I've never created a bio before, and was wondering if someone could help me out and give pointers?

Check the stickied threads at the top of the page in this section. There is a Bio Format, which should give you a general idea of what we're looking for in each individual section. Red Fox also created a sort of walkthrough for a melee fighter not too long ago. Even if you're not planning on creating a melee fighter, it might be a good thread to check out to get some pointers/ideas.
