Dungeon Crawlers

Shen heard Kentaro's voice, but didn't bother to turn around to confirm that it was really him. She was busy tending to Manus, mostly seeing if he's still alive or not. At least he was, which was a relief.

"Amatuers?" Shen repeated, loud enough for him to hear. "As I recall, aren't you a rookie as well?" Whether this was true or not, she smirked; that statement was more to annoy him than anything.

Her eyes moved over to the statue, which now served as the still form it was meant to be. The gaping hole in the wall allowed another outlet for the mist to escape through. Her sword's light only reached to the mouth of the opening, but she didn't really care. Shenorai stood up, referring to her teammates.

"Could someone carry Manus? And Arth...you'd probably get into less trouble if you stayed with the group instead of strayed away. If you're gonna be working with us, you need to stay alive and stop looking for trouble." Her tone was stern, yet not scolding. She let the thought that he is indeed risking his life on these missions sink in as she walked over to the armlet.

Shen took a moment to admire the work that was put into both the altar and the dragon statue in front of her. It must've taken at least a year to make the hand alone, for marble is a helluva thing to carve into. She couldn't even tell what the dragon was made out of, save for the horns. The pattern on the horns looked like a sort of mosaic, but she couldn't tell what was used for those tiles. The rest of the dragon had scales carved into it, though it was difficult to see thanks to the ivy and vines.

Admiration put aside, she looked at the armlet carefully. Though it may have looked silly, Shen waved her sword around it slowly and carefully before even bothering to touch it. Gotta check for wire traps, of course. Then, pulling her left hand into her sleeve, Shen grasped the bottom of the armlet and slid it off of the hand slowly, pausing as she pulled it free. Well, no traps apparently.

Shen turned to the rest of the group. "Anyone want that amulet as well? Or should we just go?"

Since Shenorai had her back to the altar, she didn't see the dragon blink and slowly come to life. Its claws began to flex slowly, as though testing to see if it could move them at all. Though it was toothless, its beak-like mouth looked dangerous enough, especially since it was made of stone.

Julius, who remained silent during the battle, sheathed his sword and decided to approach the statue. With the wound on his left shoulder still opened, Julius was losing a significant amount of blood over time. After getting close enough to the statue, Julius extended his right arm and touched the statue's right sword which was quite similar to a gun sword weapon.

Coughing and breathing heavily, Julius knew that the wounds would eventually weaken him to the point of fainting but he didn't care at all. By using a significant amount of strength, Julius pulled out the gunblade and left the room following the others. Knowing that the others would worry if they saw the severity of the wound, Julius torn out part of his cape and then covered his left shoulder.

Julius suddenly noticed another man's presence, it seems that Kentaro has finally arrived.

Julius: "Ken....ta....ro....."

Julius whispered to himself while waiting for Shenorai to finish what she came to do here.

Shenorai caught sight of Julius and his wound. Since his seemed pretty serious, Shen hurried over to him and peeled off her pack along the way.

"Don't you carry around bandages or Potions?" Shen asked him, producing her own roll of gauze out of her bag. Since she couldn't really find a good way to take off just the shoulder piece of the armor, she folded up a strip of gauze and stuffed it in the hole to help block the bloodflow.

"Sorry if it hurts," Shen mumbled for Julius to hear.

Kentaro leaned his back against the nearby wall, folding his arms with a sly grin across his face.He had to admit,it was a smart reply.

He examined the figure who left the alter room with agonizing look on his face.He watched carefully as the pathetic excuse for a man tried to fix his wound.

How pathetic, he is badly hurt already,he truly deserves the title of amateur.

He watched Shenorai help the 'amateur'.

Kentaro:"How humorous,I hope he doesn't call himself a 'experienced warrior',he's more like a amateur to me"

Kentaro whispered to himself though he made sure that the 'amateur' heard him.He made yet another sly grin as he watched the scene.

Tired after the battle, Arthvader went to the woods to hone his fighting skills.

Arthvader : "I need to train more because Gilgamesh will be waiting for me again really soon."

As Arthvader practice his skills, several bandits came from out of nowhere and began to strike him.

Arthvader : "Why does this always happen to me?"

Arthvader quickly dodges all of the bandit's attacks, and then their leader showed up.

Bandit Leader : "Now, I'm only going to tell you this one time. Hand over all of your belongings, or i'll have to kill you."

Arthvader : "You think I'm just going to hand over my stuff, forget it."

With those words, Arthvader called out his summoned creature.

Arthvader : "Come on out, Holy Pheonix. Show them no mercy, Blizzaga."

The pheonix sends out a heavy blizzard at all of the bandits, instantly freezing them.

Bandit leader : "What did you do to them?"

Arthvader : "I just had my friend here freeze your guys. Now, if you wish to value you life, I suggest you don't try this again."

The bandit leader, shocked at happened to his crew, ran away before anything else happens.

Arthvader : "Gee, I didn't even break a sweat. I better get back to the group. Come my friend"

Arthvader decied to bring his summoned friend with him to the group.

Julius: "I'm fine...Shen....though it was not necessary..."

Julius was feeling better after Shen tried to cover the wound, but he was highly disturbed by Kentaro's comments. Julius then closed his fist and punched the wall while trying to control his anger. His eyes glowing red with hatred and anger, Julius was beginning to lose control.

Julius: "You......don't know anything....."

Julius then grabbed his sword and challanged Kentaro to a fight. The blood that was flowing from his left shoulder now turned black with anger and a malicious desire for revenge.

Julius: "Amateur...Amateur you say?! You have no honor therefore you are no warrior....Shen, it seems that your friend here doesn't live by the code of the warrior. If I where you I would tell him to tell his comments to someone who cares. But since he doesn't know how to show respect to people, I might as well teach him......the hard way...."

Julius then began to cast Curaga upon himself, healing his wound almost instantly. The spell however, used most of his magical energy therefore not allowing him to cast another one in quite some time.

Julius then drew the gunblade that he took from Gilgamesh and aimed it at Kentaro.

Julius: "Do not delude yourself with your own lies....pathetic warrior!!"

Julius then stood at the far side of the room waiting for Kentaro to make his first move.

Julius: "Come, if you dare..."

darkswordprince uses stealth and hides within the swadows. he sees julius and kentero fighting.

darkswordprince: (kentero should keep comments like that to himself.) julius if you need help just ask.

darkswordprince voice echos though out the room there's no telling where darkswordprince.

As Arthvader and his pheonix, finds the group, he sees that Julius and Kentaro are fighting.

Arthvader : "Oh god, what happened while I was gone? Rabarta."

and with that, the he freezes them with a very powerful freeze spell.

Arthvader : "You guys should really calm down. and as for you Kentaro, Don't call us amateurs. I basically risk my life saving Julius here as well as DSP from Gilgamesh's stealth attack. I almost even died when Gilgamesh tried to finish off Julius and i got in the way. Now, Rafoie."

When Arthvader casted Rafoie (a Powerful Fire spell), Julius and Kentaro were defrosted.

((Doesn't make a lot of sense, Arth...finding the two in a fight; that I can see. But hearing what he was saying all the way from who knows where? That I'm a little iffy about.))

Shen gave a disgusted sigh. "He's not a friend," she insisted. "He's not worth your time, Julius." Her violet eyes hardened and scowled at Kentaro out of annoyance.

"Name-calling...how mature." She spat sarcastically. "If you keep that up around the wrong people, you'll have that tongue of yours cut off and fed to a wolf. I hear that's not a pleasant experience."

Shen stuffed the armlet and the rest of the gauze into her pack and slipped it back on. She walked over to Manus and knelt beside him. Apparently, he still hasn't regained consciousness.

"Oy, Rookie," she addressed to Kentaro, "if you're gonna be here, make yourself useful and carry Manus over here. Think he used too much magic at once."

Arthvader goes towards a fatigued Manus. By simply looking at Manus, Arthvader gave the orders to his pheonix.

Arthvader : "Pheonix, heal this guy with your power."

Arthvader's summon, the Holy Pheonix, has the unique ability to restore anyone back to normal.

Arthvader : "You should be feeling better now, Manus. Can you get up?"

Kentaro:"Thanks for showing me that your an amatuer. One must not let their anger control them,One most definetly must not challenge someone when their magic is low,One must choose a mission over a vendetta.Like I said your are a amateur"

Kentaro said with a sly smile across his face while looking directly into Juluis'es eyes.He turned towards the mage and Shenorai and began walking towards his objective before Arthvader healed the mage with his summon Phoenix.

Kentaro could not hold back his delight pointing towards the mage.
Kentaro"Ah to bad, maybe next time Shen?".

He looked over at the dragon that was shooting flames out of its mouth. He quickly began leaving room, running towards the exit of the cave.

This is their fight,not mine.

Kentaro:"If any of you Amateurs! Really want to fight, I will be waiting out side! I will even let 2 of yous fight me ,no I mean 3 and Shenorai this offer doesn't include you!".

Shenorai heaved a sigh. "He learns a new word and decides to use it in every few sentences..."

She looks over at the source of the flames. Pieces of stone had fallen onto the floor where the statue was. In place of the statue on the wall was a gaping hole with charred ivy clinging to it. Apparently, the dragon had been encased in stone until the armlet was removed. The entire beast was long and sleek, but only a mere sixteen or seventeen feet high. Its narrow head adorned spiraling horns, much like that of a ram. Though folded, its leathery wings must have been a good thirty or forty feet wide. A single pair of muscular arms supported it, one still grasping the amulet. It had no hind legs and it was rather difficult to tell where its body ended and its long, serrated tail began. The entire dragon was covered by dark blue scales. It was fairly small compared to most, but it was a dragon nonetheless, making it dangerous.

"...guess it was guarded."

Arthvader, still shocked that Kentaro called him and most of the group amateurs, He charges towards him.

Arthvader : "I have no idea what's your problem, Kentaro, but I might as well teach you a lesson in battle, that is, after we get rid of THAT!!"

He then turned his attention to the dragon, focus as he may seem, preparing to battle.

Arthvader : "Let's do it then, Pheonix. Start it up with Blizzaga. and now, RABARTA!!"

As the spells made contact with the dragon, The dragon just blew away the spells back at Arthvader.

Arthvader : "Woah, what's going on. Is the dragon immune to..."

Before he could finish saying his sentence, He ended up frozed solid.

Julius who was highly irritated by a new found nemesis, sheathed his sword and decided to leave. Both his honor and dignity where tarnished by someone who tought of himself as a master of everything, though lacked the respect towards another warrior.

Julius turned around to speak with Shen, still trying to control his anger which was arousing his inner demon, Kentaro made a mistake by constantly trying to crush Julius' confidence.

Julius: "I am sorry Lady Eterna, it seems that my skills are of no use to you. I leave with shame and swear that I'll return once I learn how to control my anger. If you wish to find me, you can come to Castle Silverwing. Bring your friends too, you will all be my guests of honor."

Julius removes the bandages that were covering his wound and proceeds to leave the room.

(this features a flash back)

In a small dirt road that ran through a field of crops with a sunset in the background, two men stood facing each other ,ready to fight, only one
would survive.

One of the men was a young warrior who could only have been 18 years old, wearing samurai dragon armor, pointing the blade of his katana at his opponent.

The other man was about in his early 30's, wearing noble robes ,pointing his longsword at his young opponent.

The noble man who had sad expression on his face asked :"Why have you betrayed me?"

A sly grin appeared on the young man's face before answering: "Money"

The noble man became angry by the young mans reply, asking : "You are going to kill me for money, after my clan helped you?"

The young man found the answer to be quiet humorous replying "I thank you for your help but I am not just going to kill you, your wife and child will die as well, that I promise".

The noble man was ready to fight by shouting "For my family and my clan,I shall kill you Kentaro!"

Both men charged with fury towards each other. They both fought with all of their might until their was a victor.

Kentaro was sitting comfortably at the tree stump looking at the cave's entrance.

Hah I failed my promise, I never did kill the child,I wonder where that child is.....

Shen opened her mouth to protest, but was quickly drowned out by the dragon's low growl. What a time for him to leave...

With an annoyed sigh, Shen's shotgun was yanked out of its holster, holding the barrel level with the dragon. The first shot fired merely deflected the lead pellets off of the scales. Indeed, it had a tough hide. There wasn't a second shot, for it only responded to Shen's squeezed trigger with a click. Cursing her luck, she pulled out the empty shells and jammed in new ones, cocking the shotgun.

The dragon exhaled a ball of fire in Arthvader's direction. Surprisingly enough, it had a fairly short range. However, the stone upon the walls, floor, and ceiling was just fading from its orange glow right afterwards. Indeed, the dragon's breath was very hot.

darkswordprince watches as the events unfold in front of him then takes action by helping by throw a dagger at the dragons left eye. darkswordprince's sealth fades away as he throws the dagger.

darkswordprince: we sould take care of this dragon quick.

As Julius walked away from them he heard both the gunshots and the dragon's growl coming from the room he recently left. Even though he felt himself drawn to help his comrades, the lack of courage and his now broken confidence wouldn't let him. A battle now raging inside Julius' mind, he now questioned if in fact he was had the right to call himself a "knight"

Suddenly he fell on his knees and stared at the ground motionless, not caring for his safety nor life. Then he remembered the words from his beloved Dayanne not before she fell in coma "It doesn't matter if you feel sorrow consuming your heart. At such times remember why you are here and for what you are fighting for. And don't worry my dear if things look bad, you know that you can always count with me. I shall forever be with you, right here waiting for your arrival. Now go and show them..."

His confidence now restored, Julius took his sword and rushed back to help his comrades.

Julius: "LADY ETERNA!!!!"

With a loud battle roar, Julius stood between the dragon and Shenorai wielding his sword against the mighty beast.

Shenorai had her shotgun and her pack cast against the wall, close to Manus. Apparently, something jammed her gun and she did not bear any patience to deal with it now. She carried a glowing sword in each hand, ready to give it her all in this fight.

Before she got too near, Julius stepped in front of her, almost making Shen run into him. As she skidded to a halt, the dragon reared its head back, its throat glowing orange as fire began to crawl out of its throat.

"Julius, watch out!"

Shen tackled Julius to the ground just as the dragon heaved another huff of flame in their direction. Shen could smell a distinct charred scent as her hair and coat as they were scorched in the massive heat. If she had no clothes on her back, she imagined her skin would have been bubbling and blistered from the heat by now.

Frozen due to the ice spells that were reflected back by the dragon's wings, Arthvader remains frozen. Telepathy, He contacted pheonix.

Arthvader : "Please, pheonix, free me from this icy prison."

The pheonix came towards Arthvader to warm him up until he was no longer frozen. Back to normal, Arthvader decided to wield his swords, and aided Julius and Shen.

Arthvader : " I'm going to let you guys know this. If you try any elemental magic on this beast, he might reflect it back with it's wings. Believe me, that's how I got frozen in the first place."

After giving the warning, Arthvader went towards the dragon. As he charges towards the dragon, the dragon started shooting fire out of it's mouth.

Arthvader : "Oh crud."

Knowing the direction of the fire, he quickly dodges all of the dragon's fire breath. Now, Arthvader jumped towards the dragon, both swords in hand, preparing to strike.

Arthvader : "This is payback for freezing me!!"

He slashes one of the dragon's legs off like it was nothing. He quickly charges back to the group.
