Square Enix has released a new video showing the battle system of Dissidia : Final Fantasy for the PSP, which is scheduled for December 18 in Japan.

Wow this game is going to be so freakin amazing because it is just so cool when you battle Sephiroth the music is one winged angel amazing. I imagine that was sephiroth's ex mode at the end right?

The battle system looks a tad bit confusing though. I'm guessing the bars at the bottom of the screen represent hp? Ah well, it's probably simpler than it seems.

I like that the characters can fly through the air like that though. Should make escaping and/or attacking a lot easier.

What are those numbers next to the health bar? This video was just so sick!!! Also how come cloud beat sephiroth if sephiroth used his ex?
 
The numbers that show up above the health bar appear to be how much damage is done in each combo... I thought it actually was the health bar but you can see it climb with every successful volley of attacks.
 
Wow I thought it was the health bar also but it is the number of hits then. I want to see a video of Golbez vs Cecil or Jecht vs Tidus. Wow I can not wait till this game. Did sephiroth use is ex mode in this battle?

And yes Sephiroth's Ex-Mode is the one wing. And his Ex-Burst is the supernova thing (red fireball engulfing everything).

Wow The Tidus vs Jecht video and Garland vs warrior of light video were cool. Can not wait for this game. Hey who seriously designed cloud of darkness was square enix drunk while designing her? I also saw the battle of onion knight and cloud of darkness but it was strange onion knight beat her.

He wasn't talking to you. The time he posted was when a troll posted horrendous pictures, only his post was deleted so you wouldn't have know he posted to start with. :P

Anyway, back on topic. The video is indeed quite epic and tbh, it's probably the best battle video I have seen to date. Even if I do hate Cloud and Sephiroth, but yeah, it has raised my expectations of the game. :)
