Good Lord

If you cast Regen, then if they hit you with meteor, you will still be alive. If you just cast cura, it will still kill you. I usually cast regen on my characters to start the battle.

Ok this is just kinda ridiculous. On CL1, the chocobos kept casting Meteor for 6 or 7 consecutive turns until they finally killed me. My character is no good with MAG so I don't depend on Regen at all. But this isn't about Regen. This is about Meteor. What a pain. >.> It won't even give me a chance to attack...

And on top of that, the chocobos keeps dodging my character's physical damage. >.> There was this one battle where my character did not even landed a hit...at all. Which is weird because I changed my weapon to Sarafan Axe, which is stronger than Mexitl...yet with Mexitl, I was at least able to do some damage. I had to switch my attack type to Kronos as well because God of War does not support Sarafan Axe...(So when I have to hit, I have to keep my attack type to "Normal" first to gain ADR of at least 1, and then be able to use Kronos...)

This is so hard...

Can anyone offer anything...?

I'd suggest switching back to Mexitl until a weapon stronger than the Sarafan Axe becomes available, and that you wear that Ring I traded you. At least at that point you'll have approximately 100 Mag which, although not great, WILL help you [ignoring chance of success].

You'd consider it beneficial to restrict spells such as Regen to your Tonberry, as your pet won't inflict as much damage as you potentially can in the long run... unless your pet' MAG stat is relatively high and you only use it for the likes of Lantern. Still, Regen is ideal to be left as a pet-only spell for the time being.

Aw man. But Sarafan is supposed to be stronger than Mexitl! And I wish Kronos has an ADR of 0 rather than 1. (Like God of War). Makes things easier that way. But okay, I guess I'll revert back to the Mexitl...

Alternatively you could wait until people add enchantments to your Sarafan Axe - this increases overall damage output, particularly if Kronos is added.

But for the meantime, using the Arcane Ring for a boost in Regen's effectiveness [if you're still intent on having your main character cast it] would benefit you considerably - though this still means you'll have to wield Mexitl.

Well that's the thing. I'm perfectly content on having my pet cast Regen and leave the job to him. My character would simply use Cura. My problem is with Meteor and chocobos casting them more than 5 times in a row. That and I can't seem to land a physical attack...I know it's not the weapons that have faults (probably not anyway)...the chocobos just seem to dodge way too much. >.>

To be honest, it is a good idea to have both pet and main character casting regen. Also with Berserk and Imbune, I suggest people start adding stats to their Tonberry's STR. Because with the attack type, they can do some damage.

Also, I suggest people purchase Hastaga. Because they will need it against the Smiths. :neomon:

Hurrah for Hastaga, it's a freaking lifesaver when it comes to Chocobos.

But anyway, when people get back to Calm Lands (one day), I'd recommend getting good at Haste/Hastaga and Regen. Those things are the only things that will keep you from auto-failing. Building up MAG up until that point will help out a lot, as well.
