Ruby Weapon, I say him cause He can rid the field of two people and Highest Def. and Mag. Def. in the game. Can't even kill him with overflow Damage using Vincent x.x
Hardest boss in final fantasy 7

Out of the optional bosses it has to be Ruby Weapon when I played the game first I only lasted a couple of minute's in battle with it cause I wasn't expecting him to so strong and out of the main bosses it had to be Sephiroth.
There are a few bosses that can be tough if you are not well leveled and prepared enough to fight them. For example:
Lost Number- He is one of the hardest bosses in Final Fantasy VII do to it's high strength and high level magic spells. He can be a threat if you are not well prepared or if your are under leveled.
Carry Armor- Another tough boss in my opinion because of his grab attacks which it grabs one of your comrades and counters continuosly to him/her after each of your attacks dealing a extreme amount of damage to him/her. Once he has kill one of your comrades he will grab another of your comrades and continue doing it until your party in annihilated. Out of all of his attacks that is the most powerful one that he has.
Rapps- This is probably one of the hardest boss fight because
so you won't be able to use them for a period of time. He can be a real challenge if you are not well leveled and have the right items for this battle.
Those are the toughest bosses for me excluding the optional bosses. They have a decent amount of HP and powerful attacks.

I don't even see how this could be up for debate.. If we are counting all monsters it's ruby weapon hands down. I fought him and emerald back to back and emerald was a joke compared to him.. As are all the story line bosses.
By the way when I think of hardest boss to me that means the hardest boss you face when you come across them in the game not necessarly what boss has the best stats.. You can face Ruby Weapon at anytime you want but even at lvl 99 he will still put up more of a challange than any of the other bosses at any point during the game..

Lol i agree. i've NEVER been able to any damage to him....Emerald is a close second though, hate when he seperates.
