Did you or did you not?

Did you read the rules before posting when you first signed up?

Like the title suggests, who in here started posting right away without reading the rules first when you first signed up?

I admit, I'm guilty here. =/ (Especially since this is my first forum). I read a few posts from people and got the gist right away. So I posted. ^_^ However, I did doublepost a few times. >.< (Oh yeah, I remember.) After about 10 posts or so, I finally read the rules! :P I found a lot of interesting stuff, and I'm like, "Ohhh, so you're not supposed to do this or that...ok, I get it."

Heh, so anyone out there? Raise your hand. :P

EDIT: I'm not getting chewed out for this, am I? =/

Nope. Don't normally read the rules. If I see a thread for introducing yourself, I will do so then post in other threads. Most of it is usually about language or creating duplicate threads. Since I don't start many threads then I didn't bother reading them. I would check to see if it is okay to swear as I tend to use bad language often but I saw a few people saying nasty words but I still have only limited myself to words like crap. :) If there is something that I'm unsure of them I would read to make sure.

The only reason I didn't bother, was because I'm already a forum vet. :p

And as such, I arrogantly waltzed in here thinking I knew it all, but later decided to check 'em out after about a month or so. Some forums have additional rules, or individualistic ones. Curiosity got the better of me.

I didn't, since I know most forum rules. I learned the hard way that forums all have some variation of rules though, and what was considered ok on some places wasn't allowed here (i.e. short posts), so i read the rules.

I'm already a forum vet, but I do tend to look through a forum's rules to make sure there's nothing I missed :) I'm actually not sure if I read the rules before making my intro post here, but I'm fairly sure that I did. *Ponders*

I actually did. Typically I just jump right in with both feet and start posting... but I actually looked at the rules this time around. I'd just gotten fed up with another forum for it's horrible and random rules... so I decided to check those out before I really got into the swing of things. Actually BustaMo had shown me this site several times before I got interested. I had kind of sworn off forums... but it managed to draw me in anyhow. lol But yea, I actually did read through them. There are a lot of rules this place doesn't have that other forums I've been to did. Kinda glad to see this place is so lax, comparitively.

Wow, so far only one person's read the rules before posting. And by Mr. Rambunctious too. ^^ :P

Hmm, actually I didn't even know psuedo modding wasn't allowed until about a month and a half ago. =/ Hah, two months ago I did a psuedo modding on this one girl who was advertising. BustaMo PM'ed me and was like, "Hey. great job on handling the situation blah blah blah." Then I saw Lady Aerith telling people that psuedo modding wasn't allowed a few weeks later. Lmao I was like, "Ooops...better delete the posts I made." (See why it's so important to read the rules first, everyone?! :P )

Hmm, makes me wonder if BustaMo read the rules too. Pfft, he could've just told me psuedo modding wasn't allowed. Lol the fact that he didn't probably means he didn't know either. :P

Lol I still psuedomodd way too much. Oh well, it's never a big deal. And yea, I read the rules PH. :P I told you guys she's big on deleting posts. "Mitsuki made me" is the reason I put for why I delete half my posts. lol

Can't say I did....
But I've been to a couple of forums, so I know how the rules work.
I gotta admit that I haven't read the rules yet.. but obviously I'm not breaking them ;)

I could get shot for this, but to be perfectly honest, I didn't. I had already been a member of SquareInsider for about three months and, being my first forum, I read the rules over there and got on very well. I was then PMed about this site [heh xD] and came here. Welcome member #78 :]

So when I came over here, the place was empty and the rules were lacking, to say the least - so were the members, too. But then, the forums grew and so did my status - I was promoted. Being a staff member kind of necessitates rules enforcement, and how could I enforce them if I didn't know them? :P

They're mainly all about common sense, anyway.

No, I didn't. Why?

I have owned and worked on too many forums to not know how to act on one, I know I am not above the rules, but sometimes something aren't necessary.

Lol I've been on tons of different forums but I still read the rules. Granted a big part of it was to see what I could legitimately get away with... but that's not the point. lol

I did mainly due to Aztec's reasons as well. We were part of a site where you can't post in a topic if it's over 2 weeks old or else you get yelled at for it. (Rezzing) I like the whole archiving topics way, much better.

I read them here because if I'm going to spend time posting here, I want to know what I will and won't get yelled at for. Now that I'm staff I need to know what to look for so I can fairly adjust my modding skills and techniques to them.
