Dragonball Evolution

The Trilogy rumor has been flying around for months. I don't really see that going over well. I don't think the first movie will make it let alone more. Besides, if they go that far in they might try to attempt making Goku Transform...and if his hair right now is any indicator...I doubt they'd be able to pull off the super sayain hair.

The Super-Saiyan look in general is going to be incredibly difficult to pull off on screen, as with alot of the energy effects used even before this.
But yeah if they can't get Goku's normal hair right, there is little chance that they will get Goku's SS hair anywhere near right.

I still can't get over the fact that they've not got Krillin... I mean even with the fact that he's one of my favourite characters aside, Krillin is a pretty important character. I mean isn't he? I've always seen him as like the closest thing Goku has to a best freind. I don't know how he was in the original Dragonball manga / anime, as I started watching at the first series of Z, but I'm sure he had a major part in that from what I've read about it.
I think... I'm just gonna stop reading about this movie, as it's just irritating, and wait for it to come out.
 
Dragonball characters in live action would look... weird. There's no way they can pull off the hair and make it look realistic. I heard that they cancelled the movie but that might just be a rumour.
 
3D animation is all the rage at the moment, so you'd have thought that they would have gone down that route. Live action is simply far too limiting for the nature of this series, and the characters look completely off ... really, they need to can this before it becomes even more of a disaster.

I hadn't heard that...I'd assume its a rumor since they just released a new poster a not to long ago and went into talks a out characters and cast.
 
I'll give it 6/7 months before they put it into one of those piss take films like 'Superhero movie' and stuff like that. Serioulsy, I don't know how anyone could expect this to be good (no offence) but the characters look nothing like what they do in the anime and how exactly are they going to pull off a realistic looking kamehameha? :wacky:

It's based on Dragonball, not Dragonball Z. There're no Super Saiyans. I'm not sure if the word 'Saiyan' even existed in Dragonball.

If anyone wants to relate Goku's actor to the part he's playing, the most famous production he's been in would probably be War of the Worlds - he played Robbie, the son of Ray [Tom Cruise].

I know it is based on Dragonball, not Dragonball Z, I was replying to a previous post where people were discussing if he went SS in a sequal based on DBZ.

Perhaps I should have quoted the other user before posting. I didnt expect it to knock my post onto the other page to make it look like I was making a new point!
 
If they are basing this off of Dragonball, then why is Goku's actor so old in this? o_O Unless I'm very much mistaken Goku was a child in Dragonball yet he looks to be early teens in this.
 
It seems as though they are simply skipping his childhood, or perhaps making him accomplish the feats done in his childhood when he's a teenager instead.

But that actor realy does not suit Goku at all..
 
Yeah, for starters he hasn't even come close to a teen-goku physique, and although it would look stupid on him he doesn't have the hair either, it looks like it was singed or something. :neomon:

And I'm wondering how they would handle the energy attacks like Kamehameha as well as flight/rush attacks, standard ki attacks, structural damage etc.
 
Goku grew older and into a teen in Dragon Ball. The start of DBZ was his fight with his brother.
But towards the end of Dragon Ball he was a teen and fighting with Piccolo...still doesn't account for him going to High School though....>.>

Yeah, Goku isn't meant to have any smarts really, unless they make him more or less a class clown I don't know what excuse they have for him being in High School...

Why not enjoy the older live action film (i'm sure it was chinese), I feel that this film will not do very good in theaters because I feel it gives of a "B" film feeling. Also because there's gonna be tons of CG probably, which throws away most picky critics.

Hopefully this isn't as bad as Hancock
 
I really don't know if I'll be able to watch this, I love DB/DBZ (GT can fuck off)

I mean, Goku at high school just changes his whole life completely :lol: and as it's obvious, Goku is in his teens here, which probably means they'll be following the World Tournament fight from DB between Goku and Picolo, unless they are going to completely change that aswell. Krillin, he should be there. If there is a trilogy and it follows into DBZ and Goku does transform, then it'll wreck the story again, as Krillin being killed by Freiza is what enraged and unlocked Goku's SSJ ability.

I really don't know if I'll be able to stomache it.

I did read it was cancelled a few months back, but if there's new info surficing, then it probably isn't.

On that note, I'm going to now watch Bojack Unbound, as SSJ2 Gohan just pwns all.

I honestly don't think I will be seeing this. It looks pretty stupid, and the actors are not well chosen.
 
*well guys lets watch the movie anyway so we can critisize and judge how bad or good it is :D so maybe...just maybe it might entertain us a little bit.

*in my opinion they just wanna use the popularity and magnitude of the anime's famousness :D they just wanna make a quick buck out of the anime and not dig deep on the roots of its true essence :D hope they dont murder and destroy the name of dragon ball so much :XD

*Gokou looks like a retard with spiky hair! from the looks of it now i think i wont be liking this movie :D oh well let the carnage begin :D
