see something or hear something and think I know what that is but I can't remember and it pecks your head for AGES then all of a sudden, out of the blue you're liek, NOWAI D: Well that has just SO happened to me

Someone said in a fred round here somewhere 'have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight' and I KNEW I'd heard it somewhere before, I googled it and everything because it was well pecking my head, until, I gave up. I even asked in the fred, im sure I did >_>

Anyway I'm just sat here watching Batman and THE JOKER JUST SAID IT

Now, bearing in mind I'm home alone, I just screamed at the top of my voice 'ZOMG I KNEW I'D HEARD THAT SOMEWHERE BEFORE!!!!11!!11'

and also, I had some sweets years ago, and they had cartoon characters on them, named all bar one, and I KNEW I knew who it was, 2am I jumped up and yelled FOG HORN LEG HORN and scared the shit out of my cousin xD

That happened to me the other day! I was at lunch with people at my work, and we were talking about horses, and someone mentioned what a baby horse was called. I knew what it's called, but I just couldn't think of it. I knew it started with an F though for sure. I know a females a filly, and a male is a colt.

Finally I got home and I'm just sitting around messing with photoshop when it smacks me in the face. A foal! I wasn't even thinking anything of it, I had put it all out of my mind and thats when it finally came to me.

My god, this happens to me alllllllllll the time, it's so damn annoying. >_> One time that I remember really well was when I was in Rome and I forgot the word for conjunctivitus (god knows why it came up), and it kept bugging me for aaaaaaages. I didn't remember until about 2am and we were on the bus through France and I woke my friend up and was like 'IT'S CONJUNCTIVITUS!!'... she was not amused. >_>

Like I said though, it happens all the time and bugs me until I find out what it is. Or if I see lyrics in somebody's msn name, and then I hear them later in a song I'll be like 'Oh I've heard that somewhere before!!' and feel all accomplished or something, tis odd. <_<

This mostly happens with music for me, I'll hear a lyric or a riff and I know I recognise it, I just can't put my finger on it. Like Bei Bei said, only when you put everything else out of your mind it comes to you in the end.

The most annoying thing is trying to think of a word, it's right on the tip of your tongue, but it doesn't wanna come out.

This happens alllll the time with me. Like, if I'm playing WoW with some friends and we're using voice, somebody will just start randomly singing a song. And it's like, I KNOW what the song is, but I can never remember which one. It's usually a couple hours later I'm like "OH HEY THAT WAS FROM ___" and scare everyone half to death, especially since they've all forgotten it by then and are like "wtf is your problem >".

I also get the thing with song lyrics, or title, or artist. I had the same lyric going round and round my head for ages the other night when I was trying to sleep and it kept me awake, and I couldn't place it. It turned out it was I Can't Control Myself by The Pigeon Detectives.

I agree that it's worse when you have a word or name or something on the tip of your tongue and you can't quite get it out. If it's a name I usually just end up calling them Batman or something. >>

There was a word I was trying to think of for days a whileback, and Ican't remember what it was ...oh shite I'm sure it was summat to do with being ill, and it began with d... and it was pecking my head so much it was actually making me really angry......I can't remember WHY I wanted to know what the word was, but I know because I was playing Crisis Core I kept thinking it was degrading but it wasn't

I had that during the olympics. I heard the name of a Belgian athlete and wondered where I had heard that name before. Then yesterday I saw a commercial on Belgian television and it was her again. So I thought HA I knew I heard that name somewhere before. (twas about pizza hut, I never understood that commercial, but now I do because now I know who she is)
And ofcourse I am Dutch so naturally I wouldn't know the names of Belgian athletes.

Ohhhh yes, it happens to me all the time. I actually start to stumble out loud and I'm like, "Um um, what's the word...um..." It ticks me off whenever that happens. And even more so when the person I'm with offers to help me by stating the word I'm thinking of! Same with phrases, people, location, etc.

The other day at the daycare center, I saw a kid doing what he's not supposed to be doing and I just stood there, trying to think of what I'm going to say. Like it's in the back of my mind, tugging me, but I just completely forgot what I wanted to say! >.> And then I remembered, "Excuse me, are we supposed to be doing that? No, I don't think so. Put the chair up." That's like a famous line in our daycare.
