Opinions on sequels to Disney movies? To me they just seem like a lame attempt with even more/worse songs to try and get the next generation into the originals. MAYBE IF DISNEY RELEASED THEM MORE OFTEN ON DVD THIS WOULDN'T NEED TO HAPPEN.

The only Disney sequel I actually liked, was Lion King 2, and not that God awful Lion King 1/2 bullshit.

Mark I await your rebuttal. :mokken:

Some Disney sequels were worthwhile, like the Little Mermaid 2, or The Lion King 2, and the whole Aladdin Trilogy is pretty good.

However. Others are just abortions. It's the only word for them. Bambi 2, Mulan 2, Cinderella 2... they're all just bad movies.

The worst Disney sequel, in my opinion, has to be Pocahontas 2. The original is such a good movie, and the chemistry between Pocahontas and John Smith is so powerful, even though it's a kiddie movie, it's still brilliantly emotional (I have it on my iPod >_>) and then Pocahontas 2 just... shits on it from a great height. :rage:

Personally, apart from the odd few, Disney Sequels are just the studio using the character's likenesses and then destroying their personalities. They were only made to create money, and they lack all the heart and soul, corny but true, that was put into the original movies.

There's another Narnia film coming out in December.I don't know if you consider those Disney films.

What about Tron ?
Do you consider it a Disney film ?
The sequel comes out next year.I think. Of course I hope it will be good but it's too early to say of course.

we'll see what happens with those sequels I have mentioned.

Yeah Pocahontas 2 really was the worst, wasn't it? >.> Anything else really is just a lame attempt at taking the character's personalities and completely ruining them. But Pocahontas 2 didn't even make sense! Who the eff was the British guy and what did he have to do with anything? Ugh.

Sorry, by Disney we meant Disney CARTOON. D;

I don't mean to be a jew, but DISNEY GAVE NARNIA UP AND VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER IS FROM 20TH CENTURY FAX! Just thought you'd find that interesting.

I do make an effort to avoid disney sequels though (the cartoon classics, of course), because they do seem to do nothing but destroy the beauty of the original.

There are very few Disney sequels that I would consider to be worthwhile.

I liked Rescuers Down Under and even thought it was better than the original. I also liked all the Aladdin movies. Lion King 2 I like and hate. I thought it was a good story but some things in the movie just didn't work for me. And it was vastly inferior to the original.

I agree about Pochahontas 2. Sure the original butchered history, but I still thought it was a good movie. And I don't really give a rats ass about the real Pochahontas so it didn't bother me that it was historically innacurate. I thought the love story was beautiful and had one of the most emotional Disney Endings.

Fox and the Hound 2 was dreadful and so was Lady and the Tramp 2. And I'm glad that the Dumbo sequel never happened D:

Quit being such a Jew. :mokken:

I didn't actually know the Narnia series was Disney to begin with, tbh. Interesting fact.

Well it's both.. isn't it? I'm pretty sure it's both Disney and Pixar

Disney sequels are obviously nothing more than cheap cash-ins to appeal to older Disney fans who have half a brain and wouldn't dream of watching the completely shit "new generation" movies Disney produce now.

...Return of Jafar was good, though. I remember being really excited when that came out. Same with Lion King 2, although that wasn't quite as good, because it didn't have Scar...

Toy Story 2 was a great movie, but some of the sequels disney has come up with, SUCK!
I quite liked Lion King 1/2, it actually made me laugh.

It's weird, I had Return of Jafar, but not the original Aladdin.. so I ended up knowing the second a lot better than the first... but it seemed alot like the cartoon series.

I never saw Return of Jafar. I would like to though, I'm sure it's an alright movie. I have Aladdin and the King of Theives and I think it's a terrific sequel.

Guys, this is a post count section, so let's cut down on the one liners, okay? ^^

I'm glad that my favourite Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty, has never received a sequel. They'd probably find some stupid way of resurrecting Maleficent, since no Maleficent = No Sleeping Beauty movies.

I think that with some Disney sequels, they've clearly put in a lot of effort. Like Rydia said, The Rescuers Down Under is better than the original movie, and they clearly put a lot of effort into that movie, but most others are just half-assed attempts to make money.

Like Lilo And Stitch. The original movie was wonderful, it was funny and emotional, but, then they made the cartoon series... and more movies, and they just killed it D: Some of the movies just have no space for sequels, so they should avoid. LIKE CINDERELLA D=

I thought The Little Mermaid 2 was a bit shit, fuck off with the scorned relative clichés.

Lion King 2 kind of ruined the original ending where it emphasised the circle of life but the film itself was actually really good.

I like the Aladdin trilogy but each film lacks the impact of the last and I'm glad they finished at 3.

Others are decent but are not as good as originals, e.g. Rescuers

Everything else is poo...Cinderella 2, Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, Mulan 2, 102 Dalmations/101 Dalmations 2 (Patch's London Adventure, wtf?), Beauty and the Beast 2, Bambi 2...I think I saw Cinderella 3 kicking about one day as well and it's just like, stop shattering my childhood, stop letting Pixar be the biggest part of your company and get back to good sing-a-long films.

No one will go to Disneyland to see Bolt or Bee Movie or Chicken Little, they'll go to be dazzled by the performances that were done brilliantly years ago. There's a show in Florida called FANTASMIC! (that's basically Kingdom Hearts without Sora - Maleficent VS Mickey, villains VS heroes) and it wouldn't be a fraction as DIVINE as it is if they used, say, the English twat from Pocahontas 2.

On the topic of Pixar, though, Toy Story 2 was great and I actually can't wait for the 3rd
