The DSLite was completely useless. It was just a nicer looking version of the first DS. So they only really made a superficial version and got people to spend a gross amount of money on an object that was completely pointless.

The DSi at least has a camera/music/downloads. Not to mention it has games that are exclusive now that no other GB can play supposedly.

Long story short, if you're going to buy a new gameboy at least buy this one. So many people bought the lite for no reason at all, really big waste of money.

Well, some people bought the DS Lite because it was the best system available at the time. I know I could've saved some small amount of money by buying a regular DS, but I liked how the Lite looked in comparison. -_-

Having a DS Lite, I can't particularly justify buying a slightly upgraded version. I'd sooner get a PSP, I think, since that would allow to expand to more games that I normally wouldn't have a change to play. =\

Justin darling, I meant the kids who had the regular DA then they threw it in their closet and bought an entirely new DS Lite for no reason at all other than the prettier appearance. XD

The difference between the DS Lite and the original isn't just cosmetic. It had much higher quality screens and a better battery lifetime. For those who used their classic DS a lot, I'd say that it would be a worthwhile investment. For those who hardly used their classic DS, not so much.

ok dsi has some additional features like music player too bad its not mp3 format and the camera is just a waste being on both sides the wifi is just as bad as the ds lite no offence though ds lite is the best

I think I'd rather buy a DS Lite than a DSI. So it has a camera, big whoop. I'll use my phone or, you know, a real camera if I want a camera.

I don't get why they think they need to mix gaming up with all other sorts of media, really. It's much better if they just leave it at gaming tbh. >_>

The point I'm making is that the DSi has many more upgrades than the DSLite has had. So it's a better investment than the DSLite if you're coming from the Regular DS perspective.

The DSi has a larger screen but that isn't worthwhile if you're a hardcore DS gamer? But to buy a Lite just for the brighterscreen/batteries... It just seems like some opinions make no sense to me. ><

I also just don't understand why people are like ...omg extra features = pointless! Who cares if you're not going to use the extra features? At least they're available to you anyway. Yanno?

I'd buy a DSI if I had an original DS, the ones that look really chunky compared to DSLites, however, I don't honestly think it's worth wasting money getting a DSI since I have a DSLite. All I'd use my DS for anyway is to play games, I can't really see how the DSI will make gaming on the DS any better for me, regardless of updates. So yeah...it's probably worth the update if you have a normal DS, however, I just think an update from DSLite to DSI is pointless and a waste of money. Period.

Well...yeah, that's dumb. :wacky:

Admittedly, before the new colored DS Lites showed up in the US, I contemplated ordering a black Lite from overseas because I thought they looked awesome. Thankfully I had some sense, and did not do this. =P

I know what you mean. I really wanted the pink DSLite but I didn't buy it because I assumed that a new gameboy would come out soon enough. Also it was...what? 130 USD? Or something?

Even if it had better quality light/better batteries or whatever..and a nicer appearance. It's still the same thing as the old DS, no new features. It's like getting a gameboy pocket instead of keeping your old gameboy. EXCEPT I could actually understand that more since the original gameboy was HUUUUUGE and the screen was green.

My point is wait for the GBColor, at least it plays different games. :wacky:

Well speaking from the perspective of someone who doesn't own ANY version of the DS...I would buy the DSi. It's inevitable that they'll fade out the DSLite after a while and start putting more focus on the DSi, so better to have it than an outdated version.

DSLite = Gameboy Pocket/GBA SP

Exact same functionality, just smaller and better looking.

Don't care about the music or the camera, but the DSi Ware...now that's entirely different. As far as I know people with a DSLite aren't going to have any access to that, and it'll be nice to be able to dl games, I would think.

And I don't know if anyone has whined about it yet or not, but as far as no backwards compatibility goes...well, yes, it does suck. But an R4 has already been made that's compatible with the DSi, so um...just buy one of those and emulate all your GBA games on it if it's that big of a deal.

I personally like the DS Lite better. I do not need a camera, I have an MP3 player, and I have no way of connecting the internet on the DSI. I could also mess with pictures on my computer. So why would I need the DSI?

Agreed. The DSi doesn't do anything that most cell phones don't already do better. Much better. The DSi shop seems interesting enough, but I doubt that it will ever live up to the GBA back catalogue which the DS and the DS Lite are compatible with.

DS Lite for me.

I just have a regular ol' DS and it works fine for me, so I don't even see the need to get a DS Lite.

The DSi isn't going to appeal just because it has a camera. It has a camera, but it loses the GBA slot, and I love my GBA games, especially since I can enjoy them on the coloured screen of my DS.

Playing older games > taking pictures, in my opinion -_-

It depends on how you look at it, say I didn't have a DS then I'm going to say DSi purely because it's the newest and more up-to-date, however, considering I already have a DSLite which works perfectly fine I'm going to say DSLite because I have no need for a DSi whatsoever, and unless my DS breaks I have no intention of getting one. Plus I already have an IPod and Digitial Camera. :awesome:

IMO the DSi is quite pointless. The extra's that are supposed to be it's selling point over the other models arn't very appealing when you've got other and better means of doing them elsewhere. Plus, for them, they had to take away the GBA Slot which to me was a big part of the DS (especially seeing as I still enjoy playing Pokemon). The screen light on my GBA's are pretty tattered now making playing games pretty hard or just down right annoying. The DS's brighter screen makes this all better.

So yeah DS Lite. I never had an original DS and think I only ever held one once, but I'll assume that I'd like the Lite over the original anyway as I like the lightweight-ness of the Lite which obviously doesn't come with the original.

I refuse to pay an extra £50 for a DSi jus tfor a sodding camera, always though the regular DS's were abit on the bulky side and my lite is just win, and it's pink, only problem is the mic is still brioke, i think its playing brai n training whilst drinking wine that's fucked it up -_-

I want a DS Lite, but only because my normal DS is American and isn't compatible with my wireless router.

I don't need or want a DSI, the new features just aren't a selling point for me at all really, I don't want to pay extra for features I'd never use.

So, my regular bricky DS is fine by me.

Although I really want a DS Lite :wacky:
