You really think so? I thought the characters were diabolical in FFVIII. They all really did act like pre-adolescents who thought they knew everything about growing up. Seifer's analogy of Squall was pretty bang on, and the same goes for every other character.they were realistic and among the best supporting cast I’d seen in the series at the time.
