What do you call the Princess MOST, when refering to her?

lol When I saw you posting in here, I remembered you saying that. But yea, if you were a princess in a fantasy world, Sarah is kind of a "meh" name. If you're a regular person, Sarah is a fine name.
 
Ive always refered to her as garnet, so have my friends - Dagger is a stupid name for a person >_< and i think they call her that just to give you an excuse to actually change her name XD
 
Meh, you remembered. Yeah, I got a tad bit offended when Saix said it was bland. Just a tiny bit. And you're right...might seem bland in a FF world. >.<
 
lol You don't live in an FF world though. And duh I remembered. You know I remember everything :P But uh... yea... um.. what was I saying? Oh right, yea, Sarah... good name.
 
That's actually an incredibly good point. I think they tried to make her realise "herself" as someone other than the princess, as seen by her arising rebelous nature and real roots in Madain Sari, and then bring her back to her regal position. Like she tried to run away from her problems but comes back to her regal position and take up that position... but that's not the vibe they gave out. It just came across as her adopting a new name, not doing anything with it, then growing into a position she was never in before.

Only bland because of the build-up of finding it out. And like Aztec said, only bland for a fantasy world. It's just not what you'd expect... you know?
More notable in comparison to 'Eiko,' of whom is of the same tribe... one would think they could safely assume they'd have names a little more creative. Nice enough name, just not fitting.
 
I've always thought of her as Garnet. She was called Garnet in most of the press coverage before release, she was introduced as Garnet when you met her in the game....and you could change her alias from being Dagger but you couldn't change the fact she was Garnet!

Nah, not her real name though. It was a name chosen, which you have the option to change. I'd always change it to "Garnet" anyway. Her real name's...well, I believe it was already mentioned here earlier.
 
Come to think of it, it's what they should've done with Tidus. They could have just made his name Tidus so they could say it in the FMVs... but then just allow you to pick a nickname for him. That would be the "excuse" to change his name.
 
y'know Aztec i agree with you - im replaying FFX at the moment and its so annoying that Noone ever says his name -_-

but then people would have complained of it being too similar to Garnet - you just cant please them :lol:
 
It's really odd, at first I thought when I saw the question 'obviously Garnet', and then when I thought about it, I realised I actually seem to keep thinking of her as Dagger, which is odd I guess. Maybe it's just because of how much of the game the princess is referred to as Dagger that influences my thinking.
 
I could never seriously think of her as Dagger, even when her game profile said as much. To me, Garnet changing her name to Dagger was the equivalent of Aeris telling everyone to call her 'Crug.' It just doesn't work.

On a different character, the name might even sound remotely cool, but it's hard to take Garnet seriously in her orange jumpsuit and ruffled sleeves.
 
She's always been Dagger to me, but I think that's mainly because I don't like Garnet as a name... Still, Dagger isn't a good one either :huh:

I name her Dagger when you first have the opportunity to rename her, then when I get the Hilda Garde 3 I go to Daguerreo and change her name back to Garnet.

Later on, after the revelations of a certain sidequest, I change her name yet again.
