Is anyone else getting random ass links on your pages?

Like on every random page, whenever there's some sort of peculiar word located on the page, there's a link in it, from Text-Enhance.

I tried to look up solutions to it, but to no avail.

It looks exactly like this.

scaled.php

That word has a link to it from Text-Enhance.

And here's my own example.

Looks to me like you have a virus going? You might wanna run something on that. I never heard of it.

It's not really a virus per se, but it's more of a add-on based malware.

I checked my add-ons, and I don't see anything that could be causing the problem.

All I have for add-ons are

• Adblock Plus
• FireBug
• Personas
and • a Save Session

I'm in the process of looking through my recent installed programs, from the root folders on my OS (C: )

It definitely sounds like adware to me, not necessarily malware. I hope the restore did some good!

i'm surprised that adblock plus isn't blocking it..... very weaid, do you run a firewall or anti virus, I agree with the others, it seems like adware, does it happen when you view the forums? or a site where it might not appear like google or youtube??? also have you tried IE, that would rule out a firefox extension causing it.

Does this answer your question?

The restore didn't do shit.

And no, I didn't try IE, or Chrome. It doesn't show up on Safari, so yeah.

Really plow through your Program Files or use the Search tool in order to find things that may be connected to 'Text Enhance'. It sounds like it could be just a dumb add-on/plug-in installed in your browser. Maybe reinstall any internet browsing programs you have, and wipe all of their preferences/add-ons. See if you have an external program in your tray (bottom-right) running that may be connected to it. Or check the processes in Task Manger to see if there's anything odd that might be also related to Text Enhance. And of course, do a bunch of virus scans.

if it not doing it on safari, then it firefox related, must be a doddgy plugin, try uninstalling/reinstalling firefox, make sure to delete the program files for firefox before reinstalling, try and back up bookmarks as well if you need them, that should fix it

I was getting survey popups on firefox for basically every single page i opened. It was due to some dodge thing that had downlaoded with a torrent.

Im glad i have a computer savvy friend at the ready.

I get this too... even on my mom's computer (which has a great anti virus program) I always thought it just happened because that's what google does. :hmmm:
