Favorite Job

I liked hunter, because it seriously reminded me of Robin Hood, and Mystix Knight because it has this cool Arabian knight look, which is really cool.

Mystic Knight. Both because of the look of the sprite itself, and the tremendous usefulness of the ability: One casting and you are golden for the rest of the battle, particularly against
OMEGA

My favorite job in V is the Samurai. Not only does it hit hard (it tends to be the first class my damage goes into the 1000s with) with a high critical hit rate (due in part to katanas though, right?), they can evade attacks quite often and have Zeninage (Gil Toss) and Iainuki (Slash...chance to insta-kill all enemies).

My second favorite is Mystic Knight. Spell Blade is awesome. I don't recall if it works on Katanas, but if it does, I really should try using a Samurai with Spell Blade...It's been a while since I've played V, so I don't really recall.

I haven't gotten extremely far but I think sword magic works on any weapon... including not having a weapon at all.

Hands down, has to be Blue Mage. It was the first appearance of them, and any class that learns to mimic enemy attacks is the one for me. Also, bonus points for looking like fantasy setting superheroes (doesn't really make sense, but that's alright). Some of my favourite characters evolved out of this job, and my favourite materia in FF7 mimics the job.

Combo this with a beastmaster, and you're good to go. Powerful?, not necessarily, but certainly fun.

I'm petty sure it's only swords and knives. Now, what I don't recall is whether swords would also include katanas (as far as spell blade is concerned). But I do know that not all swords work with spell blade.

After checking though, it looks like most swords and daggers can be used in conjunction with spell blade, but katanas can't. Oh well. I'm pretty sure in their descriptions, weapons will say something like "Spell blade ok".

Whatevs besides I'm only in world 1 and I still didn't get the earth crystal. Also I love Ninjas.

I liked to use time mage/monk combination, as time mages' are only really useful at the at the start of the battle in my opinion and therefore I wanted something for them to do afterwards. Also sorcerer's and summoners were often used.

I'd call summoners my overall favourite.

In terms of design, Blue Mage, it was a new innovation for the series at the time, and I really loved the idea of being able to use a monster's abilities, and also that the Blue Mage would therefore be less of a generic class than White, Black or Red Mages. In terms of actual effectiveness though, Summoners and Mime are a favourite because of how strong they are when used together, especially versus bosses with multiple targets, like the final boss.

Blue mage, definitely. I love the spells and all their effects; they look the most interesting for me, plus they are darn useful. It is surprisingly satisfying to kill a boss/mini-boss with lvl 5 doom. Plus who doesn't want to be a superhero that is pretty much like Rogue from X-men? (Or Peter Petrelli from the TV show Heroes).

freelancer for two reasons:

1). Everyone looks cool while a freelancer.
2). Once you have mastered all the jobs then if you go to frrelancer you can equip any 2 abilities and you still have all the stats from the other jobs.

I'd have to say Bard or Blue Mage.

I like Blue Mages for their appearance (which looks awesome on all characters) and their usefulness. They can be damage dealers (Aeroga), buffers (Mighty Guard), and healers (White Wind).

Bard, on the other hand, I like mostly because I like music....but also because used well they can really benefit a team. There's nothing like a group of singers maxing all your stats in the last battle.

I love Red Mages. They're amazing. They can do decent damage wielding a sword and can cast white and black magic. That is just a great class right there (That is until you get further and unlock better classes).

Me personally I was always a fan of the Lancer class. I remember always Bartz always bailing me out on multiple occasions because I would always have him to jump and he would avoid enemies attacks. The next class I really enjoyed is a toss up between Ninja/Mimic/Time. I probably would've enjoyed Red Mage, but I didn't spend alot of time with that class as I should've. Blue mage had it's moments, as did Black Mage. The Archer class was fun to play with and in my opinion one of the most under appreciated classes in the game.
