Fan Fiction Dissidia 012 Discussion

As far as I am aware, they're trying to break down the border between Cosmos and Chaos. That's why new characters like Lightning and Kain have been introduced and why others like Kuja and Tifa don't seem to know the light from the darkness. It's only natural to not have a balance between good and evil.

Besides, name as many heroes across all the games as villains. I dare you. ;)

EDIT: It might help if Duodecim got it's own thread, but I guess it'll have to wait until release - I can't see any other way in justifying it otherwise.

Here are 2 new videos from the Official Dissidia Duodecim Japanese Site.

Update:

You may have played Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy at the Tokyo Game Show. But you'll want to head out to this weekend's Jump Festa event to play it again, as the new demo will feature playable Tifa, Laguna and Vaan.
Square Enix posted a control chart for the Jump Festa demo today. The chart lists the following characters. Assist Characters are in parenthesis:
  • Lightning (Warrior of Light)
  • Vaan (Tina)
  • Kain (Cecil)
  • Tifa (Cloud)
  • Warrior of Light (Kain)
  • Zidan (Kuja)
  • Sephiroth (Garland)
  • Laguna (Squall)
  • Firion (Tidus)
  • The Emperor (Garland)
You can see the characters' skills and moves bellow. The second chart is a basic guide to the game.

If you'd like to compare, view the Tokyo Game Show Duodecim chart.

Right, I'm not gonna give you perverts the satisfaction of saying it.

...Yes, they jiggle -_-

But Vaan and Tifa are rather impressive. They're both pretty fast, although Tifa looks like she can dodge better than Vaan, but Vaan's attack seem faster-although maybe that was the dash ability? :hmmm:

I didn't recognize the BGM playing but it reminded me of something from FFXII, so a remix maybe? But it looks like they were fighting at Zanarkand. I think Tifa's assit was Cloud, but he just did the generic attack, however Vaan had Terra, eh? Sword or no sword, that girl can do some decent damage with that magic at a long range xD

Lightning was too far away in the screen to see what she was doing. Laguna actually looks pretty hard to control. I think he's gonna give me trouble to be honest. All those guns and imputing the right commands seems too confusing. His LimitBreak does resemble his Desperado move a lot. I liked that targeting addition to it.

I guess they were in Orphan's cradle for the fight, and FFVIII's Boss battle remix playing-groovy ^_^

And lol, what a good son Squall is, assisting his daddy. Actually, one of Laguna's move, I swear it looks like a knock off of Squall's Blasting Zone move back in Dissidia.

And asdfghjkl, KUJA is ASSISTING Zidane at the Demo Testing? o_O

wait, Kuja assists Zidane? 8( That don't make any sense atall. :mokken:

...I feel like I've been living in a bizarro world where people have been expecting the same stuff as last time. As far as I was aware, things are going to be MUCH different.
They've as much as come out and said that this game is definitely not going to be as clear-cut as the last. Differentiating between Cosmos and Chaos will be a lot more difficult, as the pieces take up differing sides in the battle. The inclusion of Kain and what we've seen of Terra, Kuja and Tifa confirms that alliances are indeed becoming morphic, changing over time. It's very possible that the term "Warrior of Cosmos" or "Warrior of Chaos" could be completely inappropriate.

From here on out, I'm gonna start terming them heroes and villains, as allegiance seems to have been (finally) broken down.

It's indeed form FFXII, "Esper Battle" They didn't change the song a lot, except the addition of an electric guitar. IT ROCKS !!!!!

But the other song at Laguna vs Lightning video is unknow to me. It's either form VIII or XIII and how funny because it's the two only FF i didn't play yet. XD

for Kaiser6012: Sorry but i can't help but laugh at your avatar. I could watch it for HOURS ! XD Isn't it form Disney's Road to Eldorado or something like that ?

You make a good point, and there's certainly been enough evidence to support Kuja at least isn't hostile to the Cosmos warriors. I just don't understand what he's gonna be doing in the game then.

I wonder if we'll see Chaos make an appearance. I mean, he should, but we've seen Cosmos a few times already, but no sign of him.

As I said, enough has happened in this game's development cycle to completely stump me as to how they're going to proceed. I have no clue as to how the villains are going to interact with the heroes in this one or how clear the lines drawn in the sand are. At the momennt, all that story stuff I can't give any word on until we know more.

@AquaLuna: Firstly, the music that played in the Laguna/Lightning battle was a rearrangement of a song called "Force your Way", which is the standard boss music in FF VIII (it plays when facing the Elnoyle on the Sattelite dish, when facing Gerogero etc.)
And yes, my avvie is from the Road to El Dorado. It's just such an awesome avatar and it's light on the bandwidth so I can use it most anywhere.

We all know that Tifa's Final Weapon is called Premium Heart and that's why it has a heart in it. Although it look the same heart shape as the Kingdom Hearts title, it doesn't mean that it has to do something with Kingdom Hearts. It just a design to match the weapon's name that's all.

If you want to look beyond a heart symbol being on a weapon with the word "heart" in it, well, it's Nomura's design all around. Why wouldn't he do some promotion of the Kingdom Hearts series? Why else can people have KH1 Cloud in Duodecim?

It's just marketing, peeps, don't have to mean much more than that :monster:

Besides, in a FF crossover where some of the higher-ups can't decide whether KH should be included or not, this is the best way of including some unspoken series and characters - hell, they did it with the help icons, with the weapons - heck, some of the refining items reference games, movies and books outside FF completely (as one example, the Throat Wolf Fang is a dig at Magic: The Gathering and all the fuss made over a supposed rare card). These sorts of references are brilliant, but ultimately fluff.

On a side note, I just thought of something. D'you think they'll use cameos in the help menus to describe how to play? If so, will Penelo be the one describing who's who again? It'd just be funny to see what she says now that Vaan finally made it to Dissidia.

DISSIDIA 2 it has to be awsome and nto have a huge release gap like the first 1

Japan's getting the game March 3rd

Maybe we'll be lucky and get it in April (or earlier; same time even?) ♥
