Garnet or Eiko?

Garnet for a ton of reasons. Not only was Eiko just flat out annoying but Garnet is one of the best developed characters in the entire game. I won't ruin the game for anyone, but she definitely was one of the best thought out characters of any game in the series. Not only that, she wasn't bad on the battlefield. Granted I'm not much a fan of healers but she was pretty useful.
 
I liked Garnet better because she had a better storyline I used her mainly for healing I don't really use summons but when I did she had the best ^_^ I found Eiko to be an annoying brat :P
 
I prefer garnet cause her character is more developed and i liked her bahamut better
 
Hard to choose between them, they both have their merits. As a summoner, Garnet is definitely better - she has a wider range of eidolons, and the best of the game, Ark. However Eiko is a better white mage - she's got Full Life and Holy, which are really useful later on in the game. I used both Garnet and Eiko to fight Ozma, kept Eiko with Auto-Life on her at all times (using Amarant's Aura), and when everyone else died I summoned Phoenix to revive them all. So in that battle, Eiko was definitely more useful, though I did use Garnet to summon Odin and Bahamut.
 
Gosh, this is why I love this game so much.
It's all about strategy. Which characters to use..hmm. ^_^
 
Garnet definitely but the period where she stopped talking and battling properly got pretty annoying. :[
 
LOL that part did suck.
I usually always have her in my party, and at that point in time, she's virtually useless. =[
 
Garnet, definately. I loved her, she was one of my favourite characters in FFXI (Freya being first). Never really liked Eiko, she was a bit....bratty!
 
I loved Garnet more than Eiko. Eiko was just too annoying and if I had her on the team, I usually used her for her white magic. Garnet I used her to summon most of the time and she was almost always in my team.

But, in battle, it depends on my situation. If it was one where it'd simply be dificult to survive, I'd pick the better healer (Eiko), in a fight when i couldn't be arsed to take them properly, I'd summon something tough with Garnet.

My main reason for preferring Garnet, is because she can summon leviathan, the water demon. I prefer water spells to any other. (Gizmaluke is my fave boss because of this)
 
Garnet it has to be her she goes through so much in the game and just has a better personality than that little 6 year old HOMEWRECKER:mad:

That and i have a thing for the whole zidane and garnet love story, just like the other love stories squall and rinoa, cecil and rosa (note: i'm not gonna meantion the triangle of 7 cause i dont wanna get stuck in that arguement)
 
I like them both. Garnet is better developed, but a lot of people don't realise that Eiko isn't just a little brat. She's been through a lot too, and she's hella mature for her age. (I really wish she was about 10 or 11, that would be more believable.)

Garnet: The majority of her summons are obsolete by disc for. The only good ones are Ark, Bahamut and Odin (even better when equipped with Odin's Sword). My Odin is actually more powerful than Bahamut, but I suppose that's because I have more Ore (is it Lapis Lazuli that powers Odin?) than the number of Garnets. However, Eiko's Madeen and Holy are effing powerful. Many monsters are weak against Holy damage by disc four, so Eiko excels. Against a Hecteyes, Holy does 9999 damage, while any of Garnet's Eidolons do 4000 damage, max.

Sure, Garnet's Odin is really useful when it kills all the enemies, but that hardly ever happens. Garnet's Eidolons are about power and not strategy. Eiko's are really useful when against bosses. She can use Carbunkle to reflect everyone. Then, you have Vivi with ReflectX2 to use Water on the party, and you have an instant 9999 damage on the enemy.

Even a reflect on a party member and then casting Holy on that party member does a lot of damage. If a party member is knocked out, Eiko can use Full-Life. Garnet only has Life. If multiple members are KO'd, Eiko can use Phoenix. If everyone is knocked out, but more specifically if she's the last one to get knocked out, there's a chance she'll auto-summon Phoenix to resurrect everyone. In Trance, she could Double-Holy. Lots of damage ^_^

Eiko also gets Curaga waaaaay before Garnet does. Garnet's Eidolons are powerful though, when she's levelled up enough, and when you have the number of stones to make her more powerful. In Trance mode, using Garnet's "Eidolon" move to summon an Eidolon will do damage to an enemy. Then, on every one of Garnet's turns, it will auto-summon, doing damage. Garnet gets another turn because the auto-summon doesn't cancel out her turn.

It's a tough one, but I like them roughly the same.

The only thing that bothered me about her is hate fact that she's so obsessed with her mother(Queen Brahne) >_> it was rather annoying tbh.

I just found her to be more useful in battle. Her summons and magic is better and overall, is more useful.

Her personality too. I like it compared to Eiko. Eiko on the other hand, wasn't as strong, didn't have as many useful summons. The only thing I can say that makes Eiko better is her Trance mode. Garnet's just pathetic in Trance :ffs: At least Eiko gets to use double white magic

Plus, Garnet and Zidane seems more suitable then Eiko and him. (of course I'm pretty sure they'd never get together since Eiko is only 6)
 
Really tough to decide.

Eiko: She's mature for her age, and perhaps the best White Mage I ever laid my eyes on. Perhaps her crush for Zidane was a little silly, but honestly, did you all really believe Zidane would fall for the schemes of a 6-year-old?

It could go either way, but my choice will always be Garnet. Her personality just wows me, she's a strong summoner, a strong White Mage (weaker than Eiko, but definitely a strong White Mage). Plus, she's waaay more beautiful than Tifa, Rinoa, and all the dark-haired ladies of Final Fantasy in my opinion. :D
 
I'd have to say Eiko because shes cuter and funnier, while garnet is all emo forr most of the game, plus i see her as such a drag because her ark summon is REALLY hard to find.
 
I'm pretty much with Grand Lethal on this one. Garnet is great as a summoner whereas Eiko is great as a White mage me thinks.

I like them both as characters, neither of them are damsels in distress. They don't wait for a hero to come and save them, they try and save themselves. As Grand Lethal mentioned Eiko does act more mature for her age (6 friggin' years old). But hey, maybe it's the horn. who knows? maybe the summoner race develop faster or some shit =p.

But overall Garnet > Eiko.
 
Dagger Shes hot! thats not a good place to start but l puts it out there....

I prefer Garnet for the fact she has the Bahamut summon and the better summon selection,
She is also the white mage of my preferd party of Zidane Garnet Vivi & Stiener and a princess to boot.

Kind of annoying she loses her voice and screws up for some time but what are ya gonna do? Eiko is not a hack by any means and more than holds her own in battle, l just likes Dagger more than the little tyke;)
 
i think eiko because she cute and funny too ... and her magic is useful in the battle .. and she can cast Holy . .. but Dagger i don't think so .. she seriously al the time ..
