Has anyone heard that they are now making Catfish in the UK? I love this show and actually in a similar situation myself so I am thinking of applying.

I saw this article the other day - http://www.mtv.co.uk//news/catfish-the-tv-show/392527-catfish-uk-coming-soon

I have been talking to someone for over a year now that I met online, we talk almost every night for hours and I am so in love and happier than ever.

We have never met up but he only lives about an hour away from me. I am scared to come clean because I haven't been honest about what I look like and I think I might lose him if I do.

I think it is the right thing to do as it feels like the right time to take the step. Is anyone else in this situation that might be able to share some words of wisdom and courage?

Thanks,

S.

why put yourself on tv just to find this out? just meet up with one another if you live so close, or at least send each other a photo. you don't need to be exploited over it.

I do know what you mean but I think if I can show I am confident enough to come clean maybe it will encourage other people not to be scared of how they are...

Maybe, still not sure but think I am going to email.

I find reality shows to be silly, tbh. I read about the TV show (never seen it) and it seems like the premise is "surprise, this is who you've really been talking to!" Honestly, if you like the person you're talking to, why put them in that position? Would you want someone to surprise you like that with cameras for the whole world to see?

I say just come clean to the person and tell them that you fudged some details. Starting a relationship off with a lie is never a good thing. Exchange photos and see what happens. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out but at least you're not being exploited by some silly TV program.

Yeah have to agree with Ilyena here. You don't know how much shows manipulative or change things to increase ratings for their show. There is a huge chance that they could ruin your life just they can get ratings. You can, but it's a huge risk.

A Example of this would be " heroes of Cosplay " They made two Doctor Who sister cosplayers look like evil jerks because they were in competition of the main characters of the reality show; when they just wanted to cosplay Doctor Who.
