I'm trying to get the Growth Egg item to double my Cp experience, I heard you have to do mission 55 to get it.. Question is, how do I get mission 55 and where is it?

I think its in Vanilles hometown on top of the school. You start the mission there and travel to gran paulse. From there take a chocobo to the star where you will have to fight Neo Ochu. Have Vanille in the party and cast death on it. This fight can be super hard but if your lucky you will kill it within reasonable time. Save before you fight.

Like it was stated above,
The Cieth Stone is in Oerba on top of the school,
then you must go al the way back to Gran Pulse to fight the Neochu.
This battle was really hard for me, I'm not gonna lie.
I used Vanille/Snow/Hope
SAB/SEN/SYN
SAB/SEN/MED
RAV/RAV/RAV
RAV/COM/RAV

I'd like to make a quick correction here.

Oerba is ON Gran Pulse...Gran Pulse is the world. Archylte Steppe is the big open area (similar to FFX's Calm Lands).

You get the mission from Oerba, then you have to go back to the Archylte Steppe. You also have to be able to ride chocobos as you need a chocobo to get to the area where the Neochu is. If you look on the internet for a map of the Archylte Steppe, it is to the Northeast. If you have trouble finding it, go to the Cie'th stone circle, then travel east until you find a spot you can jump up with a chocobo, then you should come to a small wide open area and directly ahead should be the Neochu.

You need to complete missions 1-7 to get the Chocobo to get you to the area where the mission acutally is. You have to do this first before even bothering with going to Oerba for the mission 55 stone. After that, you need SAB/SEN/SEN or SAB/SEN/MED and spam the crap out of death to kill the big guy.

Death Spam, Death Spam, Death Spam. :rage:

ohh gawd it took me forever to get it, I remember getting this, My main party was normally Light, Fang and Hope. but for the Ochu i swapped Hope for Vanille. after w few attempts i decided to mix it up and put Snow and Sazh in my party.... Only went and killed the damn thing, with my weak party, still managed to finish of its little minions and such.

Morale of the story: your best team may never get the job done :mokken:

The growth egg mission was frustrating for me as well.

That mutant neochu was such a pain :rage:

However... once I got the right party...and had enough time to sit there and keep going at it for about a half an hour...I finally beat him and I got it.

My party was Vanille as a saboteur for my lead...and Snow and Fang for Sentinels. I kept them as sentinels because it was pretty pointless to even keep one character for a medic...you get more time to cast more deaths on the Neochu therefore increasing the chances that one of them will actually work. Vanille really needs the shoes that cast an automatic haste on her though because you will not have enough time to be able to wait and cast it on yourself. Max out Snow and Fang with as many defensive items as well..that way they can last longer before they die. Don't forget to have some offensive paradigms for when it actually hits...one with a medic so you can heal up and take out the microchu's.

Good luck. :monster: Patience is a virtue if you really want the growth egg...because its not about skill in getting it, its about luck.

I was disappointed when I finally got it though. You do level up really fast with it when you get it, but when you finally max out your Crystarium you are kind of like uh oh...this is it the game is over and there's nothing left to do after you've done the missions.

This isn't the only mission where luck will be a massive factor, so I'd say suck it up and keep trying. BTW Fortisol/AutoHaste will make a massive difference in how many times you'll be able to cast death.

another little tip is, if you upgrade vanilles belladonna wand to a marlboro wand you will have the improved debuff II synthesised ability which will increase your chances of inflicting death also, equipping hermes sandals (Auto-haste) and Aurora scarf (First-strike) will also give you the ATB +10% synthesised ability so for every 10 rounds you get an extra turn, if you add more boost group accessories you could get ATB+15% or 20%
