But anyway, is there any point in racing Hippaul, has anyone bothered?

Ive done it a couple of times and just seem to be getting cards, is that my lot......?

Does it end or is it just summat you can do over and over, like forever?

I think you get cards every few levels and then a Key Item once he reaches Level 70 or something - Athlete Queen. There's not really any point to it, just the achievement of getting a Key Item I think.

60 Nova Dragon Card
70 Genji Card
80 Athlete Queen

His level can still increase, but you won't get anything further than the lvl 80 reward. And no, as you can see, you don't get anything (except the latter) other than cards. ;p
Generally the cards are pretty strong, so it's worth doing if only for bragging rights.

I got him up to level 44 befor my fingers started going numb and it was going up by one whole point per level......I think I'l give it a miss, I can't say Im all THAT fussed about getting afew extra cards, although I might go and get him up to 50 for the sake of it seeing as Im almostt here anyhoo

For me it was just all about the cards, couldn't care less about the key item, so I went for 70. Took me a hell of a lot time, but I managed to do it. Just like I wanted to get all the cards with the rope jumping game.

Is it a pointless key Item? Or does it get you a little etra long cutscene at the end, like Cinna's Hammer or Save The Queen?

It serves no purpose other than to just get it. It doesn't add anything to the game, it's like getting that little model ship from the old man in the Observatory Mountain next to Dali (by getting him the coffee)

Actually, obtaining the Theatre Ship model increases Zidane's Hunter rank (which

Gilgamesh

determines for you). A lot of the Key Items serve no purpose other than to have bragging rights, but a small amount do.

I always get him to level 80 just for the satisfaction of getting the key item. Doesn't take any effort either what with my autofire controller

I've never been good at button bashing, well, I used to be back in the day of California games for the mega drive...haha,but now I just get wankers cramp....if I can go back (because I forgot...>_>) I might have a crack at getting him afew more levels. Im never gunna bother with that skipping lark though, most of the time I fall flat on my face after the first jump

I've not read anything that says as much... but I get it anyway, so... I suppose I could clarify in my current playthrough, unless it only increases the points; which would gain me no knowledge. xD

Apparently alternating between X and O helps, but I've never tried. >_>

When I first got it me and my mate tried for a while to do it, he got over a 1000 the gimp. On his save file too. The most i got was about 300, but in my current game only about 100

Hippaul was fine til about level 40, then he only improved by one level at a time. i think i did it to 80 when you get the last proper prize, prolly some card lol. I'm no athlete queen though

I tried once, but I didn't find it too helpful/eventful/fun. I just sorta shrugged my shoulders afterwards and just went on with the story-line of the game. I think I had more fun jump-roping than racing.

I think I blew my chance anyway, I went backand he had gone, well, he was around but Alexandria was being rebuilt so I don't think he wants to race anymore. The stupid girls still wanna skip though.....no way am I doing that >_>
