Okay, so last night I was replaying Crisis Core and I got to the part before Zack has to battle Angeal. *sob* Anyway, there was something that was brought up by Hollander during this conversation with Angeal. He'd mentioned something along the lines of "Very good Angeal. Way to avenge (or protect, can't remember which word it was) our family's honor." Zack looks stunned and cries out "Family!?" And Angeal unleashes a dramatic outburst and runs towards Hollander screaming "NO! My father is DEAD!" After that Hollander tells him "Fine, then do it for your mother."

Now, is it possible that Hollander could be Angeal's father? I mean considering he was a huge part of the experiments, Gillian was a huge part of the experiments, etc...and Hollander referred to them as "our family" and how angry and torn Angeal seemed to be as he charged down Hollander screaming that his father was dead? It possible that Angeal is in denial about Hollander being his father? I just don't know, so I thought maybe I'd post this up. Your thoughts please?

Unless Hollander was poor at one time, I really don't think it is. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy that'd cough up all the money in his wallet to make a sword that's a symbol of their family's honor.

Hollander is Angeal's biological father, but Angeal considers Gillian's husband (who was not Hollander) to be his real dad, since he raised him. Gillian kept her husband in the dark about project G, and he died without knowing about it. That's why Angeal tells Hollander his father is dead..

:O Are you serious!? And where did you acquire this information? Why on earth didn't they be more specific about that in the game...-_- I feel like a bloody fool now for posting this. :ffs:

I found it out just by playing the game really. The scene kind of explains itself. But I did ask someone on another forum who's a huge FF7 buff, and he confirmed it. ^_^

Don't feel bad about asking about it. It was a little confusing when I got to that part, but then I just went back and rewatched it and it made sense.

I feel like an idiot not realizing this on my own. I remember that exact part too.. ugh

Yeah x_x I feel the same way, Dreamer. I honestly just thought Hollander was his father and Gillian had made up some sort of lie or something about his father supposedly dying, but yeah...I dunno. -__- Just kinda crazy, since I feel the game still wasn't very specific about it IMO.

Now that I come to think of it, it's true... I mean, it's absolutely logical, but coming to that isn't as easy as it could, :P So, yeah, it wasn't very specific...

Whaaaat? I really must pay more attention to the game details. Sheesh. I had no clue at all...didn't even suspect it until I read this thread. But yeah, I do remember that part...I just didn't think anything of it. >_< The hints are quite subtle...

well he cud mean father of the project that made him gt the wings unless that was hojo i forget

By family he ment Projects G and S (Gillian, Genesis and Sephiroth). Angeal and Sephiroth were created the same way as the same with Genesis, so theycalled themselves "family".
