Dungeon Crawlers

Julius began to block most of the attacks, but the lamias were too many. Hopefully their numbers diminished as time passed, but unexpectedly, a group of goblins arrived making the fight for Julius and his other companions more difficult. Suddenly, Julius arm was slightly scratched by one of the incoming arrows that were shot by one of the lamias. He then fell to on his knees dodging the swing of one of the swords of his enemies and after that Julius used his right leg to hit one of the goblins and push it back.

Julius teamed with both Arthvader and DSP, but still their enemies were too many. Hopefully Lady Eterna arrived, and Julius noticed her presence.

Julius: "It was about time I could find you Lady Eterna, though I never thougth I would have to meet you under these circumstances. Anyway there's a battle at hand, and we would be wise not to delay our enemies' demise."

Suddenly and unexpectedly, one of the goblins jumped high into the air and came down trying to crush Julius under the weight of his hammer. Julius on the other hand picked one of the small spears lying on the ground and hurled at the incoming goblin. The tip of the spear pierced through the goblin's armor and killed it. Then Julius prepared to cast a powerful black magic technique.

Julius: "This is it!! A cast upon thee a spell of Death!!!"

The spell instantly killed three of the incoming lamias that were getting ready to attack, but left Julius defenseless and open to any other attacks.

Julius: "Darn....I have no energy left, I need a few seconds to recover my strength.......Arthvader, Prince....a helping hand wouldn't be bad here..."
 
darkswordprince hears the call julius and reazlies that there are 2 goblins and 2 lamias going after julius. darkswordprince reaches in his bag and grabs two daggers and throws them at the goblins neck the daggers pierces through the back of there neck killing them, while running towards the lamias darkswordprince pulls his weapons (duel weilding short katana's, they are 4ft long each) and uses sprint to catch up with one of the lamias that was a little behind, and trust his sword in the back of lamia, the lamia screems in pain.

darkswordprince: what a rush, i find this fight fun

after hearing his ally screem the other lamia turns around and attacks darkswordprince with his spear. darkswordprince see's the lamia attacking him blocks the attack withhis other sword and pulls out the sword that was stuck in the other lamia and jump back to dodge the next attack from the lamia.

darkswordprince: wow... that was a close one. NOW IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO DIE.

rushs toward the lamia and slashes with left handed sword but lamia blocks it, then trust his right handed sword in the neck of the lamia killing the lamia. then run to julius.

darkswordprince: julius are you alright, do you need a potion
 
After fully recovering his strength, Julius stands firm and retakes his defensive stance. He heard Prince's question, but he couldn't answer right away. Suddenly one of the lamias got really close to Julius but fortunately, he was fast enough to notice the presence of his opponent. By using his right shoulder as a weapon, Julius pushed the lamia away and then he slashed through it. After this he dealt a flurry of continuous attacks following up with similar slashes from enemy to enemy. With this, not only Julius slew three of his opponents, but also gained the upper hand.

Julius: "DarkSwordPrince!! Arthvader!! We must use this opportunity! Slay their leader and brake through their defenses!!"

After this, Julius rushed towards the large group of enemies dodging and slicing through the enemy lines and striking down most of them. Unfortunately, no matter how many monsters they slew, the battle seemed endless and more enemies were arriving.

Julius: "Lady Eterna!!! Do you have a better idea? We might use a good one right now..ARGH!"

While he called Shen, Julius blocked the incoming attack of one of the lamias.
 
back at the battle, I said to everyone:

"Everyone stand back!!!"

I decided to have my phoenix cast it's ultimate spell: Ultima. I also went towards julius and said:

"You might need this later on."

I then pass him an elixer that I made during my journey. While the pheonix is preparing to cast the spell, i went ahead and start narrowing down the enemies until there are only monsters in the range of the spell.

after clearing a batch of them. the phoenix was ready. i stepped back and shouted:

"Now phoenix, ULTIMA!!!!!!!!!!!"

with the attack going on, just about every monster within the range was obliterated. worn out, the phoenix collapsed and left the place to charge it energy. As for me, after all that battling, i collapsed in front of the group in sheer happiness.
 
*Manus walked slowly across the blood stained field, not seeming to notice that anything was out of place. He walked over to Arthvader and got one one knee next to him, glancing over him to ensure that he was alive. He then took out a small vial and filled it with the blood of a freshly slaughtered Lamias that lay next to him."

: Perhaps this will be of some use to me later :

*Manus then returned to his feet. After a moment, he began to raise his arms from his sides, extending them to either side, stopping once they were just above his chest. He began to mumble, almost silently, in a voice that was quite unlike his own, almost as if he had been possessed by a very powerful being. The wind suddenly began to pick up, but was blowing from every direction toward the mage. It was not a strong wind, but it was enough to cause the entire field of grass to stretch itself towards Manus. After a few moments Manus stopped mumbling, and lowered his arms, leaving the wind and grass to rest once again.

He had been trying to sense any magical items that may have been on the slain Lamias.*

: Unfortunate; but to be expected I suppose. Not all beings understand the possibilities of the magical realm :
 
Shen would've given some ideas, but was blinded by a bright, green light. Her eyes shut tightly and her free hand shielded her face. The death cries of the monsters erupted all around them and subsided only when the light did. When she opened her eyes, she found the grass around them littered with monster carrions. Shen rubbed her eyes a bit to make the spots go away and turned to the newcomer.

"...you wanted to see me for something?"
 
Julius heard Lady Eterna's question, so he smirked after sheathing his sword and began to walk towards her. Then he bowed respectfully and smiled. His attention was caught by the large amount of lamias and goblins that lied slain on the ground.

Julius: "Ah Lady Eterna at long last. I am Julius Argexis Silverwing, Master of the Silverwing Family, I came at your presence with a humble request; I wish to join your group of warriors. Long I've seen the many problems that these monsters have caused and not seen anyone besides my family and a few others in order to stop it. Then the rumours of another powerful clan who was fighting against these foul fiends reached my ears."

He took a rest of his long talk after walking towards one of the trees and leaning his back against it. He then sighed and closed his eyes for a second and after smiling he opened them once again to resume his conversation.

Julius: "So Lady Eterna? Am I allowed to join? Is there any test I must take first before becoming a member? If so please inform me of the necessary details and I shall accomplish the task within a few days"

After these things being said, Julius walked towards the small river that was next to the ruins and stared at the horizon.
 
"Lady?" Shen repeated, rather taken aback by this formality. After a chuckle, she started again with a modest, "Shen will do just fine."

Shen strode slowly near the ruins, but kept within the earshot of the new fighter. Her sword was still in hand, yet she holstered her shotgun for the time being. The glow of the sword gave her an extra shadow as she paced.

He certainly has potential, noted a voice in her mind.
Shen smirked as she turned around. You saw him, too?
Of course I did.
Well, what do you think of him?
I'd say he's fully capable. Good with the blade as well as his magic.
He uses magic?
You didn't see that Death spell?
...guess not.
The voice sighed at Shen's lack of observation. ...go ahead and let him join. He'll be useful.

Shen nodded a little to her ghostly companion, though to the common eye, it looked more like she had made her decision. She stopped in mid-stride and placed her free hand on her hip, studying Julius briefly before she said anything.

"All right. Let's see what you can do."

She walked closer to Julius and stood a few feet away, giving him a short briefing.

"I hope you don't mind doing a bit of treasure hunting during these monster hunts. You see, we not only slay monsters, but we help a group of squires with their research by obtaining artifacts for them. At the moment, we're going in here to look for an amulet of sorts. We were given a scroll with a detailed sketch of it. I believe Arthvader over there had it last. You wouldn't mind joining us in the search, would you? After all, you're already here."
 
after the long battle darkswordprince puts his swords away and starts to go around the battefield, turning dead lamia bodies around to the front, but just the ones that are laying on thier front side. after seaching the whole battlefield darksworprince stop and thinks to himself.

(ummmm........ this is not good)

darkswordprince approaches the shen, manus, julius, and arthvader with a concerned look on his face.

darkswordprince: the 13 lamias that i didn't kill last night are not among the dead, that means they are still in the the cave with armlet. *pauses for moment* do any of you know about the 23 solders that disappeared around here, well thier bodys are 5 miles to the west in the woods with no armor, but they have thier weapons. those lamias were wearing the solders armor and thats i killed the 10, cause 23 lamias with solder armor would poss too much of a threat for all us, and i would have killed the rest but i heard some lamias coming and got out of there.
 
*Manus walked over to Julius with a smirk upon his face. Of course, under the darkness of the hood, the smirk, along with the rest of his face, was hidden. He had a feeling in him that he had not had in a long time*

"Sir Abrexis,"

:eek:r is it Silverwing...:

"I couldn't help but notice that impressive spell you cast. A death spell, was it? When we've the time, I would be humbled if you would show it... well, not literally show it, but" Manus faltered, "but... well. I'm sure you understand."

:This mission has already benefited me. Even if he won't; or perhaps can't, as it is with some magi I suppose; teach me of it, I have at least got to see magic cast from another again. It has been so long...:
 
Julius smirked after hearing Shen's proposition, a new job wouldn't be bad at all so he gladly accepted. After studying the corpses of the monsters that he slew, he noticed that most of them were marked with a strange symbol. The symbol looked similar to a scythe being entangled by a red snake with purple fangs.

Julius: "Treasure hunting you say? I wouldn't mind at all since I am already here Lady Eterna." Suddenly he noticed he starting with the formalities again so he apologized. "Ah forgive me Shen, I am not used to call you by your first name. Your great exploits and many accomplishments are known to me, and I find it quite difficult to speak to a warrior with such great skills without showing any respect at all."

After stopping for a brief moment as he approached Shenorai. Then he turned arround and using his right arm, he pointed at the entrance of a cave. Gently he smiled showing both confidence and a desire for adventure.

Julius: "There Shen, it seems that the monsters came from that cave."

Julius approache one of the slain lamias and lifted the monster's left arm and showed a strage mark to Shenorai.

Julius: "Look, this lamia belongs to a clan most likely to be led by a human or a barbarian. These monsters however, are used as pets so they might be more around here. I suggest we proceed with caution and expect anything coming from these devils."

After dropping the corpse's left arm, Julius headed towards the entrance of the cave and unsheathed his sword. Before entering however, he turned around to speak with Shenorai and remained staring at her eyes.

Julius: "So Shen, shall we proceed?"
 
Arthvader decided to proceed through the cave in order to disable traps for shen and the crew. As he proceeds on disarming the traps, several monsters came from behind him and he decided to draw out his swords and started battling the monsters.

The monsters Arthvader were fighting were 3 chimeras, and covering the back, a tyrannosaurs rex, waiting for a meal. As for the battle against the chimeras, he started to throw some of the weapons he picked up from the corpse of the lamias and goblins, such as knives and bombs, at each of the chimera's heads.

The chimera's didn't seem to be affected to the weapons He threw at them. The chimera's then started to corner him as if they are to blast him with a tri-element spell. know this, Arthvader decided to chant the following spell:

"O holy one, I cast a upon thyself a spell of WALL!"

As the spell prepares to emerge, the chimera's performed their spells. Just as it seems it would be over, the wall spell finally kicked in and reflected the spells back at them and killed the chimeras. Now, the only problem he has now is with the Tyrannosaurs Rex. Weary from the battle with the chimera's, he decided to cast cure on himself, but due to him casting wall on himself, the spell reflected away from him, and the T-Rex was healed even more.

Noticing the problem, He decided to send a flying message to shen and the group saying the following message:

"To those who are reading this message,
I'm currently went ahead to disarm any traps, and during this task, I've just got myself in a world of trouble with a very dangerous T-Rex trying to
eat me. so, when you finish reading this message, follow it, as i put a spell on this message that will lead you to me. Ok? fine, then HELP ME!!!"


He then tossed the message, knowing that the message will reach the group. in the meanwhile, he is hiding behind a rock that the T-Rex hasn't look at yet.
 
((*facepalm* ...get in trouble much, Arth? XD And I believe you have your description of Wall confused.))

Shen gave a modest smirk. "I'm not that good. I have my help."
That you do, chimed in the voice in her mind again.

Just as she was prepared to comment on Julius' finds, a flurry of glowing letters flew out of the mouth of the cave. They flowed and twisted and collided into each other much like a rushing river. Wondering what the hell this is about, the letters finally unscrambled and organized themselves to form the message they were given.

Shen just skimmed through it quickly and cursed under her breath. Apparently, her new colleagues had a knack for getting everyone in trouble. All she could really think of at the moment was whether or not this amulet and the reward for it was going to be worth all the trouble.

"Guess we don't have much of a choice," Shen noted to Julius, trying to hide her slight irritation in Arthvader's carelessness. She raised her voice for Manus and DSP to hear, for they were a little ways off. "We're heading in, men! Last one to save Arthvader's ass buys the next meal!"

And with an amused grin on her face, Shenorai delved into the darkness of the cave, using her sword as a lavender torch to light the way.
 
meanwhile, back at the battle, Arthvader was thinking of a plan to defeat or stall the T-Rex, which is searching for him.

'since i still have reflect on myself, if i were to cast a spell on myself, it would bounce off of me and hit the monster.

Knowing this, He charges towards the T-Rex. he then decided to chant a spell:

"O Holy one, I Cast upon thyself a spell of METEOR!!!!!!"

As expected of him, Arthvader knew the spell will reflect off of him and the spell obliterated the T-Rex. Not only that, it also left a major hole above us.

"Whew, that took alot out of me. Better drink this."

Remembering the potion Manus gave him at the inn, he drank the potion and the potion fully restored all of his health and magic. Knowing that the crew have read the message and on their way, he decided to leave another message for when they arrive. the message states:

"To anyone who is reading this message,
sorry if I worried you about the whole problem with the T-Rex trying to get me. I took care of the problem, as you can see the sky above you. I'll be going on ahead to disarm more traps. see you at the treasure."

he left the message, and then he left on in the cave to find the treasure, as well as disarming more traps on the way.

Julius sighed, he was not that sorprised about Arth's problematic situation after all, Arth was known to get in trouble quite easily. He nodded in reply to Shenorai's commands and then he ventured into the pitch black darkness.

Julius: "......oh well....I hope this is worth the effort....I wonder how many treasures I could find inside this cave.....One never knows until you try...."

The cave was vast and the little light they had was starting to diminish. Noticing this situation, Julius lit a torch and continued onward until he could find any trace Arth's whereabouts.

Suddenly he stumbled across some footsteps but Julius wasn't sure if these belonged to Arth but after hearing the a deep growl, his doubts were cleared. Suddenly he heard the growl onec again but this time the sound was rather weak and then it faded away.

Julius: "It seems that Arth never needed the help at all....whatever, I shall await here until someone arrives...."
 
((Ehh...I think Arth already took care of it, but whatever...))

Shen stood back a little bit, making sure she didn't hit Julius or Arthvader with her attack. Her shotgun was out and aimed for the terrible lizard's head. The blast of the shot echoed throughout the cave and the dinosaur reared back a little. If anything, the shot just took a couple of scales off of its muzzle. Its hide was too thick for bullets to penetrate.

But it wasn't its hide she was trying to attack.

Shenorai held her shotgun a little higher and took a step back. The tyrannosaur's eyes seemed to follow her movement. With a low roar, it took a long stride forward, its gnashing teeth threatening to snatch her up. As the giant reptile's head lunged down at her, Shen pulled her trigger again. This time, the attack hit home and the ugly head reared back, screeching in pain and bleeding profusely from its eye. It tried to rake the bullets out of its eye with its tiny arms, but it couldn't even reach.

Shen took the time pull out the empty shells and jam new ones into the barrels.
 
darkswordprince catches up with arthvader while in steath and scans the area. after awhile darkswordprince hears the sound of clashing weapons and notice's that julius is gone.

darkswordprince*umm.. julius must be in trouble*

on the way to meet up with Julius, Arthvader encountered someone else in this cave other than the group. I went towards him and said:

Arthvader: "I'm just wondering, who are you?"

The stranger turned towards me and said:

Stranger : "I'm the famous Gilgamesh. have you heard of me?"

Arthvader : "I've heard of rumors about a master of weapons called Gilgamesh. Are you the master of weapons?"

Gilgamesh : "I Certaintly am. I'm here looking for a legendary sword to add to my collection."

Arthvader : "I'm with a group looking for the many treasures that can be found in this cave. Anyways, it was nice metting you."

As Arthvader leave Gilgamesh's company, Gilgamesh followed Arthvader and suddenly took out a sword and slash Arthvader in the back. Arthvader notice the attack and dodged it at the last second.

Arthvader : "What was that about!?"

Gilgamesh: "You look like a worthy opponent, how about a duel?"

Shocked at what Gilgamesh said to him. Arthvader drew out his swords and said:

Arthvader : " It's on Gilgamesh, I've been looking for a challenge for a long time now."

I'm a little lost... did you guys just kill that same T-Rex twice? Well, if you did, I congratulate you on accomplishing the impossible.:P

Either way, on we go.

*Manus stayed a few paces behind the group, knowing that a spell of such magnitude would be better seen from a distance. After all traces of the spell had dissipated (with the exception of the big hole in the ceiling) Manus took his place next to the others.*

:My, my. More trouble from our colleagues jumping ahead of the group, eh? I can say that if it weren't for the magic I've seen cast in the past few hours, this trip would have been more trouble than it's worth.

It does me good to see magic cast by another for a change. Perhaps I've spent too long inside my study.:

*Manus paused temporarily, then took a few steps ahead of the group and turned back to face the group. He pulled his hood back and spoke to the group."

"I hope that we have learned something from all of this. Not only have we caused ourselves more trouble than was necessary by rushing into this, but some of us have put the rest of us in danger. This is unacceptable.

If we hope to retrieve this armlet, and return alive, we must at least try and stick together, and we mustn't draw any extra attention to ourselves. The element of surprise must be our greatest ally.

Now then. We've already lost that ally for this mission, but we should still tread carefully. If there is this kind of security around the entrance, I can only imagine what must be waiting for us near the armlet.

Shenorai, perhaps you could lead us? After all, it was you who called us all here if memory serves. Unless, of course... someone opposes this."

*Manus looked quizzically at the others, obviously awaiting a response.*

A few hours passed and Julius felt as if he were left alone once again. He sighed after realizing that he got lost somehow but he knew that blaming himself for this was not the right thing to do at such desperate times. After making up his mind, Julius took his torch and moved onward searching for the rest of the group.

Julius: "Is anyone here?!"

Suddenly and unexpectedly, a swift arrow pierced quickly his left shoulder, it seems that someone attacked Julius from the rear. Screaming in agony, Julius dropped the torch and fell on his knees. He then unsheathed his sword and looked at all sides to see from where the arrow could possibly come from.

With his wound still open and the blood flowing from it, Julius knew that he wouldn't survive for long if he were to be ambushed. Suddenly, a monster growled and appeared from within the darkest part of the cave swinging his axe fiercely. Julius had no other choice than to block and dodge the attacks while his wound ached more and more with each movement.The battle was fierce and the sounds of both weapons clashing against each other could be heard afar. The sounds of metal crushing after each attack and the blood being spilled were part of this gruesome battle.

Monster: "I am a Demon Lord, and your soul shall be mine!!! Julius is time for you to die!!!"

Julius: "My life is not for you to be taken!!!"


With this Julius did an inhuman effort to block the axe and push it backwards. The monster was set offguard due to this attack, and Julius noticed the opening right away. Without losing a single second. Julius slashed through the monster, tearing its chest apart and slicing everything in his path.

After this, the monster fell on his knees and then collapsed on the floor, dead. Julius on the other hand fell on his knees due to the large amount of blood he lost.

Julius: "Begone phantom..and never appear again.....argh...I can't die here...."
