Final Fantasy: The Chocobian Warriors

Note: This isn't an original idea by me. It was taken off from another's. I merely changed the story slightly.

Back Story:
In the kingdom of Arthia a small military unit, known as the Chocobian Warriors, was the most well known unit through out the small newly building kingdom.

As there were many of these small kingdoms the progression of lust for land and growth soon became present. More hunger for growth and power increased tensions between Kings, though there is peace to this day. Kings argued how borders will be designated, and soon enough, threats were made.

The kingdom of Arthia was dominant in the arguments and this far owned most of the land. However there was a secret amongst the royalties regarding a sealed door, located in some basement of the Imperial Palace.

This secret, could very well change the world, if it was ever spoken or made known...

Plot:

As a small number of solders from the Chocobian team were sent out on a reconnoitering mission, the team returned to a burned down, destroyed Capital. Their family, friends, and home have been left pillaged and ruined. Oddly enough, there are few supplies left to salvage from nearly destroyed buildings, and the military armory itself. This is where our story begins, upon the realization that the team, is now the only remaining soldiers of the Chocobian Warriors.

There is a choice. They can band together as a team, and become a mercenary group, and offer their skills for profit in this warring world. Or separate themselves, joining new kingdoms, destined to met one another on the field, and forced to battle one another to the death. Or try to live as a citizen on their own, only to have the past haunt them for the rest of their lives.

The leader of the Team, opted to keep the team as one, and venture into the service as a free lance unit, holding onto the name of Chocobian Warriors. Though the decision was made, the leader allowed those who wished to leave, to do so, and not a single thought of negativity would be bestowed upon those who make this choice. A few decided to find their own destiny, and lead a different life. A very painful good-bye was given, as the number decreased to a handful.

These handful of warriors are now under a single banner. Now known as the Mercenary Chocobian Warriors, they strive on seeking work, and surviving on their own. The group made one more round to suit up on any more supply that can be salvaged from the wrecked city, and were to rally at the main gate...

Settings:

This story is set in the world of Gaia, which is like Earth back in the age of dinosaurs. That is, with only one continent.

To the North, is the greatest kingdom, Arthia, now a wreck thanks to an assault by an unknown nation. This will be revealed later, but that's another matter. The Kingdom of Arthia adopted Feudalism as it's main political system. Thus, it has many different lesser states bestowed on various Lords (No higher than this rank), whom, in turn, have their own private armies.

All of them work to defend the main state, Arthia, which had no armies at all. In fact, it is the main state simply out of tradition, and thankfully for the state, the others respected this, and never attacked them. The Kingdom of Arthia, although owning the most territory, is only averagely developed, technologically.

Southwards, there is the Kingdom, Rezalus. For those who played Final Fantasy IX, Rezalus is exactly like Lindblum, technologically advanced. Airships are a common sight in it's main city, Rezeal. Ruled by King Rezalus, it was a flourishing nation that was the least interested in owning the territories in Gaia.

In all other areas, there are various lesser kingdoms, the most prominent of which would be the kingdoms, Agault, and Varese. These two kingdoms are the most military inclined, and perhaps, also, possess the strongest army out of the many kingdoms that dot the continent.

The capital of these two Kingdoms are highly underdeveloped, nor does anything seems to be happening to correct this. Ironically, it's people live in relative peace and harmony, despite their poorer conditions compared to other Kingdoms.

As to other kingdoms.... You are free to create the others from your own imaginations, but these above are the main ones that you should know. Which also mean the plot will touch on them, so do read them carefully.

Hey hey! I'm in!

[Name] Temahari Watanuki

[Chocobo Name] Himamori

[Chocobo color] Black and REALLY fluffy XD

[Age] 19

[Appearance] Temahari stands at around 181 cm tall and weigh in at about 62 kg. Her face is relatively oriental in shape. Her skin colour is pale pinkish whilst her eyebrows are dark and thin in a graceful arch over her eyes. Her lips are blood red and nicely proportioned for her face Her nose is slim and a bit pointy and on top of the right nostril is a small golden piercing in the design of the Chrysanthemum flower. Her hair, unlike her eyebrows are pure snow white whilst her eyes are somewhat wider than normal asians and are hazel in colour. On her ears are a pair of golden chain earrings with a golden chrysanthemum flower design at the bottom of the dangling chain. Her face remains relatively asian. All in all, her body is typical that of a professional soldier, trained and tough. Despite her experience in combat and wounds, her body so far remains scarless.

[Clothing/Armour] Temahari has little actual clothing material on her upper torso. Underneath everything, she wears a white backless, sleeveless Keikogi and a long, black hakama. Her armour is on top.

{Arm} On her arms are a pair of white link mail armlet which covers the top of her hand, held in position by a loop through the middle finger and thump, continues under the palm and over the knuckles before heading backwards and ending halfway on her biceps. On top of the armlets at the hands and forearm is her lower arm armour, which, at the hand, is held in place by leather loops which each finger slips into. The hand piece and the forearm piece are seperate and held together with leather straps. At her wrist, it is secured by a black leather strap. The forearm piece follow suit and is secured by two more leather straps. The forearm piece extends past the elbow in order to protect the joint. Her lower arm armour is black in colour and has a white dragon etching as decoration on the forearm and breathing fire onto the hand protector. Her shoulder pauldron are tied to her biceps by black leather straps and are plated, meaning it is layered. It is black at the base with bronze coloured tiny steel plating on top.

{Legs} Her legs are covered firstly with a black hakama with a slight white flame pattern at the base. On her feet are white tabi socks and japanese zori made of wood with steel plating along the base. On top of her hakama is her armour. Her greaves is are placed and tied at her shins and is black metal withe similar dragon design as her gauntlet. Her cuisses (armoured skirt as seen in picture) are plated design and hangs at her waist in four parts, two that covers the front and sides and two at the back that meet the front two at the sides. These are loosely secured to her thighs at the top, but left loose at the bottom. It is bronze as a base colour with black metal tiles on top. On her waist is a white silk obi with a light sakura pattern near its tips and is tied at the front. On top of that is a cerimonial gold plate and link belt.

{Chest} On her chest is her two piece cuircass. Preferring a lghter load, her armour doesn't completely enclose her. She has two armour pieces (as seen in the picture) which is black as the base colour and bronze in terms of plate tiles. It covers her upper chest area and down to her navels. However, it does not completely touch the cuisses on either front or back. Therefore, her sides and back skin is open to the air. Again, it is strapped to each other via black leather straps.

{Head and neck} Her helm (side view) is completely black on the outside while the inner side is bronze coloured. The black is the same as her armour, however, the rising V appears more like this helm and is white. Along the bottom rim is a small swirling dragon pattern that reaches fromone side to the other. Finally on her neck is a ninja scarf in the same design as her obi, with sakura petals near the tip, which is dressed as such.

[Personality] Temahari is righteous and couragous, following deeply with the rule of the bushido. She is somewhat hot blooded during battle, easily raising her fighting spirit, but during other times, appear cool headed, peaceful and wise.

[Class] Samurai

[Weapon] Her weapon is her large odachi, Benihime at 1.8 meters long (handle 80cm, blade 1 meter). It is either held or slung onto her right shoulder with the help of a strap that rus from one end of the sheath to the other.

For closer combat, she holds a set of katanas (a katana and a wakizashi) at her left waist named Hiroyuuki and Hiroyuuka. The wakizashi is exactly the same, but scaled down smaller.
(Pic two. Just the katana)

eh, ill finish this later when i get an inspiration for the skills.

Count me in as well.

[Name] Galberoth Alberner

[Chocobo Name] Omen

[Chocobo color] Black, and meticulously preened.

[Age] 32

[Appearance]

Physical: Galberoth's face is rarely seen, as he always hides it beneath a full suit of armour. He is a well-built man, standing a head taller than most (about 6'5"), and festooned with various scars and cuts from arduous training. His face is solid and defined, complete with a well-trimmed black beard and somewhat long black hair. His eyes are grey with perpetual dark circles beneath them, and his eyebrows are thick and slant slightly, making it appear that he is glaring, whether he intends to do so or not. Particularly prominent scars run along his left eye and right jaw. Due to how frequently he wears his armour, he is quite pale.

Armour: Galberoth's armour is ornate and well-kept, its black surface polished to a nearly impossible sheen. Its overall appearance is intimidating, completely jet-black with midnight blue trimming and designs, with a visored, horned helm. The heavy helmet itself only has two small slits for the eyes, the black horns pointing outwards and back, as a mirror to how a bull's horns normally point. The visor slants outwards slightly before pulling back inwards before the chin. The helmet's decorations are most complicated near the eyeslits, but are otherwise barren upon the helm's surface. The breastplate, in contrast, sports rather elaborate, morbid designs throughout, connecting with the designs on the pauldrons, grieves, gauntlets, and the like. The gauntlets are rather claw-like in nature, and come to pointed tips on the fingers. The unprotected spaces in the heavy plate armour are covered by black chainmail. A cape is donned over the armour, its broach situated over the right pauldron. The cape is decorated similarly to the armour, and being of the same colouring scheme. The armour is quite thick and heavy, and protects him quite well from most physical attacks without a good deal of force behind them, although the vulnerable spaces guarded with mere chainmail (under his arms, and to a lesser extent, the back of the knees) can be exploited by a more finesse-oriented fighter.

[Personality] Galberoth is grim, honourable, serious, and at times, a bit uptight. He adheres closely to a self-set code similar to that of Chivalry, and tends to carry burdens silently and without a word. He has a powerful temper, but tries his best to master it. He tends to be direct and honest in conversation, but avoids trying to be cruel or harsh. He pays respect to all, until they show that they are unworthy of that respect. It is not uncommon for him to refer to a mere peasant as "Lord" or "Lady". He believes in honourable combat, and will gladly die for the few that he can call friends. Due to his nature, he does not allow many people to become close to him, and at times, can come off as cynical, abrasive, and unsympathetic. However, he is extremely loyal, and believes strongly in the saying of "Death before dishonour."

[Class] Dark Knight

[Weapon] Galberoth wields merely one weapon, and that is his mighty greatsword, Nefasturris, a pitch-black blade imbued with the power of Darkness. The sword is 2.13 meters long, the blade itself being 1.68 meters, and the handle being 45 centimeters. The blade is so black that light struggles to escape from its surface, creating a visible aura of darkness around the blade. When in use, it crackles with black and crimson pulses of energy. The hilt has well-crafted, twisting guards, a ruby carved to resemble a lock on either side.

[Other]

Skills: Galberoth possesses the full range of abilities expected from an experienced, fully-trained Dark Knight, which consist of draining the life-force or magickal power of others, or sacrificing his own life to access extremely potent dark power that can harm and destroy his foes. He also is quite comfortable in his armour, and can move with surprising agility for someone who is so weighed down. His experience and skill in melee combat is almost unsurpassed, although he is lacking in any sort of experience with a ranged weapon of any sort, as he disdains ranged combat. His mounted combat skills are formidable, but are not quite on par as to what he is capable of on foot. He also has knowledge of Black Magick, but not nearly to the extent any Black Mage does. Due to his nature, he has a strong resistance to most harmful ailments, and the element of Darkness, but is vulnerable to the Holy element, and has no resistance to nonlethal ailments (such as a Sleep spell, or a Berserk spell). He is careful in his use of his Dark Power, for while he can monitor his own life-force, nothing stops him from over-taxing himself, and it is possible for him to kill himself from over-drawing on the powers of Darkness.

Dark Knight Abilities:

Sanguine Sword: Any creature within a relatively close vicinity can be blasted with dark power, transfering their wounds and life-force to heal his own wounds, or bolster the life-force sacrificed from other powers.

Infernal Strike: Acts very similarly to Sanguine Sword, only it drains mystical power as opposed to directly harming the target.

Darkness: The quintessential Dark Knight ability, Galberoth fluidly brings his sword up by his head, pointing towards the enemy, causing writhing tendrils of Darkness to launch forth at all nearby enemies in front of him for a moderate amount of harm and injury. The amount of life-force sacrificed is not substantial, but not negligible either.

Abyssal Blade: Swinging his sword in a wide arc, and sacrificing life-force to access the power of Darkness, Galberoth unleashes a black wave of great power, harming or killing all in large area in front of him.

Unholy Sacrifice: For a moderate sacrifice of life-force, Galberoth channels Darkness outwards, harming all in a relatively large area radiating in all directions.

Black Sky: An extremely potent attack that requires a substantial sacrifice of life-force, Galberoth creates a large area overhead, from which large orbs of dark power rain down upon any and all foes in the area, causing mass amounts of destruction. This attack is just as dangerous to allies as it is foes.

Charon: Galberoth willingly incapacitates himself, putting himself on the brink of death, to cause a massive amount of harm to a single foe, that will likely result in their own incapacitation. The dark power that consumes Galberoth surges forth from him, entombing the enemy in Darkness, as thousands of tendrils of dark power rend and tear at them whilst they are enveloped. As soon as this ends, Galberoth collapses in a heap, unable to fight. Even if White Magick is applied to Galberoth, it merely prevents death. The sacrifice will likely put him out of the battle for a long time as the power of Darkness slowly returns his soul.

Black Magick:

Elementals: Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder. All are relatively weak, and do little to tax his mystical reserves. They are reserved for removing obstacles, rather than combating foes, except in the cases in which a foe may have a special weakness. Even then, his Darkness and his blade tend to be much more effective in battle.

Second Level Elementals: Fira, Blizzara, and Thundara. These do a decent deal of harm, and moderately drain his mystical reserves. He can chose to target more than one opponent, but doing so reduces the effectiveness of the spells. Can be useful in a pinch, but still tend to be rarely used.

Bio: Infects one or more targets with a powerful, lethal poison. The less targets it is spread across, the more potent it is to each individual. Drains a moderate portion of mystical reserves.

Doom: Puts a curse upon an opponent which predetermines their demise. The opponent is fully aware of how close he is to his Doom, and of course, if capable of doing so, can dispel it. Useless against the Undead and extremely powerful opponents. This utterly drains Galberoth's mystical reserves.

In addition to the array of abilities gained by mastering the Sword of Darkness, Galberoth has learned to do the following additional techniques through training and innovation.

Orb of Darkness: Combining the principles of Black Magick with the power of Darkness, Galberoth has learned how to concentrate his dark power into orbs of black energy that he can launch at distant foes. The damage is about equal to a second-level elemental spell, and does not sacrifice any of Galberoth's life-force, although it is quite capable of draining his mystical reserves as quickly as any other second-level elemental spell is.

Fell Eruption: Similar to Unholy Sacrifice and Black Sky, Fell Eruption sacrifices a decent portion of Galberoth's life-force to do considerable damage to foes in a wide area. This manifests as a dome of dark power erupting outwards from any point he desires within a moderate distance.

Blade of Blood: Galberoth sacrifices a small portion of his life-force to empower the dark power of his blade further, causing its aura to become even more blatant and powerful. Each swing of his empowered blade can cause great injury and death with each swing. However, regardless of whether or not each hit connects, his life is sacrificed.

(Perhaps I shall think of some more later, but I believe this shall suffice. I hope it is fair and balanced.)

ARGH. The original reply to this post was deleted by sheer accident, when my browser decided on this moment to lag. Now, I have to retype everything. Please look at the length of this post and understand my pain :gonk:

KingUltros. It's impossible to say no to your character sheet. Just try to ensure your character's not invincible. The baddies must have the ability to match your character, so there's a story to speak of... Nevertheless, your character is [ACCEPTED]

Tipsynaruto, I'll be waiting for you to finish the character sheet. I'll give my approval when you're done. Meanwhile, your character sheet thus far is fine with me.

Just waiting for more people to sign up. In the meantime, here's my character sheet. This character is the leader of the Mercenary Chocobian Knight. As the story will begin with focus on the group, I will only introduce the mainstream Chocobian Knight characters at a later date. However, if interested, you are free to sign up as a member of that group, but I'll highly advise you not to, since you won't be able to join in early.

Alright, enough crap. Here's my character sheet.

[Name]
Luna Crescent

[Chocobo Name]
Moon

[Chocobo color]
White, and elegantly preened

[Age]
24

[Appearance]
FemaleAnimeWarrior-NotByMe.jpg

Her hair is not that long. It only extends down to just above her waist- though long, but is certainly better than that shown in the image. She wears a metallic hair band which serves as an ornament and doubles as a protective gear at the same time. (Which, isn't the best but, is better than nothing) Her hair color is black, as with her iris color. Generally, her tanned skin tone suggests an oriental origin.

She stands at a height of 178cm, and has never disclosed her weight.

Within the armor, she wears a simple blouse, skirt and tights within. It is this same skirt that extends out of her platemail which only protects her upper torso. The skirt, which bears the Chocobian Knight insignia, a fleur de lis, extends up to her knees. Her metal boots is continuous to the skirt.

Her armor consists of a platemail, a arm guard and her metallic boot. These three armors are specially customized to be more lightweight. It was a success, save for the fact it has a reduced ability to protect against piercing strikes as opposed to slashing strikes. This means she is more vulnerable to arrows, or any other melee weapons used piercingly.

The arm guards are just a measure provided to protect her arms, as she does not use a shield in battle. The left arm guard is given a thicker layer of protection to double as the shield.

The boots she wears has got another compartment within it as well to store the dagger she is seen holding in the picture. This, however, does not affect her movement, despite the handle sticking out of the boots.

It may not be obvious enough in the picture- which may be reflecting the orange hue of the day- but her armor is really, just, a silver color. When she uses her Holy Sword skills, it reflects the light from the blade to make her appear to be glowing.

[Personality]
In a word, laconic. She only speaks when spoken to, or when delivering an order. However, when she does speak, she gives the other party a lasting impression. When delivering order, her words are imperious and drips with compelling authority, but is not overbearing. When speaking casually, her words sound innocent, and suggests a gentle nature.

However, this isn't exactly the case. It is only in battle, that people see a different side to her. Instead of innocent and gentle, she is cold and ruthless- and despicable, to a small extent. She abides by a self-imposed rule, 'Win no matter the consequence'. Thus, no matter how, she would make sure she win the battle by hook or by crook. She does not care one hoot about 'honor', citing 'All is fair in a war' as a reason to back it up.

Thankfully, this applies only to her personal battles. She cares too much for her allies to sacrifice them for an ultimate victory. Furthermore, her talent and military expertise has rarely ever forced her into such scenarios. However, when these times come, she would usually plan a way out of it, or simply sacrifice herself to save them.

[Class]
White Knight/Paladin (Not to be confused with Holy Knight)

[Weapon]
She has never named the weapon, but it is a Greatsword- which she aptly addresses as such. Wielding it with two hands, this weapon has served the warrior for a good 7 years. The blade is adorned on both sides with 3 jewels- ruby, sapphire and emerald.

The blade is forged with a large amount of Mithril, and is extremely durable- and heavy. It weighs a considerable 4.5kg, and spans 158cm in length

Whenever she uses her Holy Sword skills, these jewels will radiate gently with white light, engulfing the entire weapon with an 'aura' of white- which really is just an optical illusion.

She has, also, in her arsenal the dagger she hides in her boots' special compartment. This dagger is also forged completely using only Mithril, and thus, is just as durable as her Greatsword.

[Other]
-Her Chocobo is fitter than most, thanks to the continuous trips it has made with Luna and her heavy weaponry.

-She is extremely well versed in military tactics, and is able to put her theory knowledge into action with ease and precision.

Skills: Being a master White Knight, she has complete mastery over the Holy Sword skill. However, she is not a fully fledged Holy Knight, as she has not displayed chivalry in her way of doing battle. Yet, it must be noted that her skills are of notable caliber.

As to the amount of Holy Sword skills she may use before being drained of energy, it must be noted that it is quite a considerable amount. Her experience and youth equates to a hefty amount of vitality which she can put at her disposal. This subsequently translates into a large amount of gargantuan amount of Holy Sword skills before she collapses.

In melee combat, she isn't a weakling, but isn't the best there is. Being able to fight just only moderately well, she often relies on her Holy Sword skills to back herself up. However, when even that fails, she wouldn't hesitate to play dirty, tossing the knife hidden in her boots.

She is also skilled in knife tossing, and archery- though she may be a little rusty (For archery only. She's an expert at knife tossing and still is).

Holy Sword skills

Blade of the Judged: By channeling holy energy through the blade, Luna released it at an enemy in the form of a beam. This beam will subsequently form into a blade and delivers moderate hurt to the opponent if it hits home.

Cleansing Strike: Similarly through channeling holy energy, Luna blasts a slightly larger beam at the enemy. This beam does not change into a sword, but delivers hurt similar to being stabbed by a blade. May be fatal if struck at the right places.

Northswain's Strike: Once again, through the channeling of holy energies, Luna summons a greatsword to strike the enemy from beneath their foot. The greatsword that appears is composed purely of holy energy, and delivers elemental damage coupled with physical damage similar to the Blade of the Judged.

Hallowed Bolt: Through the channeling of holy energy, Luna summons a bolt of lightning to strike her adversary. This is an lightning elemental strike despite the holy energies required to use the skill. It may cause the enemy to turn mute.

Divine Ruination: The ultimate Holy Sword skill. It calls for the channeling of half of the Holy energy the warrior has which is then directed out from the blade. The energy then transforms into a cloud, which releases a beam of devastating holy energy on the enemy. This skill has a homing ability that would target an enemy no matter where he is. However, it may be avoided if one moves continuously.

White Magick

Curaga: By using the mystical energy within herself, she can channel it into a beam of light that has restorative properties. Due to the ability of this spell to heal greatly, and her low amount of mystical energy, she can only cast this spell once or twice. Usually, this number of times is enough for her to turn the tide.

Life: This takes up all the mystical energy she has. Unlike what it's name hints at, it does not revive a target. Instead, it fully cures the target, returning him/her to a combat-ready state, with replenished vitality as well. However, after this spell, she will not be able to cast a second time unless she recovers all her energy.
