I need help for the final boss on chapter 9.
He soooo powerful!!! :O
I did not expect him to be a fal'cie at all
Any way this is too hard :(
I summoned odin and all he did was just killed one little piece of him using all his attacks!
Thats so crazy!
Hes too powerful
Should i go back and train more and collect all the things i missed?
This guy is soo hard?
so how am i supposed to beat him
My team is lightning, vanille, and fang because being girls is fun!
lightning is a level 2 commando, level 2 ravenger, and level 1 medic
Vanille is a level 2 ravenger,lever 1 sabatour, and level 2 medic
Fang is a level 2 commando, sentinel and sabatour
Im doing diversity and combat clinic most of the time in this battle but at the begging i had vanille posien him and do debuff and things like that.
How am i supposed to beat him?
Just train like crazy intil my fingers bleed?
or should i use stratagy?
And btw this game is very hard.
Im amazed i got this far.
i usally play games like the scooby doo adventures
but anyway back to the point, help me?

Edit: and btw dont forget to congradulate me for getting so far on your posts

Edit Edit: Also i will change my team as long as i dont have to change vanille.

It's probably safer to save Odin until the doom counter is imposed on you.

Lightning, Fang and Hope serve as the game's most balanced team, however I replaced Fang with Snow to use Tri Disaster and drive his chain gauge up extremely quickly. In the short spaces you have to hurt him.

I suggest the following paradigm deck:

Lightning
> Snow > Hope

Ravager, Ravager, Ravager
Ravager, Commando, Ravager
Ravager, Sentinel, Ravager
Commando, Sentinel, Ravager
Medic, Sentinel, Synegist
Commando, Sentinel, Medic

Start with the fifth (protection) then when you have a wide range of buffs switch to delta attack (fourth) then after the first round switch to either the sixth (for healing) or if you want to drive up his chain gauge switch to third (mystic tower).

Only switch to tri disaster and relentless assault when you're either close to filling his chain gauge or have done so respectively.

Try to time you're attacks with Lightning (leader) using Triangle/Y to juggle him in the air. Don't worry about defense seeing as he won't be able to attack you whilst he's airbourne.

Before his first stagger he shows his stance switches in on screen captions, after that you'll have to tell from his behaviour. When he goes into his defensive stance you should switch to tri disaster straight away. You won't be able to deal much damage but his chain gauge will go through the roof.

Good Luck.

I used Lightning, Fang, and Hope. You need to target the left & right Pauldrons & Ailettes first, then once they're gone, go for the main body.
Use Librascope to get info on everything, as each Pauldron & Ailette is weak against certain things.
I mainly switched between 'Perserverance' (MED/MED/RAV), and 'Relentless Assault'. When it does its Destructo, heal everyone so they all are at full health, go to 'Relentless Assault' and go all out for the 20-30secs before it discharges. Just before he does that, switch to I think 'Perserverance' and then heal everyone that needs urgent attention.

Barthandelus?

I had some trouble with him however, I don't think he ever did doom on me xD
I didn't beat him the first time around maybe like the fourth?
I'd grind until your maxed out where your characters can't learn anything.

Another thing that made it easier on me was to cast a thing (dont member what is called) where it cast veil, protect etc at the start of battle. Made it a lot easier. If you have one of those cast that before the cutsence.

This is who I used:

Lightning
Hope (though, Vanille might be okay too)
Fang

(some suggestions)
Relentless Assault (Rav, Com, Rav)
Tireless Charge (Com, Com, Med)
Combat Clinic (Med, Sen, Med)
Protection (Med, Sen, Syn)

Med, Sab, Syn (can't rember what its called :8F:)

I'd first make Fang in SEN
Hope in RAV
Lightning COM

Make them focus everything on Fang while hope heals and Lightning attacks (use blitz to damage both)
I'd also have them be in COM, COM, MED where both Lightning and Fang attack and Hope heals.

Try not to focus on just healing. I'd only heal if needed.

He also haste the guys that do magic so, that's where Vanille would be good at and despeling it cause I dont think Fang can learn that at that point. But, If i were you i'd play it safe at the start (high magic) and then after you kill the heads, go off on that mofo. I'd only use Odin at the end when hes about to die. When he uses that one move attack some (he has to charge up) then go to MED, MED and SEN.

Hope that helps some!

FUCK YOU ALL.
None of this shit works.

I just spend 40 minutes and managed to kill all his heads. Then I was down to his main dickhead, and was doing fine. Then he started "destrudo" and I survived the first one. Then when he was charging his second one, I was holding "autoheal" ready in combat clinic. But then it killed Lightning. FUCK

UGh... I did it! I FINALLY FUCKING FANTASICALLY DID IT

1. Leveled everyone to level 3
2. Used Lightning, Vanille and Saz
3. Used Heroes charge and Relentless assault only!
4. Used Odin midway on main dickhead
5. Chained like hell during destrudo charging

Just done it now, on my second attempt, he caught me off guard the first time. :(

Party: Lightning, Hope, Fang

First off, take out the faces. Each face has a weakness, you can either use libra to find out which, or if you want to keep your TP, just look at what magic they use. Use Fire against the one casting Blizzara, Thunder/Lightning strike against the one casting water and so on.

Main Paradigms:
Diversity (Rav, Med, Com)
Bully (Com, Syn, Sab)
Relentless Assualt (Rav, Rav, Com)

Before you start the battle, set your Paradigm to Bully. This way, upon entering the battle Hope will immediate begin to cast things like Protect and Shell, while Fang will be casting things like Slow.

Once you're happy with your "buffs" switch to Diversity. Do not use Auto-battle if you've not used Libra as you may end up healing the faces. I worked left to right on the faces, just keep Lightning using the opposite element to what the face is casting, once it's downed, move on to the next one and repeat.

For the main battle, switch between Relentless Assualt and Diversity to keep the chains going aswell as keeping yourself healed. When he starts charging Destrudo, check if your buffs, if they've worn off, switch back to Bully until you're happy, then switch back to Relentless Assualt/Diversity.

That's how I downed him anyways.

The first time I didn't realise I hadn't added Diversity to my Paradigms, and the other healing ones sucked, so was kinda screwed. :(
