Ok, so I've tried this one a few times. It's really getting on my nerves. I just can't beat them. I swatted Caius like a fly. I don't have any problems until they get revived and use that triple mega flare attack then I always die, even in combat clinic with full health. I'm pretty sure I could survive it with the Tortoise paradigm (SEN/SEN/SEN) But I can't find any monsters with the Sentinel role. Any advice?

What level are Serah and Noel in each role?
What are their stats, HP, Strength, Magic, Defence?

You really do need a monster senitel. I completed the game with a Pulse Knight from the tunnel areas at Bresha Ruins AF003, which was maxed out at level 20. You could also hunt for a Lancer in the Vile Peaks 200AF, which will have better stats, or a Silver Chocobo in Academia 4XX AF.

In regards to the Chocobo, the info comes from IGN:
After you unlock the Advance Moogle Hunt Ability, go inside the Academy Headquarters and look where the green projection is. Throw the Moogle to the projector and you should find the crystal. If you rank him up and infuse the Pulse Knight you will have a sentinel with about 11000 HP. Also, he is really good in the Chocobo races if you only use the Monster Materials that don't specialize in a skill. Final Strength and Magic are around 800 each, and Maxes out at level 45.

Even with the best defence it'll be hard to survive that attack with all three Bahamauts alive. You must use Relentless Assault or Cerberus (with three commandos) to get rid of one bahamaut as soon as possible. I kept focussing on the Amber one first, then the Garnet. I'd recommend using a Librascope as soon as the battle begins so that you can detect their weaknesses. The Amber is resistent to magic and the Garnet is resistent to physical attacks.

Watch the countdown too. When it reaches 2, use Combat Clinic to heal and switch to Tortoise at 1. Another alternative is to switch to Tortoise at 2 and use the rest of the time to heal with Potions, which I myself found to be more effective.

I would also recommend not having a monster as your medic. Instead, use Serah and Noel and have your monster Senitel as the third in that party.

My paradigm pack was as follows. Serah (S), Noel (N) Monster (M)

S: Sen - N: Sen - M: Sen (Tortoise)
S: Rav - N: Com - M: Rav (Relentless Assault)
S: Med - N: Med - M: Sen (Combat Clinic)
S: Com - N: Com - M: Com (Cerberus)
S: Rav - N: Com - M: Sen (Delta Attack)
S: Sab - N: Med - M: Rav (Variety)

Oh, I would recommend taking in 40-50 Potions, 15 Phoenix Downs and 30 Wound Potions. I found it far more effective to use Potions 2/3 of the time to replenish health at regular intervals, with Combat Clinic after major assaults from the Bahamauts and Variety (Sab, Med, Rav) when Amber or Ruby were nearing the stagger point.

what you could also try if you want to go for the heal to survive tactic, you could try salvation (MED/MED/MED) i always have this formation in my paradigm pack, very good for rapid healing, also carry some wound potions as well, always help to gain some hp back from wound damage.

i quite like using bully at the start of the battle as well (SAB/SYN/COM) get noel to be a SYN to add things like protect to your party, and whenever you start seeing the protect etc come off, switch back to bully, control noel and add the protect and that back on the party

I finished the boss fight, for the two dragons, go into SYN/SYN/MED at the start of the battle, and whenever you need to, then switch to RAV/COM/RAV to get the commando effect on the chain gauge, then RAV/RAV/RAV and get a stagger, finally, COM/COM/COM and beat the crap out of them until dead. for healing, lots of remedys, and wound potions. then use SEN/MED/MED whenever you need to heal. when you start the countdown for any of the flare attacks, MAKE SURE YOUR FULLY HEALED. dw about causing damage. go to SEN/MED/MED and heal heal heal, serah defense bonus should let you survive as long as all your roles are about lv50. you might not survive the triple flare, but with this tactic, i found that he never had a chance to get triple flare out.

I rav/rav/rav take down first dragon. Then same to the other. /com/com/com when staggered. Med/med/syn the go after third dragon. Rav/rav/rav make sure you kill the eggs he throws with seeds of evil. Idk if they make the dragons spawn faster but that's what I did. Then sen/sen/med (make sure to actually use a defensive move and not just sit there as a sen or use provoke.) keep doing that and he's gone. Was like a 18min battle for me.

The simplest and most effective answer I can give you is train. I went to fight them earlier then even I expected aswell, but that's because I was near the end-game with 4500 HP. I usually expect to be around 8000 at least, but non the less XIII-2 felt relatively easy in that aspect. But yeah, the teraflare whooped me too.. :olivia:

After said whooping, I went back and got the Rolling in CP & Battlemania fragment skills, resulting in me getting a shed load of CP to fill my roles. I only had 2 left to fill for each character respectively before I went for round 2 and it was childs play. You'll also no doubt gather tons of monster materials to fill their crystarium aswell. I went with the Green Chocobo as a Med and Orion as my Com. The rest weren't required. Equip Silver Bangles aswell to get a boost in HP (+16 I think).

My tactic was also simple and effective. Start with Syn/Sab/Med to cast things like Protectga, Shellga & Vigilaga on yourself whilst debuffing him then change to Com/Rav/Med to steady the stagger bar to begin with, switching again to Rav/Rav/Med to fill it, then to Com/Com/Com when staggered and it should be owned by the time your bar reaches half way down. Rinse and repeat this on the second. As for the third, my tactic remained the same till his countdown reached 1 (Always keep an eye out for his counter) then quickly swapped to Sen/Sen/Med and still had over half my HP after the attack. Also, watch out for the seeds he drops. They are easy to take out. Take a few Potions/Wound Potions/Pheonix Downs to be on the safe side.

If you don't have the Rolling in CP fragment skill then to get it you'll need to collect every fragment from the Bresha Ruins & Yaschas Massif time lines.

For Battlemania, it increases the rate of tougher enemies to appear, in-turn granting you better CP (And cooler monster pets :busta:). You'll need to uncover 100% of every map to get this skill. Time consuming I know, as you'll need to collect just about every Wild Fragment in order to achieve this.

Once you're done, head to Serendipity and talk to the Chocolina'esque girl in the building to the left to get the skills.

This is probably the best strategy for this fight. To be honest I think the fight appears to be more colossal than it actually is. The trick is to get rid of the first two chaos bahamuts as swiftly as possible. Save your ultima arrow and meteor javelin for the Jet Bahamut.

Use Rav Rav Com to start the stagger meter building, then switch to Rav Rav Rav until staggered. Continue with Rav Rav Rav until the % of the Stagger increases enough for you to deal large damage, then switch to Com Com Com to finish off the first two.

Never use med med med to heal, if you want super healing; use one of the player characters as a sentinel. The reason for this is when you are healing, you are defenceless. Unless you have full stats, 3 healers can be wiped out fairly quickly, or just get caught in limbo as the monsters attack and you try to heal. If both of your player characters die, then you get game over. So if one of your player characters remains sentinel, it reduces the chances of that happening. In this scenario, I use the sentinel to dish out wound potions and remedies.

When you finally get to the Jet Bahamut, immediately heal the all members of your party, and then start pounding it with Rav Rav Rav. The moment it is staggered, use ultima arrow to push the stagger meter up. Once that is done, continue with Rav Rav Rav until the % reaches 999 so you know for sure you are dealing the maximum amount of damage possible. Then switch to com com com and use Noels Meteor Javlin.

If you do it that way, you should be able to kill the Jet Bahamut before the other two respawn.

If you are still struggling, go back some and do some grinding. Try getting a hold of chaos weapons and decent monsters. A good one is the Cloudburst as its synchronisation heals wound damage and buffs the party, increasing the rate at which you can fill stagger meters!
