Crisis Core Did you cry? Were you moved?

At first, I thought I knew what I was going to see at the end. When I played FFVII, I really did not feel much after Zack's death. We knew little about him. But now, after seeing all that he went through and THEN watching him die in such a heroic fashion (great graphics helped as well)...it ripped my heart clean out of my chest...the most emotional gaming moment since Aerith's death. What made it worse was his face when Angeal (I think...) lifted him from the ground...it was so...serene...

Definitely not. You're never alone in the internets.

yep....

Yep. There's that, and the ShinRa classified Zack as KIA. If the ShinRa says you're supposed to be dead and you're not, they're going to try their damnedest to make the records true. :neomon:

Zack was weakened by experimentation and as such; he was not at the peak of his skill.

You DID play the original FFVII, right? Then you should've known that he died by the infantrymen BEFORE you played CC. :ffs:

Also, HELL YEAH I WUZ PISSED! All that he went through and he gets killed by infantrymen...Shinra's D student! I knew it was coming and it STILL tore my heart to pieces! Such a kick to the balls >_<

Not to mention he killed their entire army of soldiers... I mean, regardless of how strong he was, after taking on that many soldiers, he was bound to be exhausted by the time the last three showed up.

Cloud and Zack knew to much basically. They had seen what Sephiroth did to the town, and Shinra didn't want word of that getting out. So their plan was simple: Rebuild the town, place their employees in it, and turn all of the survivors from the incident into Sephiroth clones. They didn't think that Zack would escape, so when he did they couldn't just leave him alive to run around and tell everyone what really happened. Plus, Zack had been a faithful Shinra employee, and they pretty much stabbed him in the back. I imagine they were also afraid that he would be out for revenge, so they ordered him to be taken out before he could do any damage to the Shinra name.

oh i get it...i played and beat ff7 but i dont remember when you find out that zack was killed by infantrymen...i just dled it onto my computer and plan on playing through again, but at what point do you find out zack was killed by infantrman

Once you've reached Disc three, run down to the bottom of the ShinRa manor where the lab is, and there'll be a flashback. I'm not sure if you can do it after Cloud discovers he's emulating Zack though, but you'd think that you could.

No, not only that they knew too much, but Cloud and Zack where precious specimens. They'd had all kinds of experiments performed on them throughout those 5 years. They even said it in the game that inside Cloud's body he holds a sample of the S-cells, same with Zack. That's why they were being so brutally chased.

And the S-cells were the key in stopping Hollander and Genesis' degradation process. You cannot allow such specimen to escape.

I find it fascinating how SE managed to create a story within THE story. But honestly, with the events of FFVII:CC, FFVII, FFVII:AC and FFVII: DoC, that's WAY too much for one planet to go through in one decade...but that's off-topic.

So ShinRa after Zack, ShinRa find Zack and ShinRa kill Zack. That's basically the rundown. Sad, I know, but what can you do?

That bit just really pulled the heartstrings, as I'd completely forgotten that Zack dies until I'd reached Banora. There was that, and it was very fucking sudden. The game didn't even give you a chance to sit back and enjoy your triumph over Genesis D :

Sheesh, that's true... but I knew that long before reaching that part... stupid friends who "spoil" endings... but, anyways, they were important experiments "That ShinRa infantryman holds the last pure S-cells."

...but, is it really so hard to find an army and a bunch of helicopters?, :S I still wonder why the turks couldn't arrive sooner...

it does pull the heartstirngs doesnt it....you really build this sweet connection with zack through the game....hes a likable character....n then he dies....n you know its gonna happen the whole game...you really dont want him to n its totally bummer that its just the way it goes...its like when aeris died....you totally saw it coming but there was nohting you could do n it was totally bummer

After like two months of casual playing, I beat it. So many unanswered questions. What happened in the reactor after Cloud had stabbed Sephiroth? Where did Tifa go? Where is Cissnei? What happened with Genesis? A lot of holes that should get plugged up :P

As far as the ending goes though, you knew Zack was going to die and I thought it was well done. He saved Cloud by hiding him behind the rocks and facing the ShinRa army sacrificing himself for his friend. If only he had turned around when Cloud was reaching out towards him coming out of his comatose/trance state. The final battle with the three infantrymen where he is near dead with 1 HP, the music (which was excellent match; really gave it that heroic feel), the DMW attempting to land on 3x Aerith for that Healing Wave and when it did, it was too late. I was like "COME ON, IT'S TOO LATE NOW! WTF" =(

They need another movie/game or something to fill in the rest of what happened at the end :)

I didn't cry, but I was moved by the ending. Everything that Zack did from the reactor onwards for Cloud. Why did he, Cloud was a lowly ranked infantryman. He did it for his friend. He could have left him to die but he didn't. He sacrificed himself to save and protect his friend. A tragic ending to one of the most likeable characters in an FF game.

Ending

it was kind of weird with how many times he got shot and lived and gave his sword to cloud. i will admit it was sad but it took me a second to realize it because of watching how many times he was shot

I know... but, on another point, I'm pretty sure most of those (if not all) questions clear after FFVII, AC, DoC, etc...

Yeah, I mean, I never played FFVII, and when I played FFVII:CC all the parts of the movie that I didn't have a clue about got filled in. Like when you see Cloud go through a small flash back (in the movie) of Sephiroth standing in the flames and turning around and walking away, I had no idea what had happened and that game filled me in. I actually thought that Sephiroth was evil from the start before I played the game. And I hate how Zack dies; and with all of the stuff he said to Cloud when he was dieing "Live for the both of us.", that really got me..... I knew that Zack was going to probably die because he had the Buster Sword, and that's Cloud's famous sword, so he had to get it somehow.... I grew a really big connection with him throughout the game (I mean, he was the strongest 1st class SOLDIER ever), and when he died, it really hit me.... I think that was the stupidest thing to do to him, at least they should have gotten him killed by something that was worth it....

The first two questions are answered in Last Order.. 1. Hojo took them as experiments (they were knocked out cold) 2. Tifa's Master came in shortly after the fight and saved Tifa from Shin' Ra

The last question was in the ending of CC, he was taken by Weiss and Nero..
but still what happens after that to genesis and how he got to the point in DoC and what happens after mark my words WILL BE EXPLAINED IN ANOTHER SEQUEL I PROMISE IT.. I might start a thread about why i think that if im not too lazy
