Well I've been thinking of doing this for a while now but have only just got the courage to do it now. (I was mainly worried because I know Faith will read it and either go crazy at me or love it and give me lots of hugz ^^)

Anyways hope ya enjoy it and have fun reading the first chapter of...

Heroes: Another Story

Evolution. This is what scientists called the change of man, from monkey to human. How did this change occur? What harsh changes to the environment caused animals to change, adapt to the environment to survive? This is a question many scientists have tried to find out, mostly failing in their attempts. Sadly though, this is not the question I wish to
discover the truth to. No, I wish to discover if humanity could possibly be
forced to change once more. To become more advanced. In our society
there is a need for change, except we wish to be given it, not to become
it. The Human Genome project has successfully found out if there is
anyone with these changes and shockingly, yes, there is. Except not in
anyway you or I would have ever thought of. These people have gifts,
abilities, the ability to fly, the ability to self heal and many, many more.

“Oh c’mon man!” Rene Skylar exclaimed at his landlord, “I’m what? One week overdue and you’re already coming to bite my ass!” Rene was a grad
student at Manchester University in England, he was quite tall and had
medium length spiky brown hair. He wasn’t normally this annoyed but he
had been having trouble sleeping at night and was practically ready to
burst. He was wearing a white top underneath a brown cargo jacket and
was wearing brown jeans and trainers. He looked tacky but he didn’t mind.

“Sorry kid, gotta make sure that rent’s on time. If not, you’re out.” Rene
landlord told him, he was a short chubby bald man with a cigarette
hanging loosely from his dry lips.

“Just gimme a few more days!” Rene asked the man.

“No. Can’t you go stay with yer family or somethin’?” The landlord finally lit
his cigarette and blew the smoke into Rene’s face. Rene coughed
melodramatically and the landlord grunted in apology.

“They live on the other side of the city, it’d take me hours to get to my
university.” Rene told his landlord. Speaking of which, Rene thought to
himself. I’m gonna be late for class.

“Tough luck kid, I’m giving you till tomorrow morning to clear out your
stuff. If you’re not gone by then, anything left behind I’m chuckin’ into the
street.” The man said before walking away. Rene sighed before turning
back into his room. He grabbed his backpack and walked to an open
window. He climbed out of it and stood on the fire exit. He climbed down
the ladder and quickly found himself on the ground.

Rene’s mobile phone began to ring and he sighed as he saw who it was.
“Heya Fil, look I can’t talk long I’m late for cla-. Look slow down. What?
Dad? … I’ll be there in an hour.” Rene put the phone down and legged it to
the street. He hailed down a taxi.

“54 Evergreen Avenue. Can ya put a move on it to please?” Rene asked,
as the driver set off Rene put his head back and worried, his dad had just
been put into the hospital after having a massive cardiac arrest.

Tony Smith was going to fail, he just knew it. He was looking straight at
the exam on his desk in front of him and just knew he was going to fail. He
knew it, his teachers knew it, hell even his friends knew it. His nickname
was the iron head, mainly because he was so dumb that nothing could get
into his head and stay there.

“Christ…” Tony whispered to himself under his breath “My mom’s gonna kill
me if I fail…” Tony sat back and brushed his hand through his short blonde
hair.

“The answer to question one is Radius = 1.5cm” A voice out of nowhere
said, Tony spun his head round to see who was cheating and saw no one,
the voice had been so loud and no one had noticed. Tony looked at his
exam sheet and quickly wrote down the answer. He then looked on to
question 2 and groaned, maths just was not his forte.

Tony looked at his teacher at his desk and tried to concentrate.

“Number two is 12,316.” The voice said once more. Tony looked around
and began to smile to himself. He quickly wrote down the answer and
strained his ears to hear the voice again. All of a sudden the entire room
seemed to be filled with voices, all speaking at the exact same time. Tony
grasped his ears at the loud voices and gently put his head on the table.
He looked at his teacher once again and concentrated. The voices all
stopped.

“What is that idiot looking at?” Tony heard once more, except it seemed
to be coming from the teacher. “God that kid is such an idiot he wouldn’t
even be able to get out of a wet paper bag.” He picked up some papers
and began to ignore Tony. Tony looked to his left and spotted Tommy
Taylor and Jessica Terry, he heard them speaking but neither of their lips
were moving.

“Is he looking at me?” A female voice sounded in the room again, except
this time it seemed to be coming from within Tony’s head. “God I can’t
wait to see him again tonight…”

“Man, I can’t keep lying to her. I gotta tell her I’m gay man.” A male voice
said, Tony recognised it as Tommy’s and began to smirk to himself. “Great
one, that’ll be easy to tell her “Oh hey Jess, I’ve gotta break up with you
because I prefer to shove up guys asses instead of in girls.” Tony finally
realised it.

Oh my god, he thought to himself, I can read minds… He then remembered
what Tommy thought and burst out laughing.

“What’s so funny Mr. Smith?” Tony’s teacher asked as he stopped
laughing.

“Uhh, nothing sir. Sorry ‘bout that.” Tony quickly said.

Idiot, Tony’s teacher thought, Man I have to go home after this and
suffer my wife. The evil bitch.

Tony looked around and spotted Lisa McAvoy, the smartass in school,
Tony concentrated on her and began to hear her thoughts.

He smiled as he heard the answer to every single question. He wrote them
down and then put his pen down and waited for the bell to ring.

“Shouldn’t you be doing your test Mr. Smith?” His teacher asked him as he
walked by.

“Already done sir.” Tony told him.

“Very well then…” The teacher said, but he thought this, What an idiot, I
bet he just put “I don’t know” for each question.

As the bell rang, Tony stood up first and took his paper to the front, he
cleanly placed it on the desk and smiled at his teacher.

“Say hi to your wife for me, tell her she’s doin’ an amazing job.” He walked
out of the classroom.

~~~~~~~~~~
“How is he?” Rene asked as he entered his parents room. His mother was
sitting in the chair beside the bed whilst his brother Filden stood next to
her with his hand on her shoulder. His father had a breath mask on and
was unconscious.
“Hangin’ in there as always.” Fildens smirked, his words sounded like gold
but his eyes told another story.
“He’s such a strong man your father. He’ll get through this.” The brothers
mother said to them. Her dark hair covered her eyes and hid her tears.
“Hey Rene, can I talk to ya? Outside?” Filden asked him, Rene smiled at his
brother and had to keep himself from laughing at his appearance. He was
slightly smaller than Rene and had buzz cut brown hair. He was wearing a
sleeveless brown jacket over a white top and dark blue pants, he had
brown gloves on and was wearing goggles around his neck.
“Sure.” They left the room. “What’s up Fil?”
“Dad’s not got much more time left.” Filden told him.
“I know…” Rene said sadly, “What have the doctors said?”
“It’s a miracle that after such a violent stroke he’s even alive now, they
say he may only have till the end of the week.” Filden told him. He walked
to the window and peered through, their mother had rested her head on
the bed.
“I have to get going, I’ve missed my first lesson already.” Rene told Filden.
“Look, I know you’re having problems with the rent.” Filden turned round
“Here take some money and pay your rent for a few months.”
“No, c’mon Fil. You’re the one who told me that my independence is the
most important thing I have.”
“I said that? Don’t sound like something I’d say.”
“Well you was drunk a little.”
“Never believe me when I’m drunk, and screw your independence, take
some charity dammit.”
“Nuh uh.” Rene smiled as he turned around and walked away.
“I SAID SCREW YOUR INDEPENDENCE!! SCREEEEEW IT!” Filden shouted
down the hall before laughing loudly and going back into his parents room.
As Rene entered the taxi he had told to wait outside once more he smiled
as he got a text message. He flipped open his phone to see a text from
Filden.
If ya ever need me bro, you know where to find me. Fil.
Rene smiled as he leaned his head back and looked to the sky, over head
the sun was beginning to darken.
“I forgot the eclipse was today…” Rene said absently. As he watched the
moon cover the sun completely.
~~~~~~~~

“C’mon Faith!” A young female voice shouted as she banged her fist
against the door. “Wake up will ya! We’re gonna be late to remedials!!”

As Faith Crest began to stir in her bed the young woman ended up huffing
and walking away. Faith smirked as she sat up and opened her eyes
slowly, her dorm room was a mess and if her friend Clara had seen it she
would of gone crazy at Faith. As Faith finally got out of bed and grabbed
her dressing gown so she didn’t feel revealed, she was only in her
underwear, she noticed the wall. Sprawled across it were the words
“Woooooo hooooooo.” Faith burst out laughing, she must have been very
out of it last night.

“That is the last Maatman party I go to.” She said to herself referring to
one of her friends called Shannon Maatman, an intern from Canada. She
brushed the make up away and smiled at herself in the mirror, her hair was
a complete state but she didn’t care. All she’d have to do is go in the
shower and then straighten her hair and it’d be normal. As she entered her
small bathroom and turned on the shower she couldn’t help thinking
something was different about her. As she stared at herself in the
reflection she smiled.

“Just my imagination.” As she entered the shower and closed the door she
didn’t hear the clatter of a toothbrush falling from mid-air.

After her shower Faith finally got dressed, she put on a blue t-shirt and
jeans before grabbing her jacket and putting on her red all-star converse.
She quickly straightened her hair and finally left the dorms.

“They’re gonna kill you.” Tina Redding joked as she too left her dorm room.

“No more than you Tina.” She smiled, she quickly locked her door and
started to walk down the hall with her friend.

“Tut tut tut Faithy, You forget this is ma first time late, I think it’s your
3rd or 4th this week am I right?”

“I guess I better run then huh?” Faith smiled before breaking into a jog
and entering her the main college. She quickly found her lesson and burst
in.

The auditorium was jam-packed, but not with students, there was police
everywhere. As she looked around a policeman spotted her.

“I’m sorry miss, you can’t come in here.” The man told her.

“What’s happened, where’s my class?”

“Someone was murdered, classes are finished for the day, go back home
miss.” As the policeman turned her around and pushed her out the room
Faith spotted the body, it was her professor of physics, Dr. Reid. Faith
gasped. His entire body was mutilated but there wasn’t a single scratch
Faith could see, it was if every single thing inside Reid’s body was taken
from him.

Faith spent the entire day with her friends, talking about the murder. In
the end they all decided to stay in the same room, the main study hall of
the dorm, seeing as it was the largest room of course. But before that
Faith had to go to her room to grab her stuff, the second Faith entered
her room, she knew something was wrong. It was pitch black and she was
sure she left the lights on when she left this morning, she could just
barely see because of the moonlight and the light from the hallway, as she
fumbled for the light switch she realised it wasn’t there. She knew it
should have been but there was nothing, just a gaping hole in the wall, as
if it had been ripped out. The door slammed shut.

“Nice to finally meet you, Ms. Crest.” A male voice sounded out from the
corner of the room, Faith heard his footsteps before she saw him, the
mans hand was around her neck and she was pinned to the wall. “Now
then… What’s YOUR ability.” Faith could barely see, she knew the man had
5 o’clock shadow and was very strong, but that was all she could see, the
man had a baseball cap low over his face. “Guess I’ll have to find out.” He
began to tighten his squeeze and Faith felt the life being sucked out of
her. As she began to slowly die she concentrated all her thought on the
man by accident.

The man went flying backwards loudly into the wall, as Faith fell back onto
the floor and onto her knees the man stood up, completely unphased from
the assault he had just received.

“Telekinesis. Now won’t that be useful.” The man said evilly. He slowly
began to walk forwards and Faith finally managed to stand up, she heard
the man walk towards her and she tried to concentrate on him again,
hoping to send him flying again. She threw her arms about, praying that it
would work but nothing happened.

The man laughed, “Can’t control them hmm? I guess that means you don’t
deserve your powers.” He grabbed her by the neck once more.

As Faith choked she managed to say something. “I can’t control them, but
I can do this!” She kicked him in the privates, as the man collapsed onto
the floor Faith jumped over him and ran for the door, the man grabbed her
foot but Faith was quick to react, she lashed out and hit him in the face.
She legged it out of the room and into the corridor. As she stumbles down
the corridor, still in pain from the attack, the lights began to flicker. Faith
turned around and spotted the man. He had his hand held out, palm
upwards and was grinning, he still couldn’t see his damned face properly,
but she could tell he was white, he was wearing a black cargo jacket and
black jeans, the lights flickered once more and a sort of blue stream began
to come from them, the stream floated down and went into the mans
hand, as soon as the streams stopped he closed his hand, crushing the
stream and causing the lights to go out.

The man advanced again, this time running down the corridor, Faith felt
herself fill with energy and threw her hands forward. The man went flying
backwards and smashed through the window, Faith heard a thud of the
mans body hitting the ground 3 storeys down and quickly ran to the edge
of the window, she looked down and gasped. There was no body.

I was going to kill you at first, but I'm happy to see that some things are pretty interesting. So what - I have another reflection and have my favourite power of telekinesis? SWEEEEEEET.

I was going to kill you at first, but I'm happy to see that some things are pretty interesting. So what - I have another reflection and have my favourite power of telekinesis? SWEEEEEEET.

Why would you wanna kill me! :'( You menna lovee mee! lol Yeah, I thought you'd fit the telekinesis role more than the not being able to die ability lol. What do you mean reflection?

I thought it'd be the same as mine, but it's not. It's a bit more original to be honest and I should really start doing that with mine. I kind of do fit that role, it'd be my secondary choice of power if telekinesis was unavailable.

Lol I would never copy you Faith, It't be like trying mix me with society, BAD IDEA! lol glad ya like it anyway.

WOOT I GOT AN A ON A TEST i love my power. now all i need to do is figure out how to get it in real life so i can solve Gab's test questions

oooo. new storylines for the Heroes concept. I think I'm really going to enjoy reading this.

Hope ya enjoy the new chapter people!

Chapter 2: The realization.

“If the world’s people truly understood their potential, would their be
peace? Or would wars take over our world once more? Will death and
destruction be wrought by those with abilities? Or will they bring the world
together in a bid to create a “utopia” for say.” Mark Gainsborough lectured
his class, even in the cool air-conditioned room which held him and his
large class of 50 people the atmosphere was unbelievably hot. Here was a
man, wise beyond his years talking about humans having “special abilities”.
Yet, despite this absurdness the entire class hung to his every word. As
Mark began to open his mouth to speak the bell went off loudly signalling
the end of class.

“I expect that paper due next week people! No slip ups this time!” Mark
chuckled before turning to his desk and putting his folders and books into
his backpack.

“Mr. Gainsborough I presume?” A male’s voice sounded behind him as the
entire class left.

“If you want to ask a question about my work then could you please
arrange an appointment next time?” Mark said smiling at the man, the man
tall, he had short brown hair and green eyes, he wore a brown leather
tweed jacket and brown pants. If Mark could trust his senses, which he
normally did, then he would have to guess the man was a professor from
another university or maybe an accountant. “Alas, appointments are no
fun so I welcome you to my room Mr…?”

“Harriet, Ocelot Harriet.” The man smiled and put his hand forward, Mark
shaked the mans hand wearily and smiled politefully back. “I’ve heard a lot
about your work Mr. Gainsborough…”

“Call me Mark, all my students call me it.” Mark said without even realising.
Ocelot smiled and nodded his head.

“Very well then, I’ve heard a lot about your work Mark, and me and my
company would like to offer you a job.”

“Not interested, I like to teach, it’s my calling.”

“But what if I were to say that it meant you could further your work
beyond any limit you could ever think of?” Ocelot told Mark.

“I’m listening…”

“My company specializes in the research of these special people, we study
them and gain useful information on them and how there abilities become
real, it would be an amazing experience for you.”

“Where would I have to work?” Mark asked him, still unsure as to whether
he should work for him or not.

“London, in England.”

“Put me on the next plane there and I’m game. California was getting too
hot any way, time to go back to wet ol’ England.”

Sirens wailed as Faith was escorted safely to the ambulance by her
friends. Police scoured the grounds searching for the mysterious man but
it appeared that he had completely disappeared. As Faith sat down and
had a blanket wrapped around her she couldn’t stop thinking about how
she made the man fall out of window. She was given a cup of cocoa and
sipped it quietly, concentrating hard on what happened.

She remembered that she concentrated on the man and threw her hands
forward and wondered if she would be able to do it again. She spun her
head round and spotted her target, a glass on the drivers side of the
ambulance. She glared at it and concentrated hard on it, willing it to
move. As she concentrated she felt a stabbing pain in her hand on her
thighs, she looked down and gasped in pain, she had broken the cup in her
hands instead and had cut her hand and spilt burning hot cocoa down her.
An woman noticed and quickly ran over to her.

The paramedic smiled at Faith as she cleaned her wound and wrapped it in
cloth whilst getting her a cool damn towel for her legs. “Don’t worry about
it.” The woman said as Faith apologised. “You’ve been through a very
traumatic experience, your nerves did that, not you.”

Faith stood up and walked around the area for a few minutes to think, she
immediately found herself in a familiar place. The auditorium where her
professor had been murdered. She ducked under the crime tape and knelt
next to the spot where she saw her professors body.

“Was this him too?” Faith said aloud to herself, “Why did he try to kill me?
What’s so special about me?” Even though she knew the answer to it she
still had to say it. “How did he know I had a power before I even knew?”
Faith paced the room and spun round as she heard a loud bang. She
quickly ducked to the ground and slid underneath bench

“Do you think it’s him?” A man asked, he looked like a regular man except
for a long scar on the right side of his face.

“It’s the same MO but why would he go for a 21 year old woman? Most of
his victim have been in their 40’s or 50’s.” A young woman with blonde hair
said to the looming man.

“Well he’s a nut job, he somehow rips out their insides without even
making a scratch, does it really matter that they’re old or young?” The
man took out a cigarette and lit it, he pulled a long drag on it before
releasing it into the air.

“I guess so. You really gotta quit smoking’.” The woman said to her
partner.

“Tell ya what, I’ll quit smoking the day we get this guy. Deal?”

“You got it, Faith heard the pair shake hands before leaving the
auditorium. As thy left Faith finally began to cry, she realised just how
close she had come to being like her professor.

~~~~~~~~~~
The clouds flew past Rene as he soared through them with ease. He
laughed loudly as he spun round and gathered speed, he began to fall, he
threw his hand forward, trying to grab onto something even though
nothing was there. He spun away from the sky and looked to the ground.
As he fell and fell he couldn’t help but think of the impending death that
would soon be with him. As the ground came into view Fildensuddenly
appeared.
Rene woke up, he threw himself forward and found himself drenched with
sweat. He brushed his hair out of his face and soon discovered what woke him, to his side of his bed his mobile had begun to ring, he grabbed it quickly and flipped it open without seeing who it was.
“Hello?” Rene asked annoyed at the time the person was calling at.
“Hey Rene, it’s Fil. I’ve got some bad news mate.” Filden said from the
other end of the line. Rene recognised the tone and closed his eyes.
“I’ll be there in an hour.” He immediately hung up and called for a taxi, as
he sat down his phone immediately began to ring once more. “54
Evergreen Avenue please.”
He answered his mobile as the driver nodded and entered the mid day
traffic. “Hey Rene! It’s Lewis! Heard what happened at uni yet?”
“Hey Lewis. No I haven’t, what’s happened?” Rene said closing his eyes
and leaning back.
“Professor Hamilton got whacked man!” Lewis shouted down the line.
“The philosophy professor? And stop speaking like an American, you’re
English, you only went there for a few months.” Rene said smiling to
himself.
“I know, I know. Anyways, that’s not even half of it. Some girl got
attacked later than night, they said it mighta been the same guy!” Lewis
laughed loudly.
“Hey, that’s not something to laugh at, she coulda been killed.” Rene said
before hanging up. He quickly arrived at the mansion and found his brother
waiting outside for him.
“Where’s mum?” Rene asked as he hugged Filden.
“In the living room, she’s not crying but it just seems as though she
doesn’t care anymore.” Filden said, a small tear sliding down his face.
Rene knew he had to be the strong one, Filden always seemed to get on
better with their Dad.
“And where’s he?” Rene asked
“They’ve taken him to the morgue, the funeral should be soon. Fancy
going to our usual spot?”
“Yeah sure, haven’t been there in ages… We’ll raise a glass to dad yeah?”
“Absolutely.” Filden smirked as he took out a big bottle of whisky and two glasses.
~~~~~~~

A man stood in the middle of the small town. His head was bowed in
concentration and his arms placed firmly at his sides. The man realised
where he was and looked up.

“Hm, America. Not been here for a while.” Julius Aurelius said as he began
to walk forward into the nearest spot of shade. Julius was a tall man of
6”2 and had long dark hair and kind brown eyes. He wore a long black coat
over a red shirt and black jeans. He grabbed a newspaper from a bench
and found the date. “21st July, 2008. Ahh, my present time then.”

Julius began to walk forwards but immediately stopped as he spotted
something. A young girl was running very fast towards the road whilst a
lorry was speeding along it. The girl had reached the road and the lorry
was about to hit the girl as everything stopped. A splash of water clung
to the air from a waitress’ dropping her tray, a girl playing jump-rope was
stuck in mid-air with the rope just above her head.

Julius walked towards the girl and smiled as he picked her up and walked
towards the street. Everything began again and Julius placed the girl onto
the pavement.

“You should be more careful young lady.” Julius remarked as the girl
realised she had almost died. “Always watch the road, or next time there
may be no one to save you.”

“Thank you mister…” The girl said before walking off, scared out of her
head.

“These Americans are never careful enough these days.” Julius said as he
bowed his head and disappeared.

~~~~~~~
“Come on baby, work for me please?” A young man whispered as he put
his hand on a security console and willed it open, the console buzzed
before opening the door, allowing the boy to gain access. “Atta girl.” The
boy was 5”9 and had long light hair and grey-ish eyes. The boy’s name
was Zenan, he was 17 years of age and could talk to machines.
Zenan quickly closed the door and turned around as several men banged
on the door in anger.
“LET US IN YOU LITTLE DICK!” One of the men shouted. Zenan poked his
tongue out before turning around and walking upstairs, he quickly found himself on the roof and relaxed slightly as the cool breeze pushed past
him.
“Man, that sure was lucky.” Zenan said to himself as he put his backpack
on the ground and glanced at the money he had “stolen” from the ATM
machine. “If those guys had gotten me I’d probably be in a cell by now.”
“Up the fire escape! He can’t get down any other way!” Someone shouted
from down on the ground.
“Guess I’m off again…” Zenan said as he jumped off the building and onto
the small platform the massive crane had as a rest stop. He quickly found
the electrical box and opened it. He touched the system inside and willed
it to start working. The crane quickly started and began to move the
crane. Zenan climbed upwards and walked along the railings till he could
jump onto another building. He ran down the fire escape and legged it
back home. As he rounded the corner he felt someone grab hold of him
from behind.
“We’ve been looking for you Mr. Aora.” Said the familiar voice of Ocelot
Harriet.
“How did you… sneak up on me?” Zenan demanded as he gained his
breath.
“That doesn’t matter right now, what does matter is what we want from
you.”
“Which is?”
“You see I’ve just gotten back from America and I really want to go to
bed so really you have no choice, but I guess it’s polite to ask.”
“Just tell me what you want then!”
“We want you to work for us.”
“Pfft, what’s the pay?” Zenan demanded, it always came down to money
for him.
“Plenty for you to live the high-life.” Ocelot said, letting go of Zenan and
stepping back.
“You got yourself a deal, what do you want me to do?”
“Break into a barracks.”
~~~~~~~~

“Hey Fil, can I talk to you about something?” Rene asked as he sipped his
whisky, they were sitting on the edge of a forest and as watching the
sky.

“You can speak to me about anything bro’” Filden told his little brother.

“Well I keep having these dreams, it’s like I’m flying, sometimes I’m even
falling and ever once in a while you’re in them.” Rene told Filden. He stood
up and cracked his back

“Dreams are dreams Rene, get over them.”

“But that’s the thing Fil. I think I can fly.”

“Ha haa!” Filden burst out laughing, “Fine, if you think you can fly, go
jump off the clock tower and see what happens.”

“I think I should start with something just a bit smaller.”

“You can’t be serious. They’re dreams Rene. GET. OVER. THEM.”

“For god’s sake, you wouldn’t understand.” Rene shouted storming off.

“RENE WATCH OUT!” Filden shouted as Rene toppled over the small cliff
next to them. Rene began to fall, as he fell he couldn’t stop thinking about
how much of an idiot he was to forget there was a cliff there. As he fell
he saw something in the corner of his eye, Filden flew at top speed
towards Rene, He grabbed him around his waist and tried to fly upwards
but wasn’t strong enough. They spun out of control. They fell towards the
ground but at the last minute Rene suddenly began to fly as well, this
slowed their descent but didn’t stop them. As they hit the ground Rene
smashed his head against something, knocking him straight out cold.

Zeria Iiyasei was a kind person, she liked to help anyone and everyone.
She was normally a kind person but at the moment she was having a bit of
an argument.

“What do you mean I haven’t paid the damn rent! I gave you a check
yesterday!” Zeria screamed at her landlord.

“It bounced, get your stuff and get the hell out.” The man growled
deeply.

Zeria glared at the man. She was 5”6 and had dark red hair, her eyes
were dark but she was still quite good-looking. “My check didn’t bounce…”
She growled deeply, “My bank account has money. You’re just trying to
play me for a fool.”

“Believe me sweetheart, I don’t like to play around like that.” Zeria glared
at the man. “Of course, there are other ways to pay your debt.” The man
stepped forward so he was close to Zeria.

“Get the fuck away from me!” She shouted pushing him backwards
extremely powerful, he crashed into the wall and created a large crack.

“Crazy bitch!” The man shouted. “Get the hell out now!”

Zeria spun round on her heels and stormed into her apartment, as she
walked by she glanced into the mirror. Her reflection was different from
how she was. The reflections arms were crossed whilst Zeria’s arms were
at her side. Zeria had a scared look on her face whilst the reflection had a
smug smile.

“Leave me alone!” Zeria shouted, punching the mirror and shattering it..

Heeey nice. Your a good writer. I like my character; Ocelot Harriet.

Chapter 3: Power

“What… happened?” Rene asked as he woke up in his old bedroom. Filden was sat
next to him, leaning back on his chair casually with a beer in his hand.

“Don’t cha remember?” Filden asked with a huge grin on his face.

“No… I don’t remember much…” Rene said, leaning forward and rubbing his head.

“We flew Rene! We flew!” Filden shouted smiling.

Suddenly, everything that had happened re-entered his mind. “We really did!” Rene
jumped up and got out the bed. “We really did!”

Filden walked behind Rene and slapped on the back cheerfully. “Guess I had better
tell you something huh?”

“What?” Rene asked confused, he turned round slowly and leaned against the wall.

“I’ve been able to fly for around 6 months now.” Filden said, slowly rising from the
ground. As Filden floated, Rene also began to float.

“Wha-?!” Rene exclaimed as he began to move around the room, defying gravity with
each little movement. Filden smirked.

“You’ll get used to it bro’” He said laughing slightly. “Flying was a bit dodgy at first,
but I quickly learnt how to control it.”

“How!?” Rene shouted as his head hit the ceiling and he began to spin around

“Just relax your mind, release your attachment to gravity.” Filden said laying back
and giggling at Rene smacking his head against the ceiling. “Anyways, I gotta go
somewhere so I’ll see you in a bit.” He nimbly landed and Rene swore at him as he
walked out the room. Rene heard Filden walk down the stairs. Rene stayed there for
several seconds, he sighed and as he did so he fell to the ground. He slammed his
face into the floor and remained there for several minutes groaning in pain.

“Damn… That hurt like hell…” Rene groaned as he sat up. He stretched his back for
several minutes and found his mobile. He flipped it open and gasped as he saw the
time. It was 2:03 pm. Rene sighed as he dialled his landlords number. It rang for a
few seconds before being disconnected from the other end.

“Guess the guy’s chucked me out then…” Rene sighed slightly. As he looked round his
old room he smiled. “I wonder if I can move into resident housing…”

“Hey. You feelin’ okay Faith?” Faith’s best friend Clara asked her gently. Faith’s face
was streaked with tears, ruining her light make up.

“Of course not!” Faith choked through her sobs, “I was almost killed in case you
hadn’t noticed!” She sobbed a little more and hugged Clara tightly.

“Don’t worry, everything will be fine. I promise.” Clara whispered into Faith’s ear. She
stood up sadly and walked to Faith’s door. “There’s a policemen just down the hall if
you need help. Okay?” Faith only nodded, Clara left the room and closed the door
behind her leaving Faith in the dark. Faith felt her way to her bed and got under the
covers. As she looked up to the ceiling, knowing she wouldn’t go to sleep, her
thoughts once again turned to how she managed to defend herself from that man.
Faith rolled over to her side and looked towards her door.

After a few hours she finally gave in, she’d never get to sleep like this. She sat up
and threw her legs over the side of the bed, she found her lamp and switched it on.
She stretched her arms and cracked her neck before focusing her sight. She paced
her room for a few minutes before grabbing her laptop and turning it on.

“C’mon you bloody thing…” Faith hissed under her breath as the laptop lit up and
started to load. She tapped in her password and quickly found AOL. She logged on
and went onto Google. “Right then… I’m on, now what do I bloody search…”

She typed in random things at first, for instance, for some unknown reason she typed
“How to exact revenge on an ex’s penis, voodoo style” She giggled slightly at the
results before typing in a new search.

She then typed in “Special Powers” and sighed when all she got was super hero
comics and the like.

She leaned on her elbow and sighed. She decided to attempt to use her newly
acquired power once more. She placed a can of coke on her desk and sat down. She
slowly put her hand forward and concentrated strongly on the can. She concentrated
with all her might and gasped loudly as the can slowly inched it’s way into her hand.
She concentrated on the tab of the can and managed to pull it with her mind,
causing it to open the can. She sipped the coke and smiled widely as she finally
managed to get it. For the next few hours she repeated this exercise, over and over
again, until she was finally sure she had mastered moving small light things.

“Yes!” Faith shouted loudly. She threw her arms into the air and cheered.

Someone knocked at the door. “Excuse me, miss. Is everything okay in there?”

“Yes! Everything’s fine!” Faith assumed it was the police officer.

“I’m just down the hall if you need anything. Okay?” The policeman said before
walking back down the hallway. Faith looked at the time and realised it was 3:00 am.
She sighed.

“I wonder if any book stores are open…”Faith asked herself. She opened her door and
walked down the hallway.

“Uhh isn’t it a bit late to go out miss?” The policeman asked as Faith rounded the
corner.

“Yeah, but I really want to go to the book shop.” Faith told the man, he was in plain
clothes but you could tell he was police from just the way he acted. He was all high
and mighty and seemed to have a strong sense of justice.

“I’m sorry, but I’m under strict orders not to let you out for unnecessary things that
could risk your life.”

“Oh c’mon. He won’t come after twice!” Faith told him, even though she wasn’t so
sure herself.

“Sorry, but I’m going to have to escort you to your room.” The policeman said
walking towards her. She huffed in annoyance and spun on her heels.

“Fine, whatever.” She said annoyed, she walked back into her room and heard the
policeman set his chair next to the door and sit down.

“Prick… Making me stay in here…” She paced her room for a few minutes before
getting an evil grin on her face. She walked to her window and opened it as quietly
as she could. Outside Faith’s window was a large oak tree with lots of strong, thick
branches. She tested the branch closest to her window and smiled as it didn’t even
nudge it. She placed her other foot on it and balanced herself carefully. She walked
along the branch with both arms stretch out to her side and carefully made her way
towards the main tree.

After about 10 minutes of strenuous climbing she found herself near the ground and
nimbly jumped down. She quickly hailed a taxi and giggled as the car drove away from
the university. She quickly got to her favourite book store and asked the taxi man to
wait, as she closed the taxi door, she heard the engine rev and drive off. She swore
loudly and entered the bookstore.

“Tch, whatta prick huh?” The book store clerk said to Faith as she walked in. “How
ya doin’ Faithy?”

“Hiya Kaz, how’s business been?” Faith asked her friend.

“Pretty slow, you’re pretty much our number one customer.” Kaz told her, his eyes
not once leaving the book he was reading. From the first look, many people wouldn’t
think Kaz was a book lover, mainly because people who wear jeans and The
Carpenters shirts usually prefer music over books. He had short-ish black hair and
handsome brown eyes. Faith had been on a few dates with him but only as friends.

“Too bad huh, you wouldn’t have any books on… well special powers I suppose would
ya?” Faith asked unconvincingly

“I think you’re meant to be in a comic book store for that Faith.”

“I’m being serious, like in real life.” Faith smiled.

“Well… take a look on this months special feature, I don’t like the looks of it but it
might spark your interest…”

Faith smiled and turned around to look at it.

“Modern Evolution and abilities” By Mark Gainsborough

~~~~~~~~
“So he is here now hmm?” Julius said to himself as he picked up the newspaper from
the stand, time was frozen as he read the newspaper. On the front page was a
picture of a crime scene leaked to the press. In the paragraph below it read:
On the 21st of May, a Manchester university professor was slaughtered by an
unknown suspect. Professor John Hamilton, a respected physics expert was found in
his own auditorium at approximately 8:12 am with his entire insides ripped from his
body from a single puncture wound found at the bottom of his back.
“It is too late for me to go back in time and stop the murder. Guess I must go to
Manchester…” Julius sighed. “If I can pick up his trail then maybe I can stop him
before anyone else is murdered…” He then noticed another paragraph below:
A student of Professor Hamilton was also attacked later that night, she managed to
evade her attacker and it is suspected that it is the same man who attacked
Hamilton. Police have yet to pick up any leads on the attacker.
“If she managed to save herself than that means he will come after her again!” Julius
shouted throwing the newspaper down and closing his eyes. “I cannot let another
person die because of him.”
He then teleported. He opened his eyes and smiled as he found himself in Piccadilly
Gardens.
“When we next meet, you shall be struck down… Saix.”
~~~~~~~~

“So this is the company huh?” Mark Gainsborough said as he walked through the large
door into Primatech Paper Company. “I hadn’t realised advanced evolution which
gives ordinary humans special abilities had anything to do with… paper.” He turned
towards Ocelot and smirked.

“Primatech is just a cover-up, trust me when I say the real fun begins several levels
down.” Ocelot took out an ID tag and passed it to Mark as he knocked loudly on a
steel door just in front of him.

“What’s this for?” Mark asked looking at the tag.

“You don’t want to be shot now do you?” Ocelot told him sinisterly. The door swung
open and Ocelot walked in, Mark clipped the tag to his chest and walked in behind
Ocelot.

“What exactly do you do here then?” Mark asked the man he had met barely a day
ago.

“Did you not understand what I said on the plane?” Ocelot asked the professor.

“ ‘We strive to understand and protect those who are special’ didn’t really fill in the
big gap in my mind.” Mark said to Ocelot sarcastically. Ocelot smirked slightly but hid
it from Mark.

“True, I suppose. Fine then, we at the company discover these who have abilities
and bring them to one of our many bases. We test them to discover what power they
have and how they use it, and in some special cases, if we deem their ability to be
too powerful that it will risk many lives we… detain them.”

“You detain them!? You mean keep them prisoner right? That’s against the law!
Surely someone would stop you?”

“Would you want someone who has the ability to drain life from around him in your
society?”

“Someone can do that?”

“Why of course, he’s called Billy. He’s 5 years and has the gob the size of a whale…”

“I guess you don’t like him huh?”

“He’s my cousin.” Mark’s jaw dropped.

“Y-your cousin!? Why on earth would you keep a small child, family even, here!?”

“He is too dangerous, that is why we have called you here.” They finally reached
another door and Ocelot opened it. “You say that there is a way to negate these
“abilities”, we need you to find a way to get rid of them.”

The lab was humungous, it was Mark’s idea of heaven.

“Wish me luck…”

~~~~~~~~
“Rargh!” Zeria shouted as she threw the large heavy plasma TV against the wall. Her
rage was just uncontrollable, but at the same time she knew it wasn’t her. “Get the
hell out of me!”
Zeria glared into the mirror, her reflection had a smug yet horrifying look.
“Who… are you!?” She hissed at the image.
“Take a guess sister.” The image suddenly said, Zeria fell back astonished at the
image, suddenly, the voice was coming from behind her. “Get up.”
Zeria’s head spun and sure enough, there was an identical version of her.
“R-Rayne?” Zeria said gob smacked, “But you… died.”
“Oh yes, yes I did, but I’m living on through you, weak, pathetic little you.” Rayne
said kneeling down. “Now get the hell up!” Zeria quickly stood and put her hand
forward to touch Rayne.
“I’m as real as you are sweetheart.” Rayne said grabbing Zeria’s wrist. “Now you’re
gonna do me a little favour and go to sleep, and in the morning, you’re not gonna
remember a single thing about today… or what’s going to happen tonight.” Zeria
collapsed.
~~~~~~~

“Ahhhhh!” Tony groaned, clutching his head. He had been playing soccer when all of
a sudden he collapsed. Everything around him was so loud, yet it seemed no one was
speaking.

What a wier…

Get the hell up you di…

What’s wrong with hi…

………………

Tony looked around for the silent mind. He quickly homed in on a tall black man, he
was looking directly at Tony and looked as though he was the calmest person there.
Tony homed in on his thought but found only silence.

He then went unconscious.

3 hours later.

“Wakey wakey, Mr. Smith.” A candescent voice spoke. Tony immediately gained
consciousness and found himself in a small room filled with machinery.

“Wh-who the hell are you?” Tony said trying to read the mans thought.

“Tut tut tut, that won’t work while my friend is here.” The man smiled indicating to
his right, the tall black man was there. “But to answer your question my name is… Oh
who cares, you won’t remember this tomorrow anyway.”

“Wh-Who’s Faith?” Tony asked getting a small glimpse into the man’s mind.

“You’re stronger than you appear…” The man said, he then looked to the black,
unspeaking man. “You know what to do.”

The man nodded and placed his hand on Tony’s head.

~~~~~~~
“So… What’s… The… Job?” Zenan asked as he did squats. He was in a large
warehouse looking building, surrounded by machines of all manner, some of the most
high tech stuff was in his view and it was like a dream to him.
“Hm?” Ocelot asked, looking up from his newspaper.
“Well, you said I’m breaking into a barracks, but you never said what for.” Zenan
said, stopping his squats. He sat down, crossed his legs and leaned back on his
hands
“Oh, it’s nothing big. We just need you to tap into their satellites and give us
complete 100% access. We did have access before but for some strange reason it
stopped. We’re hoping that seeing as your ability counts as a natural background act
towards any computer it won’t ever be noticed.”
“Why the heck do you need satellites?” Zenan asked Ocelot.
“Never you mind, just do as you’re told and you’ll get to see daylight soon.”
“I don’t normally take well to being threatened.” Zenan hissed at the man, Ocelot
stood and cracked his knuckles in Zenans face.
“Just because you’re good with machines doesn’t mean I can’t beat you to a pulp…” Ocelot growled. Zenan immediately backed down and gulped slightly. Ocelot smirked
as the warehouse door opened loudly. A tall powerfully built man walked in.
“He is ready?” The man asked in a deep growling voice.
“Yup, all ready and set to go. You know what to do right Zenny?” Ocelot said happily
all of a sudden
“It’s Zenan and yeah I do.” Zenan moped, putting his backpack onto his back and
trundling forward towards the man.
“Then let us leave at once…”
Yes, that'd be me to climb out down a tree! I'm curious as to what happens next ...
