Hi,

I've only had my PS3 a few days and had just completed XIII. I was in the middle of backing it up to USB drive when I don't know what happened but my save file is gone from both the PS3 and USB stick. Would someone be kind enough to give me their save file so I don't have to start over from the begging?

I don't mind where I start from but would it still be possible for me to get my missing trophies using another save?

Thanks in advance! :)

You don't have all of your trophies? Even without your save files, your trophies should still remain once you've obtained them. Otherwise, I think you'll have to earn them yourself all over again, unfortunately.

Odd situation you're in, though. Sounds like the files may have been corrupted somehow, but I know little of that techie stuff.

Good luck, bud.

The Final Fantasy XIII saves on PS3 are copy-protected, so it's pretty much impossible to play with one unless you wish to complete it in one sitting and lose all your data once you are done. You can't save while using a copy-protected save game.

I've never actually done this before, so I don't know for certain, but it would make sense to me that once you entered the game with someone else's save file you could then save the game again to a new file which would then be like any normal save. I highly doubt this would do anything for your trophies, though. If I understand them correctly, the trophies apply in real-time to your PSN account as you achieve each goal; loading a save file wouldn't magically produce a slew of trophies, in other words.

I've only had my PS3 for a few days too though, so I'm not 100% sure. You don't want my FFXIII save either; I'm only 6 hours in.

There's really nothing you can do bud.

The FFXIII save files aren't copy protected, but they are user protected. Meaning, that you can load the save file, but you can't save, or earn trophies when you do.

I don't suppose you have any backups on another USB.

By the way,

Go to your USB on the computer and actually check if the saves are there.

If your PS3 says no saved files,

You have to make a folder called

PS3

Inside PS3, create SAVEDATA

But I assume you know that part.

Thank you all for your replies and I apologies if my post was not clear English is not my first language and I was quite annoyed at the time of posting. I still have my trophies I made a PSN account just before my save file was lost. My sister pulled the PS3 plug out while vacuuming by accident and the and that's all I know now it won't load.

Hayabusa thank you I didn't know this I've just started playing games really so don't know much about the PlayStation. I tried your suggestions sadly it still didn't work my fault I really should have been backing up from the start. It "only" took 30 hours and perhaps I'll be a little quicker on my new playthrough.

Thank you all again you can consider this thread closed. :)
