While we wait for Heavesward (some of us are already downloading the patch) let's read and discuss the 3.0 notes: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/e76258d6487ea30feb388f9ecc0a926fddc9eca8

What are you guys looking forward to?

I'm definitely excited for:

--Company Workshops. "Workshops can be used to craft company projects such as aetherial wheels, housing materials, and airships for your free company. Airships built by your free company can then be deployed on exploratory voyages. In order to craft company projects, players must first purchase a company workshop. The option to purchase a company workshop is available at the entrance to private chambers."

I'm guessing this is a separate room then. I thought maybe we were meant to build our airships in the basement.

--New Company Actions: Helping Hand III, Reduced Rates III, etc. Except The Helping Hand III. Oh well.

--Crafting Facility Furnishings: "...can now be used by crafting classes up to level 50." Yesssss! (Not that we have those for our FC yet, but we will...eventually.)

--Crafting Specialist System: "Disciple of the Hand classes chosen as specializations will be marked on the Classes tab."

So we get to choose our three main crafting specialists classes. WVR is definitely one of mine. The last two will probably depend on others in the FC. If we can spread our bases in the Free Company, that would be ideal. But it's really up to you and what you enjoy most. This specialist system sounds a little intimidating, so I'm a little wary to get this show on the road.

I scanned the notes, however I'm really going to have to dig in deep and read them to see changes I'm going to have to make to my configurations. Here is what I am excited about:

[2.0] The Undersized Party option has been added to the Duty Finder Settings menu

Using this option, players can participate in duties without meeting minimum party member requirements. Furthermore, role requirements, level sync, and item sync are ignored when this option is enabled

Can you say hello 3-man Primal HMs :)

[2.0] Loot rules can now be set when entering a duty while meeting the party size requirements or when using the undersized party option.

Players can access the Loot Rules tab of the Duty Finder Settings menu after meeting party size requirements, or by enabling the undersized party option. Doing so will give parties the option of using normal loot rules, greed only, or setting the party leader as lootmaster to determine individual loot distribution.

This is wonderful!

2.0] The lot window has been adjusted as follows:

Players can select Pass even when they have already selected Need or Greed if the loot has not yet been distributed.

Party members will now receive a notification in the log window when you select Need, Greed, or Pass.

Nice!

Square Enix brought the axe down on mage classes. Black Mage, White Mage and Scholar all get kicked in the face. Summoners ascend to a whole new plane of existence. :sad3:

I will miss the old Lustrate. That was always our favourite Scholar tool. It allowed me to have a clutch in the event that the tank (especially a Warrior) gets dramatic damage spike in a fight and I'm still in the middle of DPSing with Cleric Stance on. A flat 25% HP heal that ignores debuff effects and all that, making it the most unique and potent inclusion to our toolbox. New Lustrate won't be the same. Sure, it can crit and it can be more useful on non-tank members of the party, but it's just an instant, not-as-potent Cure II now.
