Exdeath

I loved Exdeath as a villian. I thought it was awesome that he was a tree :) Sure, he wasn't as developed as the villians in later games, but who cares, he was still badass! And I never once had to feel guilty about killing him at the end.
 
Compared to villains like Sephiroth, Exdeath doesn't really has as much depth as anyone else and the tree twist didn't help matters. I like Exdeath even if there really isn't much to him.
 
Badass for sure and very villainy. I do prefer him to Sephiroth since he did accomplish more within the game and also he did have an attitude. So yes, I like ExDeath as a villain. He wasn't as crazy as Kefka, but he knew how to destroy things with style.
 
Thats our Exdeath, he doesn't need to be a bishie or some ax crazy clown but still can be awesome nonetheless.
 
I thought Ex-Death was awesome. He was a villain with no face and was just evil for the hell of it. Reminds me of Garland :awesome:
 
I dont know why everyone says x death is so hard.. He was easy.. You just make them all 4 summoners with 1 that knows white magic, 1 that knows blue magic, 1 that knows time magic and 1 that knows black magic.. Have the white mage ready to heal, have the black mage use flare on the first part, have the time mage use haste, have that blue mage use that mighty guard spell. Then once he evolves spam bahamut with all four chara on all of his parts.. He dropped in no time..

I like Exdeath because his methods of destroying are unique and rather different than the more popular FF villians. I like how he used the 'Void' as his main plan rather than to just destroy everything in his path. He wasn't too hard to fight in battle. Plus, my mind got blown when I first started playing the game (around 14 years old) and realized that I would be battling it out with a tree. Not some raggedy or sexy hume character - but an evil spirit possessed tree. How epic is that?

He's not my favorite villian, but he is still kind of awesome. They could have done a better job on the name and his depth, but not everything is perfect. I always thought he was sort of mysterious, which makes me think of him as awesome. And the fact that he's a tree...well he's probably the most unique FF villian...
 
He was cool,destroyed everything without any reason and had atitude,without menting the ''Mwhahahaahaha'' laughs. I love stupid cliché villains that do that =D

This is the exact reason i think he sucked as a boss, i mean seriously. he didn'e even do much untill just before you warp to Galufs world.

Sephiroth on the otherhand, Kills from day 1, practically, Now THERE'S a villian to be proud of.
 
Exdeath is an amazing and terrifying villain. My favorite villain of any FF (aside from Yunalesca, whom I don't consider a villain proper). He is also incredibly powerful and very much can't be killed, only sealed. He probably accomplished more and was able to carry out his plans farther than any other FF villain. Character wise, he is quite unique...an evil possessed tree which by becoming self-aware turned into a pure personification of evil. Very original villain and while some may see he is one dimensional character as a bad thing, I think that it fits perfectly with what he is.

I liked how he manipulated people into shattering the crystals to ensure his return. He is also quite badass, the walls of his castle, which has 13 floors, is made up of the flesh of those who have dared to oppose him. That's just epic.

He was also a very hard boss and his main theme, as well as his battle music, are very much the best boss tunes imo.
 
My favorite villain would have to be Kuja(FF9). Second would be Gilgamesh(FF5), then Exdeath :].
 
Lame villain to be honest. Quite generic and boring character, easy to beat. Kefka is the all time best villain.
 
he is ok.... only seen him from dissidia and he does say some weaid stuff :$ like turtles haha most epic line ever :P
 
Exdeath is the Final Fantasy villain I fear the most. His music, his castle. All of it is creepy and just tons of nightmare fuel. His castle is made of flesh from people who tried to fight him and failed. Which is a bit creepy and disturbing. :stressedpanda:
Also when
Gilgamesh, fighting him in Exdeath's castle, just disappointing him and he'll send you to a relm of your worst nightmares. A place where you'll be alone forever.
Exdeath, is just....scary. However in Dissidia he's the total opposite and isn't fearful at all. Actually thought that in Dissidia he's kinda, weird. Strange even. :mokken:
 
Hm... People say he's super lame from name to appearance... And they're right.
But also it is the charm of the FF5's simple story. The typical crystal save and good v.s. evil in it's pure form [ Exdeath even wasn't a MAN but more like a Demon/Fiend/Warlock ].
Sure, there's no Kefka, or Sephiroth there but there never had to be one. He's more like a Anime ultimate Badass, you try to take him down -> you're helping him, you try to catch him in a trap -> he burns the whole forest and nearly kills you, you go to Ghido for a tactic how to defeat him -> he sinks the entire island and nearly kills you again, you have Ghido, Bartz, Krile, faris on your side -> he easily dispatches you, you go to Galuf's world to help him -> he catches you not even two minutes after.

People say that Kefka destroyed the world. Well he quite burned it, and SOMETIMES had cast the lighting of jugdement [ Oh, why they didn't do more of this in FF6, the plot would be way better ], but somehow all the towns were standing, everyone lived, your paty lived [ expect Bannon ], while Exdeath wipped every city with his void and with style [ only temporarily, yes :> ].

However I don't recall someone so overpowered and "watching you through the game" then Exdeath.

Ghido: What do you think, that I sat all these years munching on a pizza?
Ex-death: Well, you should have, you won't find such tasty diversions in the afterlife

EDIT: Where does it specifcally say that his castle is made from the flesh of the enemies?

Also...
I heard somewhere that in the game you get to know his real name - meaning Ex-Death is only a... Nickname? Does somebody know something about it?

Exdeath is portrayed in dissidia as this mostly silent badass but in the game he is pompous and power hungry, still badass though my favorite FF villain
 
I played the anthology version so exdeaths dialogue was pretty weak but in all honesty hes a pretty imtinating villain
