The European Box Cover Art for the PS3 and Xbox 360 has appeared on the web, moving away from the traditional logo on a plain white background, the new installment will feature the main character Lightning appear along with the logo.

Also, a magazine interview with the head nocho, Motomu Toriyama confirms the main storyline will take about 50-60 hours to finish, this of course doesn't include the sidequests like the Cie Corpses' missions for example.

Head nocho obviously doesn't have a clue, we were told agessss ago that the main storyline would last around 50 hours. As for the cover, I don't like it - it looks tacky. Give me back the traditional cover with just the logo anyday and do away with the most pointless image stuck on the front for the sake of it.

If they aren't going to give us the traditional cover, at least give us the same one as America with full on images rather than a shitty half-arsed design stuck in the middle of both designs

What? Why is this the cover of the game in Europe? We have always had the traditional FF logo on the front with a plain white background. It has usually been that way- why is it being changed now? The minimalist effect is what kept the FF covers unique in that sense. What is the reason for changing it?

It's not even that well done anyway. That image of Lightning is not the best image I've ever seen of her. It's like SE approached a graphics student to do some photoshopping in a hurry. As Ryan said, if we are to divert away from tradition, why can't they choose to have a whole character ensemble commonly done in the USA?

I'm assuming that's how it usually is in Europe only, because my copy of FFXII quite clearly doesn't have a blank background, but I'm American.

Anyway, I don't HATE the cover. It's still simple, besides the addition of a character on there. Also, I think that image might have been used because it's somewhat of an upskirt shot. Unfortunate, but probably true.

I don't think it's that bad. It's a really nice image of Lightning. Can't really go wrong with that ;D

It is odd that they've changed the cover style for Europe, but no matter it looks good enough to me. I can't wait to see it on the shelves and the xbox one in my grubby hands

I've noticed the ps3 one looks sharper than the xbox one does, did they do that on purpose to make a point? Also the ps3 one looks like the pics have been cut and pasted on, the background near the top it's very clear.
