You any good?

Suprisingly, I'm actually not bad at it, I built my own bed which is huge and solid sodding wood (the fact that it is now broken in half is irrelevant) I will also be fixing it later. I always get flat pack stuff and end up having to make it myself and so far eveything is standing (altho, the fact my DVD rack fell apart is ALSO irrelevant)

I put all my own pictures up, curtain rails and all that shizz....omg.....the curtain rails are falling off aswel.....this fred is making me question my DIY abilities :wacky: Altho, in my defence, I don't have a drill and i had to screw the buggers onto the wall -_-

I'm actually not that bad at despite thestuff thats falling apart...the dvd rack only fell apart because I had a stack of stuff ontop of it and the bed, well, beer and friends obviously dont go well together <_<

Depends.

I'm really good at fixing things that are already broken, including screwing things back in, etc. I can also assemble things pretty well. But decoration, etc, I can't do.

Shit no.

I definitely don't have a mind for any kind of construction. I'm the type of person who expects the bits of wood to just support themselves without the litre of glue that they've included in the box. :wacky: I was a nightmare in the woodwork/metalwork classroom tbh.

I'm not too bad if the instructions are crystal clear but I'll still end up doing something wrong.

I am shit at following the instructions, I normally end up sat there in the middle of wood and screws trying to make sense of it all before I crack on.

Sitting there scratching my head takes up half my DIY time....

I'm terrible with that kind of stuff. If read the instructions, I can crawl my way through...but I don't really have the patience.

I go on without the instructions, mess everything up, get pissed at whatever it was I was messing with, and let someone else try to fix that which I messed up. Lots of messing up.

I can make my own bed and toast...thats about it lol. No i keed. I can cook like a pro. but when it comes to building....well...Im no Carpenter.

Considering my grandfather is a carpenter, I guess I inherited none of his craftsman genes. I'm logical with flatpack furniture but that still takes an hour or too. Quite handy with drilling too, put a dartboard up the other day.

God I love woodwork, and I'd like to think I'm pretty good at it lol. Well, I got a 1 (equivalent of an A) for it last year so that must say something. :monster: I've made a cd rack, tea tray and dvd box out of wood which are all in pretty good condition... well, they haven't fallen apart and have managed to hold all of my junk so that's good enough. xD

I've assembled everything in my room [consisting of shelves, TV stand, book stand, and general cupboard for undergarments, t-shirts etc], so I can't be bad at DIY... though I've never divulged any further into DIY than 'forming' those items, so my experience is a bit vague to say the least.

Just follow the fucking instruction book, innit.

Yeah I'm pretty good at self- assembly, though full on DIY from scratch is a bit too much.

I put together my bed and my son's bed, and I can put shelves up and stuff like that. I even managed to put up the babygate myself!!

I'm alright at it. I usually prefer reading instructions, but I'm proud to say that I managed to put my daughter's bed together without instructions. So that's something, I guess.

But then again, even with instructions, I tend to get frustrated when assembling stuff. If I think it's easy enough, I can do it. If not, I turn to my husband or bro and let them deal with it.

Hehe I love your posts, they are always so cool and interesting! :P

I tried to make my compter desk once, I put it all together and it took me about 2 hours, was really proud of myself, and then the minute I put my computer on it, It literally collapsed within a second. I'm well good!

I finally fixed my bed the other day, Iv slept on it fine since aswel so heres hoping it won't collapse on me :wacky:

I hung a picture on my new kitchen wall which is suprisingly level for once

I even had to pull my washing machine out and fiddle with it because the stupid workmen didt put it back in properly so that works again

AND I wired my first ever plug so now my cooker finally works proper (again, stupid builders messing things up)

I might have to carry on my DIY run of greatness and see if I can stop my stupid dryer leaking water all over the kitchen. That stupid machine has had me fall onmy arse too many times -_-

i can make a few stuff from wood like bed, table, sword.

Sword? Haha, just a general, everyday household item then, yeah? This evening I went to my friends house, and she'd had a new wardrobe delivered earlier in the day and had only noticed it now because we'd both got back from college. So we spent 3 hours trying to assemble it, and I gotta say, it was looking pretty good!

i diy everything. mostly automotive stuff. my latest is turning my center console into a zune dock

its not done yet but im fiberglassing my ashtray closed to mount the dock to the bottom

I'm ok at it. I love having a challenge, but I'd really have to be in the right mood and be very patient with it. It's great to do when you're bored and have nothing else to do, and the satisfying feeling you get when you finish can't be beat!

I never really need to put things together, but when I do, it's normally simple stuff. I mean, how hard is it to put together a bookshelf or a desk? I'm sure I'd be rubbish at putting more complicated things together, seeing as how I never read the instructions... ah, well. :)
