Well, Im sure some members know my love of Muse and its lead member Matt Bellamy. If not, then lol come on!

Im a HUGE Muse fan, I wont deny that. I have a lot of Muse CDs, both DVDs, book, signed drumstick and many, many posters. Heck, I even have a compact mirror with Matt Bellamys face on it! Even my sig points a joke at me being "obessed"! But there are many people who have to collect any merchandise with their fav band or celeb crush on it.

But where should fans draw the line? You do get some die hard fans who go to such extremes with their celeb crushes. They send underwear, phone numbers, photos, teddies, anything and everything possible to make their idol know how much they worship them.

I got peeved off when my boyfriend went to see Within Temptation and shouted at Sharon several times that he wanted to have her children! And he was at the front, so Im pretty sure she heard. He even changed his MySpace name to "Sharon I love you. Please be mine!" and alot of his friends werent happy with this and he changed it because it would seem nasty and horrid to me. But at the end of the day, its a celeb crush, even though he hates the fact I adore Matt Bellamy and afew other celebs. Plus I asked several Muse fans to shout to Matt that I wanted his children at the latest concert! He didnt like that when he found out. Whats good for the goose, is good for the gander!

But how far is too far, in your opinion?

Wow...I just made a huge post and when I clicked "post", the server screwed up and I lost it all...

The furthest my bf has ever gone with his celeb crush was posting whorish pictures of Nicole Richie on his desktop just to piss me off while we were fighting. I threatened to break up with him, actually packed my bags to leave and nearly clawed his eyes out though. lol. But we were already having a hellacious fight before he posted pictures of her on his desktop so I would have to see them every day. I personally think she's the most discusting anorexic cocaine monster piece of filth to ever walk the earth.

I think that Brad Pitt is hot and he thinks that Christina Aguilera is cute; and we can both agree on that. XD

Lol, I had that with my ex. He adored Alisha Cuthbert and flooded his PC with horrible whorish pics of her. Pissed me off royally, yet Matt Bellamy or Muse being on my PC was a very bad thing and he would fly off the handle when hed see a wallpaper of him. Men can be selfish when it comes to crushes.

That reminds me...I had a friend back in 9th grade who was obessed with the Backstreet boys. She lilteraily thought she was going to marry Nick. She even wrote stories and drew pictures of her and Nick together. She talked about having kids with him. It was creepy....

My boyfriend isn't really into any hot celebrites. He just doesn't care. The only porn he sees now is from 4chan. -_- Yeah...he loves trolling on 4chan.

Celebrites crush can go way too far. Hide, a Japanese musician, commited suicide by hanging himself with a towel. After the news hit Japan, three of his fan commited suicide the same way.

I used to have a complete and total Hilary Duff fixation. I was no ordinary fan though. I was really f**ked up mentally. I tell you.....I won't even bring up what makes that statement true. Then, I just...stopped. I don't really care for her that much anymore. I suppose the really insane ones can possibly grow out of it.

What can I say, we're a bunch of pricks :monster:.

I think going too far is when fans start to become dangerously obsessive with the person. Such as, as you said, when they send them their phone number and other things. It's dangerous to themselves, and it's at that point that they need to realise that they're still a person and that they might be going too far.

As some may know my fave band are Nirvana, the lead singer for Nirvana, Kurt Cobain died in '94 and as a result many fans were way overly distraught and because he (Kurt) commited suicide, so did many of his fans...now, I was only 6 when this happened so naturally I didn't know who he was so his death didn't affect me at all. In my opinion THAT is taking it too far, there are many accounts of fans killing themselves because Kurt did and one or two even left notes behind that said "For Kurt" and stuff like that. I know some may or may not have had crushes on him but I suppose they loved him all the same, they loved his music, who he was and what he stood for

Celebrities have never done anything for me, so worshiping the ground they walk on is as pointless as washing my car with French Fry oil. Sure they are talented, but so am I. Pay me millions, I'll do whatever you want.

What's so great about celebs? They're just like us...except that their photos and such are merely shown in public a lot more. And their lives are probably a little more interesting than your average, but so what? At least we don't have to hear rumors about us every single day. So be thankful you're not a celebrity. I know I am. :D

How far is too far? Hmm, personally I'd say, "Oh, he's cute." or "Oh, she's pretty." is probably the furthest for me. And maybe posting two or three big posters in my room of some celebrities I liked back then. No harm in that. Typical teenage stuff, I guess.

Some of the things that boyfriends will do...
Even if I have a crush on someone; celebrity or not, I keep it to myself. And when he asks, "You think he's good looking?"
I say..."They make men better looking than you???"

But when I ask..."you think she's cute?"

"FUUUUUUUUUUCKKKK YeeeeeeeeeahhH!!!"

:omg:

I don’t know, being a huge fan or having a huge crush on a celebrity is ok I guess, at least I don’t see anything wrong with it. Eventually in time, that crush usually dissipates and goes away on its own no matter how strong it was. So I guess I would say it’s only normal for most.

But how far is too far, in your opinion?

Yeah, someone sending their personal items or phone number is a bit excessive and for lack of a better word, stupid in my opinion, but I guess it’s kinda harmless as well, creepy, but harmless none the less.

Anyway, I guess my definition of going too far with a celebrity crush, would be anything that involves legal action being taken against that fan. Lol…

Haha, I never get why boyfriends or girlfriends get so pissed off over a celebrity crush. It's just some iconic bastard your significant other will never have a chance in hell of getting with. But I guess that's why I don't really have any celebrity crushes, I don't see the point in mooning over something impossible. I'll jokingly answer Natalie Portman or a really, really young Carrie Fisher in the Jabba's slave outfit though if people ask and insist that I give them an answer, just because everyone knows how big of a Star Wars freak I am.

My roommate and his girlfriend (I suppose I ought to just say roommates since they both live here) are real funny when it comes to celebrities. They don't give a shit either. Rob, the first roommate, will see some dude on TV he thinks is pretty cool and he'll turn to her and say "You know what? This guy is fucking awesome. You can add him to the list of people I'd let you fuck!"
