I tried looking for a thread about this topic and couldn't so here goes. When you first start the game in the reactor did you save Jessie? I mean I dont know anybody who hasn't so I figured I would ask you guys. I dont know what would happen if you didn't save her, its tempting to do it but I just dont seem to have the guts to 'kill' her.

Any thoughts?

You have no choice, I tried leaving her once, the others made me go back for her -__-

i left her, but did it really matter? i did it to see what happens and was not very happy with what did-__- made me do more work. but i did save her my first time because i wanted to be a gentleman:)

On my first play through I did leave her, I swear I didn't see her there when I went through the reactor the first time and ended up dying D:

Then I looked in the manual and it told me to rescue her xD I facepalmed... HARD.

I think they should have made it a choice of whether or not you could save her. Like if you didn't 'see' her that it would change the game completely. Maybe even add a little content, because if Jessie wasn't alive then AVALANCHE would need a new computer's expert. And you would have to go around the slums looking for a new computer expert. I think that would have been cool if they did that.

I didn't realise you had to save her at first, on my first playthrough (thinking back now). I assumed she was just messing about and wiggling and that while the countdown was going down, so I ran past her. But I do believe I was told off and told to go back for her...

I rescued as normal every other time since then as there is no point trying not to, and I liked saving her anyway.

So no, the game doesn't go on a different path as she has to be saved.

For those of you who don't know, not going back for Jessue results in
AVALANCHE being unable to open the security doors on the way back out of the reactor and being caught inside when the bomb detonates - this is one of the only ways, if not THE only way, to get a game over outside of a battle
.

So, it's compulsory to save her.

EDIT:
In case it wasn't clear, I only learned that from an unfortunate bout of curiosity in me. :wacky:

I saved her the first time I played, it just seemed natural.
The 2nd time I decided to not save her just to see what happens. It ended with me backtracking my way through the reactor and escaping with a few seconds to spare.
I learned my lesson: No Man or Woman left Behind

Lol, that same thing happened to me too. Curiosity ended up killing the cat in that one. X_X The first time I played though, I definitely saved her. I really liked her character and I thought she was a sweetie... if anyone else, I may have ditched them. :P

I think most people probably missed her the first time time through the game. I really honestly can't remember because I played this game literally pretty much right when it came out, I was like 4 or 5 at the time. Almost positive I did though because I couldn't read back then. :p

I made it back in time after they said OHAI WHERE IS JESSIE, I was like aw ffs, so I went back got her and got out with afew minutes to spare

I guess Im just quicker than you ;D

I never really thought about this untill I saw this thread o.o Leaving Jesse....I dunno. She may be my favorite person from AVALANCHE, aside from Tifa. She seemed pretty cool. I mean she was sweet, and could build explosives. What more do you want? lol xD

I, luckily, had rescued Jessie the very first time, because i always talk to everything i see in final fantasy games :)

I just go talk to her out of habit. I was contemplating what would happen if I left her when I recently started playing the game again. Looks like you have to, though.

Lmao...i accidentally walked past her and went to the next screen on one of my playthroughs.. but then i was like... nooooo i knew i forgots something.. and rescued her. lmao

On my first playthrough I saved her but on my second I decided to leave her to burn. Turns out that AVALANCHE doesn't listen to briefings well because she was the only bint who knew the code. I went back and got her with a few minuets to spare and my yellow spiky haired arse in one piece.

i saved her everytime, i relli dont know what happens if u leave her, post bk to me and tell me what happened cause i relli dont wanna start a new game being so far into it, even when i got the game when it first came out of ps1 i still saved her, and i played it through a lot of times and i relli dont think iv forgoteen her ever
