Yeah, back in early February-late January I tried again to beat XIII. And what do you know, another Aeon Battle. Anyway, I'm curious of how to capture Vanille's Aeon? Also, am I almost at the end? I don't like leaving Final Fantasy games unfinished.

Thread title edited to avoid some confusion as the summons are called Eidolons in this game, and...

#1...not really. I'd say you're a little more than halfway through, but not by much.

I'd open up with SAB/SEN or SAB/COM until Hecatoncheir is suitably debuffed. If I remember correctly Hecatoncheir attacks in bursts, so use RAV/COM when it isn't attacking and SEN/MED when it does. Make sure to keep up the debuffs...and don't forget to press Square. :wacky:

Yeah. As Ness has said Hecaton attacks in bursts, and really RAV/RAV is a more suitable arrangement for when Hecaton is using Looming Wrath, since his Eidolon Gauge increases faster when Saboteur, Medic and Ravager roles are being used. Even teaching Fang one move from the Ravager and possibly Medic roles is approriate.

When it comes to his actual attacks, you can either go on the offensive with Saboteur or Ravager with Vanille while Fang stays in Sentinel (which I highly recommend), or you can optionally stay on the defensive and simply heal as needed while Fang defends.

When it actually goes into Looming Wrath, always start healing before switching into Ravager mode. Even better, have Fang healing too, since that'll jump his gauge even quicker. Hope that helps a little, despite how unstructured it was. :rage:

I've been playing FFX lately and got the summon names mixed up, my bad.

Hm, I'll try out these suggestions. For some reason this eidolon seems to be more obnoxious to beat than all of the others (except Odin). It'll probably take me a few tries but hopefully this information helps.
