Help [FFX] After the desert, this al bhed place which has been attacked

You might think this is a bit of a stupid or silly question? lol but I'm in this place which is owned by the Al Bhed, Rikku leads you there and it's been attacked by the Guado and at one point after you have gone up this elevator, a couple of Chimera as well as a Gudao guard attack. I don't seem to be having too much trouble killing the Guado guy, it's just the two Chimera and they seem a lot stronger as well. What is the best method of attack on them and who should I have in my party to be able to fight them? I currently have Rikku, Tidus and Lulu. They keep killing me everytime even though I do shield from the fire and water attacks but they still keep killing me! lol

Maybe consider using Kimahri's Stone Breath. It saved my life for every fight in that area. If you don't have it, the above post works just as well.

Silence.

That was my best friend throughout that entire area. Mainly because the Chimera uses lots of magic, and only a few physical attacks. I wouldn't bother using Lulu, really, because the Guado seem to always use silence on her, and it can be a pain trying to keep removing that status.

I'd go for all attackers, I'm pretty sure my party consisted of Auron, Wakka, and Tidus at that point, bringing in Yuna for healing.

Kimahri's limit breaks, stone breath in particular, work wonders against large opponents such as the Chimera. I'd suggest building up his overdrive from easier fights, and then using it for this battle.

Okies, thanks for all the advice guys :] Unfortunately I don't have Yuna back yet as she is still captured or something, I can't choose her to join my party at the moment, so I've been using Rikku and her Al Bhed potion to heal everytime. But I'm gonna try and give it another go but have Tidus, Auron and Wakka in my party this time and see how it goes.

D'oh. That's right, Yuna isn't back yet. I must have meant Rikku, for her Al-Bhed potions and items.

Give that a go, hope it works!

EDIT

Also, if you don't have Wakka's Silence Attack/Buster or Darkness Attack/Buster yet (which you probably do by now), I'd suggest getting those. They'll help you a lot in the upcoming events and on the Chimeras.

They were no problem for me

you could use auron to power break them. they are resistent to fire and water. diddo on rikku. concentrate on one at a time. they have 9000 hp. use rikku to steal also, they have some good items for elemental damage.
