Also your thoughts on your actions please :)

Im sad to say that ive never been able to save Cid in the three times ive attempted to  which disspapoints me as i want to know what the cutscene is like if you save Cid XD

However i liked the fact that i let Cid die - it showed Celes' most vunerable side and made you feel really sorry for her, Celes' attempted suicide is (rather perversly) on of the most beautiful FF Cutscenes of all time as it really portrays a lot of emotions and material that we didnt see anywhere else in the game or the series

I only safed him once...because it gets really boring after a while having to come and give him more and more fish!

Plus i only realized i could actually safe him on my 3rd walkthrough...but if you ask me it´s not worth it!

I saved Cid. :P I was actually playing with a walkthrough then.. it says it won't affect the ending whether you save him or not but I still chose to do it. :D though I like that dramatic scene a lot too. This was actually mentioned in EGM in an issue of FF9(which is old now). It said something like those who remember "losing entire nights of sleep catching fish in order to keep Cid alive" will have nostalgia in FF9.

i have never saved cid because i never used a walkthrough although when i did get close once i started getting bad fish so cid died which really annoyed me

I tried to get as many fish as possible, but it got so tedious after a while that I just did what I could to progress in the game. Going back and forth from Cid's house to the beach to collect fish for a half hour is in my opinion a huge waste of time. He eventually died of course.

i was thinking that too (the cid being unable to save bit) but if you can save cid then how does celes get the motivation to leave the island?

Cid will tell her that he wants her to travel the world and he'll be fine on his own. Then she'll still meet that bird carrying Locke's bandana.

haha I guess I would've get shocked too if I didn't find that out in my walkthrough.

yeah you can save Cid - its just easier to kill him XD and it adds so much more to Celes' character - a mighty imperial general reduced to suicide. and with her theme music playing in the background....its so beautiful ^_^

I think letting Cid die is more plot-related then letting him live

I let him die.
You gain nothing from saving him.

I find it funny how if you save Cid, Celes says she'll come back for him, and when she does, he just stays there.

 yeah that kinda leaves a gaping plot hole...maybe they should have had it so if cid lives he becomes a playable character...

in the end i think that whether Cid lives or Cid dies is a case of "Plot related Scenario or Non-Plot scenario"

It could've been definitely better if they added this at the ending isn't it? I think FF6 lacks some challenge like bonus scenarios and some decent hidden bosses.
