So which style do you prefer: Action-style or Command-style? Do you use both?

I just unlocked the Command-style and it's actually pretty useful for easy-moderate battles. It has more of that RPG-element style and it gives my hands a chance to rest. But the downside is that the character will sometimes do something stupid and you'll have no control over it. I still like it and I'll use it every now and then, but I think I like the Action-style better since it's more interactive and fun. You really get a feel of the fast-paced battle yourself, which is what makes the game a winner.

Tbh I like the action style better cause you can do whatever you want and move freely. Is the command style exclusive to the english version only? Never have seen it in the jap version tbh. Anyways Command style is ok and I understand what you mean by more RPG like. But really action is much better cause you can do whatever. How would command style work online though?

I have no idea to both of your questions. =/ Check the Options and see if it gives you the option to enable it or not.

I heard that you can equip something later so that the AI in command-style would be much better. Like I said, it's not recommended for tougher battles since your characters doesn't really react accurately to any situations, but if I'm on Story-mode and doing extremely easy battles (enemies who are level 1-5) then I wouldn't have a problem using it. But overall it's definitely Action-style for me.

Shirona, the "Command Battle" Mode is in the Japanese version as well. It was installed to kind of take the game back to FF's roots as an RPG, and its beneficial for those who are not so good with the "fighting" aspect of the game. In the mode, a menu system is implemented. On the menu, you have "Fight" for Brave Attacks, and "Super" (or "Hissatsu" in the Japanese version) for HP-drain attacks. You can even do the traditional L and R to flee when your opponent attacks. As stated, it's possible to complete the Story Mode with it as well, and great for the lesser fights.

While I prefer the Action-based gameplay more, I like using the Command mode on occasion. It's great when you need to get through the little stuff while you're occupied. So it's definitely beneficial for easy progressions. And it's also fun to try and match up characters in fights using this system, to see what certain match ups would be in a manner similar to their initial RPG formats. It's a nice little aspect.

I'm an Action-Style guy ^-^ I've tried both types of battle, and after trying the Command Battle, I reverted back to AS straight away. Full control of the battle is my way to play. Besides, Command Battle is pretty much Action-Style, without the movement <.<

Command style would have been more fun in my opinion if it was more of a completely different way to play the game. I stick with Action ALWAYS. I feel like Command style should have been changed ever so slightly to make the battles seem more different instead of just making it seem slower, out of flow, and less control over your character.

I reckon that, if they had made Command Battle into a mode where you have access to EVERY Offensive Ability in your Ability List, it would've worked out a lot better. If you could choose which Ability to use, instead of having a small list to work with - as such in Action-Style - then it would be much more favoured, and useful, than it is now.

Imagine having a caster-type character who you could leave to run around by themselves, and you could CHOOSE what magic to use? How awesome would that be?! That would be the true Command Battle style. To choose what action to take, while leaving your movement to be idle.

The thing that makes Command Battle such a loss is that it really depends on Turn-based battles. In Dissidia it is, thankfully, fully action, and you need to constantly move, or you will be punished in a way that you'd be left unrecognizable, even by your mom! That's an exaggeration, but you get what I mean :3

action-style,hands down.

More effort please, try to elaborate why you prefer action-style ^^

Anyhoo, action style for me. I tried command style and I just got really frustrated, since the character was doing all sorts of stupid things and made me lose -__- I prefer action style because then you have full control over the characters, and it makes for better gameplay, imo.

Is command style, like original FF titles, FFI/FFII and such like? I've yet to try it, though the thought of using something like that in a fighting game well and truly puts me off. I use action style, I prefer to just go in there, all hack-n-slash style with brute force. :wacky:

Command-Battle is pretty much the same as Action-Style, only you don't have control over the movement of your character. They will move by themselves, but give you full control over the use of their abilities. The classic menu of "Fight, Magic, Item" would show up on the left side, but will have different options to take.

Command-Battle is just a way to play for those who don't have much skill in maneuvering their character around the map. Attacking is still all up to you - the player.

I tried using the command style once and I honestly hated it. It just didn't feel right. I guess that's just because I think of Dissidia as a fighting game, and not an RPG. Having the actions there sort of makes me feel disconnected from the fight.

Command & Action Style

Which one you like using? (i know there is similiar thread, but this one is with poll xD)

For me it will be Action Style, cause it's more fun :)
I wanna know everyone's word. Start Voting!

Without doubt, the Action Style. Command Style wasn't anything like I hoped it to be. It was just Action Style with commands which you can choose to input. If it had been something like old-school Final Fantasy games, I'd have changed my mind about this.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, so I chose Action Style.

Definitely action style. Tried the command style and it just didn't work for me like the older versions of FF. Something was missing.

Action Style all the way.
before buying I kept saying to a friend of mine: "oh, I'll use the command style because it's more KH-like(I played KH/KH2 for the first time a short time ago), and it's probably gonna be easier."
After I unlocked the command style and tried it, I was like: "what a crap, action style's better"

Yeah action-style is way better
In command-style, you basically don't do anything and as someone already said its not what everyone was expecting, if there was classic-style then the game would of been more loved :D

Seeing as it's pretty much the same thing, I'm going to go ahead and merge the two threads. The voting poll will be included.

i prefer action style because the first time i put it into command style, my character was attacked and just stood there like an idiot lol, i have never used it since because i was so frustrated lol
