Help [FF7PC] Game freezes at a point, need someone to play past it for me. (City of Ancients 2nd visit)

Hi. I registered here just to sort out this problem I have with my FF7 on the PC. I'm close to finishing the game and would really hate to stop playing here just because the game gives me a black screen.

I'm at the part where you visit the Forgotten Capital for the 2nd time with Bugenhagen. He inserted the Key and a waterfall flows onto the platform, but when I talk to him to view the projection on that altar, the game freezes.

My save file. Head right from where you start and just play through the cutscene and save as soon as you cross it. Re-upload the new file.

I probably won't check back here so be sure to email it to me and not post it here.

Have you tried cleaning you disc? What kind of PC do you have?

hmmm i was gonna say try cleaning the disc........

Well, with the PC version he is probably not using a disc... He's probably mounted an image or there is a program associated with his files that mounts the image.

If you haven't already, try running the game as an administrator by right clicking the shortcut or the direct .exe (id try them both) and selecting "Run As Administrator".

That problem only occurs when running an illegal version of the game.

Regardless of your hideous disloyalty, you can get the game to work past that point by installing the right video codex.

If you upload your save00.ff7 file, located in C:\ProgramFiles\FinalFantasy7\Saves,
then I'll play past that point and re-upload it for you.
