Help FFXIII: Effing missable chest

Okay, so I've been happily enjoying the game so far, but now I'm literally pissed to the point of outright rage.

I've just learned, by way of the ever-so-fucking-useless weapons guide I've got here, that I missed getting the Axis Blade for Lightning. (Which was in a chest, btw, what stupid fuck puts a good weapon in a CHEST?) The last save point I have to get it is quite a ways back -- about a chapter's worth behind -- and I really need to fucking know:


IS THIS WEAPON WORTH THE BACKTRACK TO ACQUIRE IT? IS IT REALLY THAT GREAT OR SHOULD I WAIT FOR BETTER?

Please help me out here guys.
 
Thats a big fat NO! DM of all of lights upgradable weapons this has the lowest potential for stat building somewhat in the region of 200 point less than than the others.

So its your choice all weapons can be upgraded to there ultimate forms its that not all end up with the same stats.

I wouldn't say it's worth it, the Axis Blade is a pretty weak weapon, and any of the weapons for Lightning you already have will be superior to it. You can, however, buy it from a shop later in the game though, if I recall correctly.
 
Your going for an additional attack rate? there are far better Synthesis abilities to be used IMO, but if you want an extra attack go for it, you have t utilize all of your Accessory slots to get a decent return from the Boost ability though.
 
Not really you still have to finish the bastard game lol

It goes like this.......initially Auto protect/shell/haste /bravery last for about the first 2-3 minutes of a battle, with all of your ACC slots taken up it can be extended +90% of that time........WOW!!!

I remember a time when Auto abilities lasted for freakin ever.
