How cool is Gilgamesh?

A kind of spammy post but I've loved Gilgamesh since FF8. And I hope you realise that Gilly is the only boss who is the SAME character as those from earlier games! He travels dimensions! Hey perhaps I should start a Gilgamesh fan club! Hmmmm (strokes beard).

What do you guys think?
 
My 2 favorite Gilgamesh's of all time are the FFV re-occurring boss, and FFXII's hunt mark.

He's always got a humorous touch added to his personality that you have to love him, and his battles are always epic. I love how he had replicas of the legendary swords from past FF games, and also his striving after the Wyrm Hero Blade ultimately.
 
You are missing out on another important factor. The music! I love bothe versions of Clash on the Big Bridge (Love FFV's version slightly more). Also, some of his quotes in FFV are the best.

Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter. It's time we fight like men. And ladies. And ladies who dress like men.

I also love Clash on the big bridge. It's such an awesome theme. I quite like the black mages version too.

I thought he was wasted in FF8 though. Especially since the only time he appeared (for me) was in the battle with ultimecia and he did a lousy 1 damage.

He was my favorite mark in FFXII. The battle was very entertaining, especially how he kept showing off all the swords from previous games.
 
I never seen him in FFV as I have only played VII plus. I think he is a great character though and would love to see a fan club.

His dialougue is hilarious and his fights are always entertaining, not to mention he has one of the coolest pieces of Final Fantasy music to his name. He's awesome no matter way you slice it. Telmaen, I love that line from FFV particularly.
 
i love 5 and 12 but 12 in particular, the music especially, i think his theme is better in 12 though and he was definately a highlight of the game

you thought he was easy? well jeez maybe i should have leveled up more but i thought him and every mark after him were very challenging. anyway gilgamesh is a GREAT character and i hope he appears in FFXIII, even though that game looks a little too futuristic and industrialized for him. but hey, he was in FFVIII, so you never know.
 
I loved Gilgamesh from FFVIII, specially when he appeared near the end of a battle against Seifer in the Lunatic Pandora. He just came, took a sword and ...SLASH....Seifer pawned XD

Gilgamesh was also great in FFXII ^_^

The only thing I hated about him in FFVIII was that you can't summon him like you do with Ifrit....if you are lucky then he'll come to help you....-_-
 
I liked him in the battles in FFV.
Does the Gilgamesh on here have the same "Battle On The Big Bridge" music as in the original?
I've yet to fight him and that would be great :D

It's the same theme song only a different arrangement. Still pretty cool though.
 
i think it is the same, just a remixed version, thats what i thought it was when i fought him

the funny part is how you actually fight gilgamesh on the largest bridge in the lhusu mines :giggle:

It is called Clash on the Big Bridge. :lol:

It was nowhere near as large as the Big Bridge in V though.
 
yeah, it would be funny, especially if you tried to flee from him, the clash on the big bridge music in 12 makes the battle more epic
 
The Gilgamesh-battle in FFXII was awesome. The music and everything was just so nostalgic. Definately one of the biggest highlights in the entire game.:)
 
I agree with the music in FFXII's Gilgamesh battle, it was awesome.

Battle was fairly easy tho, especialy if you had a berserked Reddas in your party :p

I was in my late 60's when I beat Gilgamesh. He was easy for me. I loved how he pulled out all those weapons from other FF games. It was fun trying to name them all.
