YouTube is not the best place to pick for sourcing quotes as evidence, since YouTube comments are usually moronic anyway.

The point is that as a general rule, comments on YouTube are not the best place to look for evidence to back up your arguments. There are people commenting on YouTube who probably still think the Sun orbits the Earth.

Firstly, just because YOU don't like their games doesn't mean other people don't! Seriously, I find a lot of games they made enjoyable, Dragon Quest series (VIII and IX, rest were remakes but still fun), Final Fantasy Series (yes I mean the ones after they became Square enix, XII, XIII, XIII-2 Etc.), Kingdom Hearts series, Star Ocean, 3 and 4,
and some of the companies they own are making very promising games, Deus-ex, Batman Arkham City (yes they had there paws in that game) I know people around here like Dead Island guess what... Square owned that company also.


and some promising games like Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution, Sleeping Dogs... guess what... all owned by Square-Enix...


and as far as this FF VII Tech demo goes...
IT WAS A TECH DEMO!!! YOU KNOW HOW MANY TECH DEMO'S ARE MADE FOR A SYSTEM????


heck PS2 had a FFVIII tech demo Didn't know that huh?
N64 had a FFVI tech demo...


Seriously it's called a TECH DEMO for a reason!!!


Honestly I hope they never...EVER remake FFVII cause it is the most over rated FF game ever made! It was good for the time but seriously doesn't deserve all the praises it got... if you all think it was so fricken perfect go buy it off the PSN and play it like that, or are graphics that important to you???

Theres a difference, SQUARE ENIX the PUBLISHER and the DEVELOPER
They create and they publish. Tomb Raider is a game that they published and Final Fantasy is Developed by them.
About liking the (crap/enix era) games, sure there are other people who like them but sales charts speak for themselves.


But that aside its not about the liking, its the pretentious marketing system they use hyping with spin offs and then deliver a dissapointment.


And about FF7, its an awesome game to me a true piece of art that carries emotional value.
Also this "FF7 IS OVERRATED QQ" to me is BS because everyone rates the game individually and IF the majority overrated it then it is overrated for a reason.
But i didn't made this post all about FF7 its more about Square in general.

Yes i know about those 2 other tech demos out there, but these demos werent as hyped as the FF7 one.

I love when people whine about Square doing exactly what other companies are also doing, and act like they are somehow more evil because of it. If you don't like the games, no one is forcing you to buy them or play them. It's that simple.


Also, I saw the whole outrage with FFVII coming when I clicked this thread. Get over it. They don't want to remake it. Go play the original if you love it so much. Surely something as superficial and meaningless as graphics won't stand in the way you of you totally enjoying it?

I'm already OVER FF7, aswell are other people BUT they still try and hype those people by saying "We're thinking about it, We're trying to look at the possibilities"
Then they're blowing it completely off the charts and then reviving the hype saying that some people are exited about it in their development studios

X-2 was just too lighthearted. Wasnt expected compared to X. If however it was a different ff game it wont be so bad. But still it was made specifically as a sequel.

It seems that FFXIII is complete crap, NEVER did the older Final Fantasy's have the need to use such a vile thing like a DATALOG.,

I think including the datalog was one of their smartest moves. I would never have gotten my head around the terminology without it.


It sounds to me less like Square is to blame but rather their views simply differ from yours.

I had the same dilemma with Kingdom Hearts post-358/2 Days because I hated how they drifted away from what I felt were the most interesting aspects of the story - meanwhile several of my friends adore how they've fleshed out from the original concept. I believe the latter was the preferred interpretation of these changes but I just didn't like them.
