Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada addressed the state of Final Fantasy XIV during a recent investor briefing. Wada admitted that there were problems with the title and promised improvements as the company works towards regaining fans’ trust. “We’re quickly working on reforms. We’d like to put our full power into regain trust,” said Wada.

According to Wada, the negative reception FFXIV received after it released was partly due to high expectations for the title, but the burden will be on Square Enix to satisfy customers. “If we satisfy our users, they will return. On the other hand, once the users say, ‘forget this,’ there’s no turning back. We can only recover our trust so far,” explained Wada.

The news follows a bumpy launch for the MMORPG, which has received an overwhelmingly negative reception from critics and fans. Shortly after the title’s launch in late September, the game’s 30-day trial period was extended for an additional month after Square Enix received what the company refers to as “a wealth of constructive feedback” from the FFXIV community.

The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV is on track and is still scheduled to release in March, 2011.

no, it's because this is online garbage, I had no expectations what so ever.

Oh, someone FINALLY figured it out! *applause*
Why is it they state the obvious like its such a major discovery? Contrary to what they think, a lot of SE fans aren't mindless in their support - we're not going to buy the games just because its got their logo on it.

SE aren't THAT special - if any games company satisfies their customers, they're going to get more of them. If they make a bad game, it won't sell. Why was this such a hard thing for them to grasp? Its a universal law of business! Sometimes I wonder if those in charge of SE are entirely aware of their surroundings. Then I look at Toriyama and FFXIII and stop wondering. HONESTLY. Part of me can't believe there is a news thread for what we've known for years.

“a wealth of constructive feedback”
...that is a rather delicate way of putting it, isn't it? xD;

Although I'd hope that if someone has FINALLY figured out the obvious, there is a fair chance of SE fixing the bugs in FFXIV for the PS3 release and perhaps regaining a little of that lost trust. Its possible. Although still very unlikely. They've still got their heads shoved so far up their backsides that they can't see to realize that most of their fans have realised how bad their latest games are.

Well if they could've put some more time and effort to the shitty game they called Final Fantasy 14, then maybe, and just maybe, fans will return, and buy it. However, if not, then they should just give us(me) my Versus :mokken:.

why would you wana play a game when you pay £9.99 a month for it and it has bad reviews :/

square are going to have a hard time fixing this one :/
