Help FFXIII: Intimiating entrance any tips ?

Okay i just went through the movie scene after beating barthenadlas for the final time. and now i have to fight orphan straight away it nearly killed my entire team. think it was about 6 k damage on each person.

any tips on fighting him?
im a good strategest i just think that if i take too many of those first attacks he did i aint gonna last long.

That first move is guaranteed to take your HP to critical. It deals damage based on your HP. I think it can only kill you if you're under a lot of negative status ailments.

i'd immediately suggest healing, then switching to a Synergist oriented Paradigm and buffing yourself up. Then debuffing him with a Saboteur oriented Paradigm. The real status ailment you wanna get on him is Imperil. It makes him weak to all elements.

After that, switch back to your Synergist paradigm and cast Enfire/Enfrost/Enwater/Enthunder on everyone, so you can exploit his weakness even as a Commando.

His attacks that cause status ailments are Necrosis and Chains of Torment. When he Consumates Darkness, I'm pretty sure it causes status ailments too. Heal them every now and then, but not every time you get one. You'll be there all day.

He is vulnerable to Poison, so try and get that on him if you have the patience. It'd be a big help.

Aside from that, blast away at him, heal when necessary, and reapply buffs/debuffs on a regular basis, preferably after every Merciless Judgment. You'll be done in no time.

There is a boss after this, but it isn't nearly as challenging as this guy. And this one isn't even that hard. Just think fast and switch Paradigms when necessary.

its okay i beat him. i was just intimidated by his appearance and the fact he had over 6mil hp.
seriously worried meself over nothing. i didnt do the poison thing you mention but i did more or less everything you read before you said it haha
how silly such a big bad boss would be weak to so many elements.
