I was wondering if coloured usertitles are a possibility at all? I know it's nothing of the utmost importance, but it's just another little thing to make your post bit look more awesome. :monster:

It's perfectly do-able. I think even Moderators are capable on FFF. All it takes is a little HTML knowledge, and the hex code for the colour. That is, if Mods have the ability to change usertitles through their CP?

It also takes the ability to save users. Which I don't think mods don't have. :monster:

I have no clue =/ Due to the fact that i dont have MCP access yet :P

But, i think it is doable, i've seen it before on another Vbulletin forum, but i don't know how the admins would go about it or anything

I'll go bring this up in staff :monster:

They must have. Remember when Aztec edited AG's avatar and sig? He must have had to save the changes. :monster:

I don't think he was yellow at that time, was he?

It's simple. Let's say for an orange one (since I have an orange hex code memorised xD), you'd type;

<font style=color: '#FF6600'>*Usertitle*</font>

Just stick that into the usertitle field through the CP, and it should come out as this colour orange. You could also add <B></B>, <I></I> and <U></U> for bold, italics and underline respectively too.

EDIT: @Derek: Yes.

Well if memory serves, this would require the addition of a new profile field as well as a template modification.
I'm unsure if I can add this with my current permission set, but if I can (and I'm correct in the way it can be added) then I would have no objections to adding this feature. As long as you realise that you won't be able to freely choose your colour by inputting Hex code, we need to consider readability on our current skin. Meaning, there would be a pre-defined set of colours.

It requires no new field. As a test, copy this
<font color="#009933"><B>Perfectly suave</font></B>
Into my usertitle field with your current ACP access, and we'll see what happens.

Ah, it's evident we're back to normal. We're now being told "yes, I'm on it," as opposed to being asked to wait xD

In any case, I'm in favour of this and I'm alright with having a select few colours.

I don't mind having set colors as well. It would be a nice feature to add fun and spark to the posts. lol. Just alittle something.

Actually, you don't even need the hex code for some of them. :P

Edit: Pooley, it goes like this: <b><span style="color: steelblue;"> </span></b>

Oh so you expect us to manually edit everybodys user title?
Or you expect everybody to know HTML? Btw, your HTML is not only deprecated but it also contains invalid nesting.

So yeah, it requires a new profile field to make it user friendly.
I'm a web developer, specialising in vBulletin, I don't talk out of my ass about these things dude.

Well it works for me on another forum, and we have no specialist hacks or anything. And all you'd have to do is tell all the staff who it concerns the basic template for it. Even have them copy and paste it, and add in the necessary parts. It's not like it's a big strain for the staff to do.

And by "a few numbers" you mean "hex code which only those with special interest in web design will know, and even so very few by heart".
Not mentioning the fact that doing this will make it extremely difficult for people to change their user titles, what with having to alert staff of every single change...

Now if I can just find the file to sort my access, I can get to work on this...

Well as Derek said, hex codes aren't always needed; only for specific shades of the colour. It should recognise the basic ones such as 'red' and 'black'.
I didn't think of actually changing the usertitle though. Of course that would off-set the whole thing.

This feature has now been successfully implemented on the forum.
You can find the drop-down for colour selection in the Edit Profile interface, right underneath the Edit User Title option.

You need to have attained at least Full Member status in order to access this feature (subject to change at any given time at the discretion of the staff).
