Whose your Favorite Final Fantasy Villain?

If you reply, please write the reason you choose that villain. :)

For me, I'd have to say Kefka Palazzo from Final Fantasy VI. He was just so evil compared to the other final fantasy villains. Who do you think?

My favorite was seymour, even though he was not there on the list -__-. He gave me so many suprises and kept me into the game just so i could feel pleasure at hearing him talk and do something. He was the coolest in my opinion

Venat, because he accomplished exactly what he set out to do

Give mankind back control of it's own destiny and take away power from his fellow gods

I am not sure if he should be called a villain or an anti-hero, because he actually ended up helping Ivalice out

I haven't played all of the FF games so I really wouldn't know who to pick. So until I play all of them I think that Kuja is my favorite villain (first FF game I played). I ended up feeling so sorry for him. He was trying to defy his destiny. Although I don't blame him. After I've played them all then I'll come back, because it will most likely change!

I voted Sephiroth, because he (thought he) had a legitimate reason for what he had to do. He was misunderstood, powerful through no fault of his own, and world-renowned as one of the greatest warriors that ever lived. The tragedy of his rise and fall to grace is what makes him a great villain in my opinion.

Honourable mentions to Golbez and Jecht, I quite liked those too, as they had their reasonably human sides to the them.

I'd have to say Kuja.

He appears from nowhere and corrupts Garnets mother, then tries to kill you, THEN goes and tries to blow up the world.

He has some issues and needs to see a therapist.

I never really played 6 but ive played the ones after them.

Im not much of a fan of 7 tbqh..

I wouldnt say Ultimecia is the greatest villain as she has to use somebody to do her work for her. Plus I never really got into 8.

I like how Kuja creates a War using Brahne and how he can conjure up monsters from the mist. His Melodic/Poetic way of talking is a nice add as hes not just some big tough bad guy.

I wouldnt really say Jecht is a bad guy.. A prick yes but not much a bad guy. Plus ive never liked the big buff cocky type people.

Er Wow !

There is so many good Villains in the Final Fantasy series that it's really hard to choose a straight-out favourite, but guess that it would be Kuja from IX.

Fell in love with Kuja's Villainy when that haunting upbeat music played when he first appeared in Burmecia. Also loved him more when saw him during the Auction house and just loved how he was kinda saying - " Hey I can defeat the world and still have the spare time to collect nice and flashy items.." :3

Also liked his character more when you find out the reasons behind his Villainy.
Kuja then had the power that made you want out to reach out and feel sorry for him. Never felt sorry for a Villain before playing Final Fantasy IX..

Second place would have to be Garland because don't know just found the character quite funny, wanting to knock down the Light Warriors like bowling pins. And controlling time so he could be the ruler of the past, present and future is quite original and very smart. Not to mention he was the first one.

I just went on the games I've already played and i probably picked the run of the mill answer: Sephiroth.

I just like how he managed to corrupt himself due to his longing for "mother". He probably began being genuinely/decently nice but he just became crazier and crazier. As Robbledbee said, he was incredibly misunderstood.

Though i think a lot more people would have been accidently killed by that sword -__-

I'd have to say Kefka of VI. He is one of the few bad guys who is a constant throughout the entire game and constantly shows his evil side. I guess you could say he was the easiest villan to connect with as he was not a supernatural force as is seen in many of the games, he was simply a man controlled by his greed and lust for power.

For me, and I assume many others, it boils down to Kefka vs. Sephiroth. In which case it's an easy victory on Kefka's side. For one, he stayed true to the darkside throughout the story, unlike most 'memorable' Final Fantasy Villains, another thing is the fact that he actually accomplished his goal before the Returner's actually defeated him. I mean... with the whole clown theme, how could you not love him? What did Sephiroth have? Emo? Hahaha!

Although he isn't a main villain, I always thought that seymour form X was a pretty sweet villain. He was plain insane, and you got to fight him 4 times, each in a stronger form, that was more demented each time. Also, he originally controlled Anima, which was probably one of the best summons (imo) in the game.

Sephiroth for just being so badass.
Kefka because he was insane, a true villian, and had that infectious laugh. Plus, his Dancing Mad theme is awesomesauce.

I would have said Seymour or Kuja just a few years ago. But since Crisis Core has delved much deeper into Sephiroth, he knicks the top spot.

I love the fact that he wasn't evil in any respect and simply the trauma of losing his friends then finding out the truth about himself led him to snap. Now, whenever I play VII or watch AC, I see him in a far more tragic light. He is clearly insane and is no longer the same man he was.

I like Kefka 'coz Kefka is a little nuts. And most of the juts are villain. Kefka comes complete with his own little diddy and a funny dance. If Kefka were a real person he'd be more popular than Prince.

I've not played them all, so my range of choice is a little restricted. However I'm pretty fond of Venat as mentioned earlier: Venat accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. Perhaps not viewed wholly as villanious as, say, Kefka, Sephiroth and/or Kuja, but he/she is definitely one I've warmed up to over time.

I'll vote for Venat, but there'll always be the soft spot for Kuja. <3
