I was searching on Gamefaqs.com to find a way to get through Ultiimecia's castle when I found this Debug Mode. I have seen it before but I nevere really paid any attention to it but now after skimming through the possibilty that I may have Seife or Edea, I am currently interrested in it but I want to know if anyone has ver tried it and if they did, how does it work?

I've tried it in the past, and its one of the more interesting Debug Modes. Each 'area' you go into contains characters to talk to, and an FF8 logo. As expected, if you go into certain areas, or talk to certain characters, the game will freeze. Each character will do one of the following - Transport you to an area of your choice, change the disc/music, play an FMV, add items, change your stats and a multitude of other options.

I never actually been in VIII's debug room, only VII's and that was quite cool. Problem is that alot of the text found in debug will be gibberish so you don't know if your going to be skipping to Ultimecia's Castle or the bottom of the Deep Sea Reasearch Centre with no escape and only Ultima Weapon for company. With only Squall. at level 1.

And you do this how? I never know how to do this stuff -_-

I used a cheat disk for mine, an old Xploder one. :D

And after a bit of tinkering the FF8 debug foom is quite easy to understand... I just hate the glitchy rooms you can't escape from like the afterimage one. :wacky:

Yeah that happens alot ^
You can save in the very first room you enter by talking to Headmaster Cid.
I myself used Xploder V9000; one of the greatest cheat device for the PS1.

I think mine's CD9000 or something, mine was mainly used for infinite items, max levels, extra characters and all spells

It has been said you know. You have to use a cheat device such as Action Replay, Gameshark or Xploder. Once the cheat has been activated press SELECT, START, L1, R1, L2 and R2 simultaneously and you'll enter debug mode.
