this is my first time playing through the game and i took him down my first attempt, didnt read any strat guides but i SAW them all over the place on this forum when i was asking for advice on other things, the name stuck in my head "prodclad" so i kept looking at boss names for when i got to him to be aware that alot of people had difficulty with him...

um, i didnt notice any rough spots except the first time he came out of stagger he went nuts and started beeming constantly, i just switched my paridigm to SEN/MED/MED, and waited it out... from there it was easy

Cuz you da bomb and dey ain't :britt: Just kiddin'!
But seriously, it's something that varies for everyone.

actually i just realized im fighting the prodclad AGAIN

maby this is the hard version? paused the game at the start of the fight just to say that

Well perhaps it thet your a better game player than others or you try harder....Some people want an easy answer so they can breeze threw the game while others I believe just dont think enough lol
I find the battles rather easy so its peobably just your skill hun

I too didn't find Proudclad to be overly difficult either of the times, sure it gets a little tougher for a short while after it has been Staggered then the gauge has ran empty and it is reset to 100.0%, but just Switch to have two Medics or even all three for the brief, rougher period, should be able to survive it then, then it's time to dish out more damage.

When I first fought him he killed me on my first attempt. but on my second attempt I did exactly what you just said and he really wasn't a problem for me.

Proudclad wasn't really that hard for me. It's just a matter of getting through that series of attacks he pulls on you after he comes out of stagger.

I didn't think he was that hard, but it took me 20 minutes and I got zero stars because the target time was 10. How anyone could be him in 10 minutes is beyond me...

Depends on the level of your characters. I found the second encounter harder because i was most likely under geared since i never upgraded and i dodged alot of creeps to get through the story. The thing he does after he buffs him self hit my lead hard even when i had 2 healers spamming me because of the stagger.

i got 5 stars on both encounters i think...

HOWEVER i DID grind CP in the central expanse for a day before leaving gran pulse

Proud Clad gave me zero issues. I never hit red health when I fought it, the relentless he unleashes is kinda nasty but nothing I couldn't handle.
The only boss that really gave me any issues was the Barthandelus fight at the end of Chapter 11, as long as he doesn't ever cast doom on you he is cake.

I died once at the first untill i noticed that he only is strong when he is in stagger than i had him quick with COM/COM/MED but the second was harder.

I had difficulty. He was far too fast for me. His little cannons that would keep firing at me about three times in 5 seconds, every 5 seconds, would prevent me from healing efficiently. This meant that, when he went to do his major attacks in response to his stagger, I was too weak to survive the blasts. If I did survive the blasts then his continual blasting with those little cannon things every few seconds would prevent me from getting my health back up, and would prevent me from actually damaging him.

For me the best way to beat him was to not stagger him. The little cannons are survivable if they are the only danger that you have to face. I just hammered Proudclad with Relentless Assault until he was close to stagger, and then I switched to Sen / Med / Med, and waited it out until his gauge had reset and I was safe to attack again without staggering him. It took ages but it got the job done.

I found the second encounter significantly easier. You still got a reaction after staggering him, but I didn't find the results of this reaction as destructive, and it wasn't every time you stagger him as he has two forms. The second fight I seemed to beat with no real problems.

Both fights would have been easy if it wasn't for the continuous firing of those annoying cannons that literally do not leave you alone. I don't think I've ever known a boss on an FF fire at you so much.
