Is it just me that got the impression that whilst on the pilgrimage Auron just didnt care what happened to anybody except yuna and tidus?

No. But I woudn't doubt that he's partial to them, seeing as that Yuna and Tidus are the son and daughter of his only friends.

he didnt really know anyone but tidus and yuna (well sort of)
but i think he does care but hes not the emotional person so maybe he keeps it to himself

I think his quiet, wisdom-like, and stoic attitudes were a result of him having already gone through this story once before. He was there to accompany Braska on his pilgrimage with Jecht, and he suffered that first time through. He was a jumpy youthful warrior in which his spontanuity got the best of him. His sudden attack on Yunalesca left him fatally wounded; that was his mistake.

Now, 10 years later, he's more experienced and is watching others take the same journey he once traveled. He's there to guide, and assist. He doesn't ahve to be the youthful rambunctious warrior he once was; he's now a legendary warrior ronin who has suffered greatly, but has become a hero because of his past.

I'm pretty sure he cared. He just doesn't like to show it. Not even to the players. :P I just have that impression on him. His characters says a lot.

Seymore wanted to marry Yuna to become sin?

Huh? o_O

Well the relationship, remember that yunalesca, said the realationship between the summoner and someone that is special to her, if that bond is strong enough, it will conquire sin, so Seymour wanted to become sin, but he needed to make a bond with yuna, and he did that by marrying her

I think he cared, he's just not the type to make his feelings obvious. I think he showed it more towards Yuna and Tidus because Yuna was the summoner who was going to sacrifice herself and Tidus was new to the world and didn't really know what was going on. Plus he had that promise with Ject. And like everyone else said, he was good friends with both their parents.

He's kind of like a battle hardened soldier.

Spoilers put in and yes you did here jecht and aurons voices in the back ground whilst fighting vegnagun not shuyin, but what has that got to do with the topic?

I'm not sure if he did or didn't, If he did he wouldn't have said "Fine stay here if you want" at Luca to Tidus, but if he didn't he wouldn't have told Tidus not to tell Yuna about Jecht.

You can never tell with Auron I suppose.

I have a question, in the last battle against shuyin in X-2, is it auron's and jecht's voice in the background?

I think it is Auron and Jecht talking to Yuna at the end of X-2 and I wouldn't be surprised 1 bit if it was.

If you remember, Auron was already dead throughout the whole game, he was pretty much just a ghost. The only reason he stayed in the world of the living was because he promised Jecht and Braska that he would look after their children, Yuna and Tidus, since Braska died doing the final summon and Jecht became Sin. That's the reason why Auron only seems to care about Tidus and Yuna.

He coldnt. he wanted too, but i think he didnt know what to say to Tidus at times. And when he was almost there, a battle would commence, and the vibes would pick up, then he lost himself in battle. afterwards he never had the chance to say anything because Tidus was always talking to Yuna, and Auron stayed away. I think he always wanted to tell him that he cared for Tidus as the Father Figure...but just couldnt bare to tell him why he wanted to care for him so much. I think that Auron wanted to take Tidus into his own hands for Jecht, and show him who his father really was, a friend, and a leader

Auron was an undead... or unsend, he died at the hand of Yunalesca after he tried to kill her(vengeance for Jecht and Braska)

he didn't go to the Farplane cause he promised Jecht and Braska to look out for Yuna and Tidus... so, in fact, he actually cared about his promise, keeping Yuna and Tidus alive as much as possible

but being an unsend, he lost pretty much all of his emotions, as undead, or unsend, are well, emotionless
and the only reason he was still... "alive" after being slain, was because of that promise he made to his 2 companions, Braska and Jecht, after Auron defeated Jecht(with Yuna and the guardians), he knew they were ready to take care of themselves, and so he left to the Farplane...

you can see this too with Seymour, he wanted to destroy all life on spira, so end the so called sorrow(by becoming Sin)
a living person would in fact think twice...
the longer he thought about it, the less he cared...
falling deeper into the being of undead

I think he'd liked to have cared, but losing both of his friends the first time around made him wish to... well, not experience such a loss again. Naturally such fear would be somewhat alleviated from his head due to the fact he wouldn't lose them to the Final Summoning; a sure death for a minimum of two people (not really a death for the Fayth, but it'll happen to 'em eventually).

I don't really think he cared, just as long as he fulfilled his promise to Jecht and Braska; to help both their children.

i was playing through the game again and saw that as long as yuna completed her pilgramge, auron wouldn't care... remember the scene in the thunder plains where yuna said that would marry, but auron intervened wanting to know if it would effect yuna's pilgramage, but when yuna said yes, auron didn't really care that much
