Not sure if this is the right section but I had a question on FFVI. What is approximately the halfway point of the game? I just finished the Floating Continent and was wondering if that starts the second half of the game. Makes sense and thats what I have heard, but the walkthrough I was looking at seems to say that where I am is about 3/4 of the way through.

I think the floating continent is half way through. The WoR has got a lot of things that are completely optional. So I say its half way through cause you are let into another version of the world to explore again. If you do all the side quests though it could be longer.

I've always thought of the Floating Continent as the halfway point like a lot of people have said, but it's probably more like the 2/3 point :hmmm: But I always do all the parts which are considered optional, so if you are just trying to get to the end quickly you're probably a bit further than that.

I'd recommend doing as much as possible in the WOR for story purposes though ^_^

Basically all the interesting storyline parts happen previous to the World of Ruin. I'd definitely put the floating continent about 2/3 through the game. Get out the FAQ and start plowing through the mindless chores they have you do to get the rest of your party back, and you'll eventually unlock the final dungeon.

Like everyone else has said, it is about 2/3 of the way through the game, but if you were to do all of the optional stuff then it would take longer.

It's actually possible to beat this game without retrieving all of the characters, but I strongly recommend that you do so. Not only does having the full party let you see some of the most crucial character-related scenes in the game, but it will also help a lot in the final dungeon (as you split up into three parties, and you'd need to control each party).

So travelling around and picking up each party member is not a bad idea. So while there is quite a lot to see in the WoR, a lot of it is optional, but only fools or people who don't care for the story wouldn't try to see it all.

Yesh, the FC is halfway through the game. At least, that's how I always looked at it. I would say "I'm halfway through" when speaking to my friends lol

Alright thanks everyone! I was wondering not because I wanted to finish it up quickly, but because I wanted to know how much more story was in this awesome game.
