I was just wondering because I'm trying to see updated or just pictures of characters from 1-6 and I'm looking mostly at 3-4 since they have been updated to CG-ish and I was looking for pictures but there seems to be no pictures of Kain Highwind with a bare face. Or is it just me? I don't know it's nice looking at how they've been updated or have come to life since they couldn't show or coudln't do the same with nintendo or super nintendo.

Hmm, I think Il stick this in misc

and now you mention it, Im honestly not sure if they ever DO show his face....o_O

I don't recall him ever taking his mask off, but I don't think I beat it so I wouldnt know about the ending, lol

I'm not sure if his face is shown in the original game, but I do know that Kain does appear helmet-less Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

At the end of Final Fantasy IV: Advance (the one I've done), you see him attempting to become the Paladin equivalent of Dark Dragoon like Cecil at Mount Ordeals, and you see his hair billowing out behind him, but I don't recall his face.

Like others have said, he does remove his helmet during the ending sequence to reveal that he has long flowing blonde hair.

However you never see his face in the original game, as far as I am aware. He only removes his helmet at this time I think, and he doesn't turn around to show us his face.

You do see it in the After Years though (which I have not played). Here is a picture of him from the artwork for that:

Before the After Years though I'm sure his face is never revealed as his helmet was always on until the end of the game, and even when it was off during the ending sequence, he never showed his face. As far as I know anyway.

Well I know you see him as a youngn' in Final Fantasy 2, but I haven' played 4 in a long time and I haven't even got to look at the newer ones yet.

Kain wasn't in FF2...I think you're thinking of Richard the Dragoon, he has no relation to Kain whatsoever. IF I recall correctly his son's name is Kain, but it is just a reference, not the actual character.
I don't remember ever seeing Kain's face in FF4, the same way you never see Locke's face in FMV from 6 (geez is he that ugly?)

More so, for the fact that none of the other Final Fantasies have any relation to the subsequent series, save for Tactics, Revenant Wings and XII, and X, and X-2. So, to attempt at linking the characters up would be futile.

What Square Enix merely did was to reuse some details. That's all to it.

And I don't seem to recall him taking off his helmet. More used to the image with his helmet on.
